Eventually my three car garage went from housing two cars, to one car, and then no cars. It was time I considered a storage unit. I realized the need for a storage unit late last year, but it wasn't until recently during COVID that I had time to go down and visit Derrels and open an account. The process was as easy as it gets. But I will say, we were incredibly lucky that we arrived on a day that a 10x10 became available. This location seems to have several long-time clients and getting an available unit can be tricky. The managers were incredibly friendly and helpful. They showed us the unit and we signed that day. Moved in the next. The facility is exceptionally clean. Every nook and cranny was spotless. The unit has plywood siding so that you can hang racks and what not. The 10x10 has plenty of room for our stuff and I can FINALLY reclaim my garage.

But we did put our holiday decorations in there and out of hubby's garage. Although that's a lot of money spent!! But they're always nice and friendly and send an email about our rent due that makes it convenient since out of sight out of mind. And they keep my card on file but never charge it unless I give permission and they make it smooth and easy to rent there. Always clean safe and secure at this location and close to our house. But now we're moving and will be vacating our unit. But to anyone considering renting here I give it a big thumbs up since their hours are longer than that big chain storage place that's always closing a day here and there for holidays.

We used to rent an outdoor parking space here for our 5th wheel trailer. We'd been there for a good…read morefew years without any issues. Next thing we know, 4yrs in, us along with a lot of other outdoor space renters who were parking their trailers out where we were, were told, "You need to find another place to rent. We're clearing out all those spaces where you are to build more storage facilities and we need you all out by the end of the month." We had to scramble to find another facility nearby where we could house our 5th wheel. You could tell everyone was looking because spots were going fast. Mind you, the managers of the place had told us that it was a corporate decision, and they couldn't make sense of it seeing how almost 80% of the storage spaces in their facility were still vacant. But nonetheless, it was the inconvenience they caused and additional expenses they placed on everyone forced to relocate. Fast forward 2yrs and there has been absolutely no progress on any additional storage facilities being built. Figures! We moved from the Stockdale Hwy facility to the one on 7th Standard and we are very pleased. The facility is clean, easy access to our 5th wheel, the managers are great, and we ended up renting a storage facility from them too. They have confirmed that they have no intention of relocating any of their outdoor parking space renters.

Others offered deals like buy two months get one free but Darrel's offers a promo price for three months that is 1/3 cheaper so it is the same rate ultimately without locking you into three months. It was a smooth process booking my unit and it's very easy getting in and out. The associates were helpful and nice and really treated me well.

We've rented twice from them in the last year. Once for our 5th wheel and again for our cargo…read moretrailer. They are a new facility so everything is new and nice. Their outdoor parking is all paved and it makes it nice, keeps the dust down. Our only problem was trying to see the tiny numbers on the site so you kind of have to get out of your vehicle to read them and the aisles are not yet marked. But everyone in the office are really nice and helpful and we've never had any issues with our items stored there. They have a lot of surveillance cameras so they can see what's going on, on the premises. Prices are decent compared to other places in town. I just don't like that they are closed on holidays, that means you're unable to take your rig back if you come home on a holiday.
