If you're anywhere near Old Trolley Road in Summerville, make the stop at Shawerma House. While it's technically a food truck, it's set up in a permanent location with convenient parking, so it's easy to swing in and grab a meal. You can order through all the major delivery services, use their website, or walk up and order in person like I did. I ordered the kabob plate with both a chicken kabob and a beef kabob. It came with a generous portion of wonderfully seasoned, fluffy rice -- and plenty of it. On the side was a fresh chopped salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and a cool tzatziki sauce that added a bright, refreshing balance to the plate. The vegetables were super fresh and crisp, and every bite had great flavor. The beef kabob was fantastic -- well-seasoned ground beef formed on the skewer with bold, savory flavor. But the chicken was the star of the show for me. It was incredibly tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. Not spicy at all -- just rich, balanced flavor done right. They offer a wide selection beyond kabobs: lamb, chicken, beef shawarma, hummus, grape leaves, and several authentic Middle Eastern sides that can be hard to find done properly. If you're on this side of town, place an order and swing by to pick it up. It's fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth the stop.

Chicken shawarma over rice

I've been wanting to try this place for a while but they are only open 4pm-9pm and I never could time it just right. This is a food truck so you'll either need to get it to go or eat in your car. You can order online for pickup. It took about ten minutes for my food to be prepared. I ordered chicken shawarma over rice. It's a lot of food! I didn't expect it to also have salad. Vegetables were all fresh. I would have preferred dressing on the side instead of all over my food. Chicken was fresh but flavor a bit bland. They did give me some hot sauce packets but I'm not a fan of heat. I'd probity a gyro next time.

Best Shawerma ever if you're hungry go here, deadass not even joking. Go here now it'll change you're life

I had the Gyro plate last week with extra lamb & the Greek salad as a side so delicious. The tzatziki sauce was a perfect topping on it. The rice was seasoned well. I also had the baklava so good my spot every week now I came back 2 days later to thank them because the food was good. The mother was there She gifted me a bowl of lentil soup and asked me to taste it in front of her. I was nervous. I took a sip of the soup. I couldn't believe how delicious it was. I'm here now for my third time and I'm gonna try falafel and get a Gyro plate. Great service so happy with my food!

They have a really good bar area, could sit a dozen or more people. With more than a dozen tables alongside the wall. It's a great place to come play card or board games (they have those available) with your friends/family and have great conversation. They have an outdoor patio in the back where you can smoke hookah. Patio also has its own bar. All of the employees have been super hospitable and nice. The absolute best falafels I have ever had in my life! I love falafel and have have them frequently…read morein restaurants ranging from fine to casual dining. What really separates these falafels is the robust range of spices and complex flavor into the traditional falafel, texture and flavors. The falafel appetizer platter came with four pieces and they were basically gone as soon as they arrived to the table as our entire family ate immediately. Including our pickiest eating family member, who enjoyed theirs too! Exceptional! The halloumi is fantastic and cooked perfectly. It had a nice seasoning on top of it which differentiated it from others I have had before. Everyone at our table enjoyed it. It came with four pieces. The grape leaves were a delight. They had a more robust complex flavor palette than Greek style grape leaves. They were served warm, however they were not dried out like sometimes grape leaves are when they're brought to a table warm. These were beautifully seasoned and had nice moisture to them. The size of each was about that of a ring finger. I can not remember hot many pieces were on the plate but it was more than 4. We ordered the chefs hummus with the pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. It was delicious and a great texture. Pretty much par for the course. My entrée was the Mujadra lentil and rice dish. The flavors were absolutely phenomenal. At first, I was thinking about getting the lentil soup for lunch, but then decided to try under the vegetarian section of the menu the lentil plate. The lentils and rice were placed in a circle mold on the plate. With pretty pieces of salad coming out from four different places. There were pine nuts, chopped, and placed a top of the rice and lentils. Everyone at the table tried my dish and even though we all four have very different favorite flavors and foods everyone agreed it tasted phenomenal and was absolutely delicious. Another family member ordered the lentil soup. They really enjoyed that and they also took some rice off of their spouse's plate and put it in the lentil soup which was a nice pairing. Spouse had the beef kebab cooked, medium rare. The temperature on the kebab for cooking was absolutely perfect! The texture pinkness, and overall cooking was beautifully done to a true medium rare. He had french fries as his side those were just as perfectly cooked as everything else that came out of the kitchen of this restaurant. They were nice and crisp with a good flavor. Three of our four family members tried and agreed they were very nicely done fries crispy all around and not floppy soft. Another family member ordered the Shish Tawook. They were completely in love and smitten with the garlic sauce that came with it. It is divine and tastes beautiful on the chicken. Rice was beautifully cooked as well. The accompaniments of lettuce, pita and oil was delicious. Dessert was baklava. Like every other part of the meal, we had it had a really nice blend of spices and flavor to it. We got it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. All of the desserts on the menu are made in house. One of our family members doesn't tend to like homemade ice cream however she liked this ice cream because she thought the texture was really brilliant for it being made in house at a restaurant. The baklava comes with three pieces. I would love for them to open a restaurant near where we live. If we lived here we would come in 2-3 times a week. Near the end of our meal, we heard some of the restaurant team speaking with another table of regulars. We overheard that they were short staffed that day as someone had called in. We never absolutely would not have guessed that. They seamlessly checked on our table, brought everything out in a timely manner, and none of the plates were hot like they had been sitting at expo waiting to come out to the table for a while. It was wonderful hospitality, with great care and checking in. Our server was a sweet and attentive person. Simply removing plates as we finished and refilling drinks. No one at our table was in want or need of anything as he kept it all well filled. I think the biggest compliment I can give is one family member always has room for dessert. They loved their meal in the appetizer so much they could not have any dessert. Which coming from them a huge dessert person is quite the praise.

Originally, my girlfriend & I were going to eat at the Cook Out further north up US 17 Business on Labor Day Monday, 9/2/24. But it started heavily raining, and it was only to go at this Cook Out; the one I went to before was dine-in, so that threw us for a loop. We would've had to wait outside in the pouring rain to order and then eat in the car, which I had no interest in doing. We were ultimately meeting up with friends down on the boardwalk south of 8th Ave N. We had parked on Broadway and thought about eating over there, but nothing stood out. We walked to Ocean Blvd, there were a couple of places that were to go or just wasn't feeling. Shwarma's King looked promising and coincidentally that's where some friends already were. So, we settled on that. My biggest pet peeve with restaurants is no courtesy cup of water for paying customer of food. Water should be given no questions asked. You order at the counter. I will say the owner was very nice. And we were desperate since I don't normally do food purchases from a business who refuses water. My g/f went ahead and paid since I froze when we talked about the no water cup, and she bought water. I will also say that the Schwarma wrap was great. It was too bad he denied courtesy cup of water, which should be a given with the meal because I think I would've given this 5-stars instead of 2-stars considering the friendly owner & great food.
