I love Greek food but every restaurant I like closes down I tried pitashio baklava for the first time. It was awesome. It was the first baklava I ever liked. I tried original baklava and other restaurants and they were too hard and gooey They have lots of choices and you can pick each item through a deli glass. I hope everyone tries them out

Wow, bloody wow... Haven't been to this place in a while but had to leave a review. Super authentic Mediterranean food. So many side dishes and salads to choose from. Love their pitas & doners but best of all is the customer service. The people here are so friendly. 3 Thumbs Up & 5 Stars from the wife and I.

Ali Baba is gonna hit every single time. Went two days in a row last week because I immediately craved it after I had it. Great for takeout or dine in, portions will always be enough for 2 meals for me. Very reasonably priced and they have great staff, super friendly and helpful.

This was my first time at Ali Baba, and I will definitely be back soon! We ordered takeout and drove over to Pirate Park to enjoy the beautiful weather while eating. The cashier was friendly, asked all the right questions, and ensured we had everything we needed before we left. The dining are was large, quiet, and mostly empty- next time we'll plan on dining in. The counter case was full of all kinds of sides, and we wished we could try it all. Our food was wonderful. I got the chicken kebab with grilled vegetables and Moroccan couscous, and loved every bite - but especially that couscous! The serving size was impressive for the price. I'm already looking forward to our next visit.

I want to like this convenient deli spot on island more than I do. I get Daniel Island rents are high but the prices here are hard to justify. The good- they offer a lot of healthy options especially for vegetarian or gluten free meals. Desserts are yummy. The gyro with tzatziki is consistently good. Service and portions are inconsistent. Chicken kebabs are often small and dry. I like the choose 4 salad option from the deli case but the price is too high at $15. Fries are a miss.

This is the lule kebab plate. Hummus, two skewers, tabule salad and pita bread.

Well, moved here from LA where there is a mid-eatern joint every other block to Charelston, where there is probably two, and this place by far surprised me. I ate this stuff all my life, so this place made my top ten.

Large variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free food as well as well seasoned and tender meat. The chicken kabobs were so tender and flavorful. Large portions of food.

    Massive gyros!

Great food! To support my thoughts, my manager and CEO of my company said the food is very close to the food they had back "home". Best of all, the portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. I really like that the display case in the deli area is full of freshly made dishes and desserts. I used to work on Daniel Island and I've never been a fan of it, but I can't wait to go back to Ali Baba.

Delicious and well served!... great service, served in a timely matter, parking accessible and the ambiance was suited to the type of food they serve. Loved the music. Defenetly going back!

First time here. Lots of options to choose from. They have the most complete Mediterranean collection of side dishes I've ever seen in Charleston. But here's the amazing inside scoop: their portion sizes are super generous, massive, and very fulfilling....IF you can finish! Dishes with lots of flavors, friendly and quick service, very relaxed ambiance. Our dining experience was a welcomed change to our usual fare. And now that we've found it, this restaurant has moved up to our top 10 favorites.

While we were out walking on King Street, a local recommended Stella's, and I'm so glad they did. We walked over from our Airbnb and immediately loved the space. The restaurant has two U-shaped bars in the center, which is my husband and my favorite place to sit when dining out. We went in with zero expectations and hadn't even looked at the menu beforehand, but everything ended up being incredible. The drinks were fantastic, and our bartender/server was so sweet. Even though we were one of the last couples seated that evening, we never felt rushed and were able to enjoy the meal at our own pace. We ordered the non-breaded calamari and a shrimp dish, and the calamari was honestly the best I've ever had. It was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and the artichokes that came with it were so delicious. Every bite made me happy. We finished with the tiramisu, which our bartender recommended, and it was absolutely outstanding--easily the best tiramisu I've ever had. I'm still dreaming about this meal and would come back in a heartbeat the next time I'm in Charleston.

We were surprised when we walked in and the bar was actually low, with low, spinny bar seats. But it actually was pretty unique and fun! Our server was excellent and gave us great recommendations. We started with the Stella's Kalamari that had sun-dried tomatoes, capers, and artichoke hearts. It was very flavorful and delicious. Something to keep in mind here is that the portions are pretty large. Perfect for splitting dishes and a lot of food for your buck. The stand out dish for me was the spanakopita. It's a flaky, crispy pastry with spinach and feta inside that you dip in tzatziki. What's not to love about all of that?? We splurged a bit on our entree and split the braised lamb shank. The lamb itself was pretty good, but what I enjoyed most was the pasta it comes with. I would maybe suggest trying a different entree. It wasn't my favorite, but it was good. For drinks I got the Cretan, which had cucumber infused gin, lime, rosemary and thyme. It was so refreshing and just what I wanted. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending it to others!

They were very helpful with my questions concerning my gluten allergy. They were able to confirm what was gluten free but it is also clearly marked on the menu. The food was fresh and amazing. The hummus is homemade. I had chicken Lula and it was really well seasoned and some of the best I've ever tasted. The only downside was the price. What really separates these falafels is the robust range of spices and complex flavor into the traditional falafel, texture and flavors. The falafel appetizer platter came with four pieces and they were basically gone as soon as they arrived to the table as our entire family ate immediately. Including our pickiest eating family member, who enjoyed theirs too! Exceptional! The halloumi is fantastic and cooked perfectly. It had a nice seasoning on top of it which differentiated it from others I have had before. Everyone at our table enjoyed it. It came with four pieces. The grape leaves were a delight. They had a more robust complex flavor palette than Greek style grape leaves. They were served warm, however they were not dried out like sometimes grape leaves are when they're brought to a table warm. These were beautifully seasoned and had nice moisture to them. The size of each was about that of a ring finger. I can not remember hot many pieces were on the plate but it was more than 4. We ordered the chefs hummus with the pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. It was delicious and a great texture. Pretty much par for the course. My entrée was the Mujadra lentil and rice dish. The flavors were absolutely phenomenal. At first, I was thinking about getting the lentil soup for lunch, but then decided to try under the vegetarian section of the menu the lentil plate. The lentils and rice were placed in a circle mold on the plate. With pretty pieces of salad coming out from four different places. There were pine nuts, chopped, and placed a top of the rice and lentils. Everyone at the table tried my dish and even though we all four have very different favorite flavors and foods everyone agreed it tasted phenomenal and was absolutely delicious. Another family member ordered the lentil soup. They really enjoyed that and they also took some rice off of their spouse's plate and put it in the lentil soup which was a nice pairing. Spouse had the beef kebab cooked, medium rare. The temperature on the kebab for cooking was absolutely perfect! The texture pinkness, and overall cooking was beautifully done to a true medium rare. He had french fries as his side those were just as perfectly cooked as everything else that came out of the kitchen of this restaurant. They were nice and crisp with a good flavor. Three of our four family members tried and agreed they were very nicely done fries crispy all around and not floppy soft. Another family member ordered the Shish Tawook. They were completely in love and smitten with the garlic sauce that came with it. It is divine and tastes beautiful on the chicken. Rice was beautifully cooked as well. The accompaniments of lettuce, pita and oil was delicious. Dessert was baklava. Like every other part of the meal, we had it had a really nice blend of spices and flavor to it. We got it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. All of the desserts on the menu are made in house. One of our family members doesn't tend to like homemade ice cream however she liked this ice cream because she thought the texture was really brilliant for it being made in house at a restaurant. The baklava comes with three pieces. I would love for them to open a restaurant near where we live. If we lived here we would come in 2-3 times a week. Near the end of our meal, we heard some of the restaurant team speaking with another table of regulars. We overheard that they were short staffed that day as someone had called in. We never absolutely would not have guessed that. They seamlessly checked on our table, brought everything out in a timely manner, and none of the plates were hot like they had been sitting at expo waiting to come out to the table for a while. It was wonderful hospitality, with great care and checking in. Our server was a sweet and attentive person. Simply removing plates as we finished and refilling drinks. No one at our table was in want or need of anything as he kept it all well filled. I think the biggest compliment I can give is one family member always has room for dessert. They loved their meal in the appetizer so much they could not have any dessert. Which coming from them a huge dessert person is quite the praise.

The last two times I've ordered pita chips and hummus through the app, the online ordering process felt completely pointless. Both times, my order was marked with an estimated pickup time, but it wasn't actually ready until more than 10 minutes after that. While I was waiting, I watched employees serve 15+ people who came through the regular line after I had already placed and paid for my order. I even saw pita chips being given to customers in line while I was still waiting for the chips I had ordered earlier. It just doesn't seem like online orders are being prioritized or managed efficiently. On top of that, both orders of pita chips were so heavily seasoned and salty that I couldn't finish them. I've had the pita chips here many times over the years and never had this issue before, but the last two visits have been consistent enough that it feels worth mentioning. As a college student, eating out is something I have to budget for and is a treat I look forward to. When the food isn't edible because it's overly salty and the pickup process takes significantly longer than expected, it feels like a waste of money. I know everyone has off days, and I've had plenty of positive experiences at this location in the past. However, because this has happened twice in a row, I'll definitely be more hesitant about ordering here in the future.
