Best Lunch ever, well the food that is. It take out or sit outside. Service is fast and friendly. Ambiance well it's take out.

Can't say enough wonderful things about this place. Their Cuban sandwich is the best outside of Miami. Not to mention, fast and courageous service.

Best Cuban sandwich! Just moved to the area and Derek's was recommended. Had to try the Cuban. This sandwich is huge! Could easily feed 2 people! Loved it! Will definitely be back!

This surprised the heck out of me. Summerville has no shortage of amazing dining, but to find a top-notch gyro in the back of a farm stand? Didn't have that on my bingo card. The lamb is tender and incredibly mild. Great feta sauce and soft bread. A simple and amazing treat. And huge! I couldn't finish. The people working there were extra friendly. I can't wait to try other sandwiches there.

Run, do not walk to get here! We heard about Derek's for a while and had never made it until today. I had the gyro and my husband had the Reuben and they were incredible. Made fresh and it was one of the best meals I've had in a while. I got the coleslaw and it was also one of the best... a little sweet but with a delicious kick. We will definitely be back!!

Absolutely the best! Hidden gem in Summerville! Derek's does not disappoint with their home made Gyros, soup, baklava and more! Anytime I'm in Summerville I stop in. The husband and wife graciously greet you and I think they remember my name. I took pictures this time to share. Do yourself a favor and visit this little place. So glad they are still there. It's by the Piggly wiggly and behind the fruit stand. Best place ever. Don't forget the baklava!

This spot is tucked away on the side of central market. Been there for just about a year now and wondering why I never ate there before . So, I was driving by and had to check it out because we only have two Greek restaurants here in Summerville. This place was fantastic and the gyro was huge! Very flavorful and plentiful tzatziki sauce on it. I think it weighed about 1/2 pound! The coleslaw is homemade and comes with it or chips. Derek who owns and runs the place is a very nice fellow and knows how to make one of the best gyros in town. Definitely got a new customer here!

Derek's is located behind (and attached) to Coastal Produce on Cedar in Summerville. Just pull behind and there it is! Serving up all your favorite sandwiches with some sides and deserts, you won't be disappointed with the awesome food and ample portions. I was greeted at the "take out" style window, ordered, and promptly received my huge Gyro. No indoor seating, outdoor picnic tables. Parking on site. Loaded with meat, onions, sauce, tomatoes, and lettuce. Served with a side (choice of chips, cole slaw, potato salad). I had the cole slaw, outstanding. Can't wait to come back. Quick, efficient, great service.

Small restaurant serving up big and tasty sandwiches! The owner Derek's father owned a restaurant and he learned cooking from childhood. Great food served with a caring spirit. We will be back to try all the sandwiches!

Classic Club, with extra pickles And a side of delicious potato salad that has a hint of sweetness. Loved everything about this.
    Victoria G.

Kept seeing these clubs all over Facebook and had to go try one for myself. Was served by the cutest couple at Derek's . If you're in the downtown summerville area go try them out. They're located behind the Coastal Produce Market near the Piggly Wiggly. They have gyros, clubs, pastrami sandwiches ,Ruebens and baklava. Was my first time going but definitely won't be my last.

You'd miss it if you didn't know it was there. But don't kiss it. Best gyro in the state.

Ordering ahead on their website was quick and convenient, with easy online payment and the ability to select a pickup time. My food was ready right on schedule--perfect for a busy day when you still want a fresh, high-quality meal. I chose the Morocco bowl, and it absolutely delivered. The ingredients were vibrant, colorful, and clearly fresh. The basmati rice was light and aromatic, providing the perfect foundation for the bowl. The tomato-cucumber salad added a crisp, refreshing contrast, red onions, red peppers, grilled zucchini, kalamata olives, while the feta cheese brought just the right amount of tangy richness. What truly tied everything together was the creamy tzatziki--cool, smooth, and indulgent without feeling heavy. The harissa added a bold, spicy kick that elevated the flavors and kept every bite exciting. Beyond tasting amazing, the bowl was also visually appealing, making it just as satisfying to look at as it was to eat. You get generous portions, excellent quality, and bold Mediterranean flavors at a very fair price. I also ordered the deliciously refreshing cucumber water to balance out the spicy sauce and peppers. If you're looking for a fresh, satisfying lunch with the ease of pickup. I highly recommend. The lamb is prepared a little differently here, almost like hamburger patties, but it still has good flavor. The potatoes were so good! *Raspberry Dream Salad with Pork Souvlaki - love this salad with the cranberries, crunch from the cashew nuts, and addition of the pork. The pork was flavorful! I replaced my salad with greek dressing instead of the raspberry dressing, and their greek dressing is pretty good. Service was a little slow as they were busy, but the girl taking the orders was also the one delivering orders to the tables as well. Perhaps a little understaffed for the Saturday lunch rush. Last time I was here, I got the falafel wrap and feta pimento cheese as takeout. The order was quick and ready before the time promised. I enjoyed the wrap, but the pimento cheese was a failure for me. I love pimento cheese, but this one was just so soupy in texture and really did not have any feta flavor to it, but it definitely had pimento flavor. Also, we got the medium size and were only given a couple of pita bread slices, so they do not have amount of pita to match even close the amount of pimento cheese. I would come back here if in the area as they offer some good options.

You can order through all the major delivery services, use their website, or walk up and order in person like I did. I ordered the kabob plate with both a chicken kabob and a beef kabob. It came with a generous portion of wonderfully seasoned, fluffy rice -- and plenty of it. On the side was a fresh chopped salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and a cool tzatziki sauce that added a bright, refreshing balance to the plate. The vegetables were super fresh and crisp, and every bite had great flavor. The beef kabob was fantastic -- well-seasoned ground beef formed on the skewer with bold, savory flavor. But the chicken was the star of the show for me. It was incredibly tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. Not spicy at all -- just rich, balanced flavor done right. They offer a wide selection beyond kabobs: lamb, chicken, beef shawarma, hummus, grape leaves, and several authentic Middle Eastern sides that can be hard to find done properly. If you're on this side of town, place an order and swing by to pick it up. It's fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth the stop.
