Jalapeño Smash-burger & Fries with a Rauch, Gator, Scissors beer.

Somewhat of a hidden gem in Columbus Clintonville neighborhood. Small but nice brewery tucked back in a strip center. Staff was attentive & let us know @ Wednesday half off burger day with a purchase of a pint. I've had their pizza before (which is great), and the smash burger was awesome too. I had the jalapeño smash burger. A crispy smash patty on a brioche bun, pepperjack cheese, fresh jalapenos, crispy fried onions, shredded lettuce, and jalapeno cream cheese ranch. I also had the fries which were crispy & awesome too. Their beers are great as well

Great food, good service, and a cool atmosphere. Small but mighty menu packs a punch with specials that are so good!! Service is super friendly and food comes out hot and fast. You can scan the QR code for a menu and order/pay online or stick with traditional menu and service. We ordered wings and the special crispy chicken sandwich. Wings were perfectly cooked, not too greasy and the fried chicken was lip smacking good! Good little spot to hit!

Awesome local brewery near the campus and my hotel. I just came in for a four pack to take home with me and was pleasantly surprised how busy and lovely this place was. There is a food menu but I did not order anything. Vibe is 100% college campus with bit of hippy.

We got in late from our flight from CA to move our daughter in to her apt, go OH! We were beat but hungry and needed a good drink. We love trying our breweries when traveling and so glad we found Derive! The guy who helped us( sorry forgot his name) was so helpful! I had a great Pilsner and my husband lived the IPAs. The food, so good! Sorry no pics but we both had the smash burger & fries, yum! Our daughter had the pepperoni pizza. It was so good and a good size. Try this place! We'll definitely be back!!

My favorite brewery in Columbus! Why? The vibe is extremely friendly and the brewer(s) are extremely technically competent. It's very rare that you get both of these things simultaneously. You do get the friendly, gregarious brewers that make beer that is...fine. And then you've got the low emotional intelligence brewers that are brewing wizards. The folks that run this place are both. How do I know? I talked to them for hours on end at the bar. Even though I was an obnoxious homebrewer, they treated me like an equal. Felt great, man. As far as their beer: everything is good. There speciality is definitely Hazy IPA though. If you want to taste a FRESH, UN-OXIDIZED Hazy for the first time, this is the place!

    Chicken tikka pizza. Yummy!.

Tiny update: tried the chicken tikka pizza today. Instead of pizza sauce I think they use tikka marsala,,, cheese, chicken herbs spices amd jalapeños. Its quite good. As usual service was top notch. Would of stayed longer but a group of rude parents brought their young children in tow. Kids are fine but not when they are screeching. They deposited their kids at a table, completely unsupervised and they were screeching loudly, non stop at an adult absent table. Cuz... well, I guess mamma needs a break. Well everyone who was NOT with them had a look of pure pain each time the kids screeched. Lol. And, tbo--That group of people sucked the zen right out of the air and we couldn't leave fast enough, lol. Thought a brewery would be somewhat screech free. Poor bartenders. I bet they wished they could leave too. HA!

Went to Derive tonight for dinner and a couple beers. Great atmosphere tonight - more than half full and warm and inviting. Good variety on the beer menu with several interesting looking collabs. I had a flight of mostkynIPAs and they were varied and good. Had the cauliflower wings with sabauce, an Indian sauce. The wings were crisp and the sauce was really good! Also had the Detive smashburger. Very tasty and fresh. Service was super attentive on a fairly busy night.

Even more turtlenecks and gold chains

This little spot is pumping out some of the best beers in the city. Not to mention the best cauliflower wings I have ever had. I've been lucky enough to visit this place on two different occasions. The menu keeps a great rotation of fantastic brews and the cooler has a great selection of 4 packs you can go. Staff is super friendly. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Ohio Pepperoni pizza is amazing along with the beers, burgers, wings and of course their beers. Service is always amazing in a small Clintonville brewery. Stop in and give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Came here with a friend for dinner. They were having a special of buy a pint and get 1/2 off their standard burger. We both ordered the burger special and I added a wedge salad. The wedge came out early and was huge. Was plenty to share so I cut in half. I don't like bleu cheese dressing so I ordered ranch but did expect bleu cheese crumbles and it didn't have any so that was disappointing. Nonetheless I would order again and I loved. The burger. Wow. It was so good. It was crispy on the edges and salty. Everything I wanted a smash burger to be. Our service was unusual but not bad. I loved the atmosphere

My first experience having Derive was blindly picking up a hazy IPA crowler of theirs at Savor Growl a few years ago. I remember liking the beer, and I was hoping for good things when I chose to visit on a recent Saturday night. Without a doubt, the place delivered. Easy parking in their lot led to easy seating at that bar for the Mrs and me. She went the cocktail route, but I was there for the beer. I had their 'Friends' flight of four beers influenced by hops from different regions. All four were on point. Definitely recommend. The menu was more robust than you would expect from a brewery, and the Thanksgiving Poutine and Loaded Fries were some of the tastiest bar carbs I've had in a while. Both were full of flavors without being too sloppy. Another pleasant surprise was the decor. Cool chandeliers, sports on TV and even a fire pit for your outdoor consumption. Derive is far from your average brewery.

This one didn't offer one, which was a general disappointment (and offering to be might benefit them-- the place was dead for most of the two hours we were there). The space is beautiful and luxurious: a lovely fountain is in the center and signature chandeliers fill the dining area. I was a little disappointed that the choices of seating were were given -- though the place was empty-- was either a very small table (so small our servers apologized for having to awkwardly stack things as dishes came out) or a table attached to the only other large party dining there. Felt like a very strange choice. Also, while the place is very upscale and very expensive, that vibe was somewhat at odds with other diners who did arrive in what literally looked like old pajama pants and workout gear. The food was all good, but portions are very small for the big prices: entrees are all in the $50 range, sandwiches in the $30 range. A "petite" baked potato (which is petite indeed) was $14; burrata was $26. It was fine, but you can have a true consistently upscale experience elsewhere for those kinds of prices. I'd come back -- if there was a happy hour!
