a food truck parked in a parking lot

My sister and I split a falafel from Food Box on a rainy Wednesday night at Two Blokes trivia and were blown away. It was not easy to cut it in half but we finished every last bite. The fries were also perfectly cooked -- and it was like $9. Very impressed and I look forward to seeing them pop up again.

While I'm certainly no expert on fried chicken (I've never even been to a Chick Fil A!!), this truck has very tasty fried chicken sandwiches. The small menu has great choices and fulfilled three of us. Fried chicken sandwiches five ways, classic, honey, super spicy, Asian and southern. Hubby had the super spicy and said excellent! The spice crept up on him and he was one happy guy. I had the honey, but wished it had been a bit sweeter. The chicken in all the sandwiches is cooked perfectly. Nice and crispy, moist inside. The flavoring on the crust is supreme. Personal preference would be for more additional toppings. Don't discount those fries. SO GOOD. I've heard the falafels are supreme. Next time. Prices are very reasonable. Fast service.

Good food and great price point. It's refreshing to NOT have to pay $16 for an entree from a food truck!

Their cocktails are always so well crafted, but I also enjoy a nice glass of red here too. Don't skip on the jelly shot - always a fun seasonal flavor! I love the cozy whisky bar atmosphere and love that they've been adding decorations for holidays too! Fall and Christmas are my two favorite times of year to visit.

We had to order drinks off their holiday menu, and they did not disappoint! My wife tried the Heat Miser with Hangar 1 Vodka, pineapple, ginger beer, and habanero tincture. The drink resembles his flaming hair with a little red-light lighting up the ice. You can choose your heat level as well from mild, medium to hot, my wife chose the medium and it had a nice kick. I tried the other side with the White Christmas with Hangar 1 Vodka, Cointreau, rosemary simple, lemon, and white cranberry juice. It glittered like new fallen snow with a little white light to add to the glow. The cranberry provided a great festive flavor. For our appetizer we ordered off the happy hour menu and got the chips and queso for only $5, but we added chorizo for just $2 more. The queso was very flavorful with the right amount of spicy chorizo throughout. My wife ordered the steak sandwich off the Factory Classics menu. It came with shaved beef, onion, arugula, green tomato aioli, on a cheddar rosemary hoagie roll and a side of chips. The steak was nice and tender and that hoagie roll was spectacular. Finally, I order the Reindeer Chilli, which of course was not reindeer and chili was misspelled to add the "chill" factor. Why this is not a regular item I don't know. It was beef prime rib, kidney beans, cheddar, scallions, and sour cream. It literally had hunks of prime rib, and the flavor was warm and inviting enough to melt any grinches heart. So, if you are looking for a place filled with the holiday spirit offering great drinks and food head out to Bar Mash!

I opted for the mesa verde thanks to many great reviews about it. It consists of romaine lettuce, cilantro, black beans, chicken, tomatoes, red onions, corn, tortilla strips, and I subbed in a lemon tahini dressing. I also got a kombucha to-go, but they had plenty of other great canned drinks including Poppi. I didn't eat there as I was planning to cowork at my hotel, but everything was packed well and traveled well. Overall, a solid lunch option for people on the go!

When I arrived to pick up mine, the one person there was sitting on the counter, which I found a little dubious (near the cash register, not in a food prep area). My salad was nonetheless resplendent, both in appearance and in substance. Ample options were offered, and mixing fruit with basil for flavor and adding a black bean burger to my greens to fill me up gave me a salad that took two sittings to finish. Ordering a hard to find local tea from their marketplace wasn't a bad decision either. There is a little room here to sit in, but this outlet is clearly geared towards takeout, and it is quality stuff.

It sets the tone immediately, and the festive energy carries straight through the meal. We kicked things off with Bloody Marys and a Morning Fog -- simple, classic, and done right. For starters, we shared the Hula Hoisin Wings. They were definitely on the heavier side with the hoisin, but still absolutely delicious. The Mistletoe Mango Tuna Poke Tacos were a standout. They come as a small plate with three appetizer-sized tacos, and every bite was bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The Buddy the Elf Burger offers a choice of a single or double patty; ours was cooked perfectly. The smoky bacon really brought everything together and gave it that extra "wow" factor. We rounded things out with the O Come, All Ye Fried Rice with Hanger Steak, which was another winner -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. As if the meal wasn't great enough on its own, we happened to be there while Emily Curtis was performing. She's truly incredible and added such a fun, memorable vibe to the day. I'd be remiss not to mention Kevin our server. Go see him. He was great. The whole team works great together. Don't let the bar-like atmosphere fool you -- Prohibition is far from your typical bar food or bar scene. There's a great space in the back, and the elevated menu makes it absolutely worth the visit. A festive, flavorful, all-around fantastic experience.

I picked out a vegan premade bowl from their refrigerator section, and the server warmed it up and prepared it to be served as an in-person meal, which was really nice. The other two people in my party ordered a sandwich, which is pictured below. They have some coffee drinks available, a decent sized menu, and a good variety of other items in a refrigerated section, primarily for takeout. They've partnered with a vegan dessert vendor, and those were delicious as well! One drawback is that they only have a certain amount of food prepared for the day, so when things are sold out, that's it. It is a little bit pricey, but they are using high-quality ingredients. So, it's not something I would do every day, but it certainly is a special treat.
