KAIRO'S MEDITERRANEAN - FIVE STARS & THREE THUMBS UP! I honestly cannot believe my wife and I have been coming to Kairo's Mediterranean for several years and I've never written them a proper review. So this one is LONG overdue! This has easily become one of our favorite places to eat. We probably come here twice a week, and there's a reason we keep coming back. THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Everything tastes incredibly fresh, authentic and flavorful, and it's one of those places where you can eat a big meal and still feel like you ate something healthy. And I have to specifically mention the tzatziki. My wife and I have traveled throughout Greece and visited several of the Greek islands, so we've had the real thing plenty of times. It can actually be surprisingly difficult to find tzatziki back home that tastes the way it does in Greece. Kairo's absolutely nails it. It's fresh, creamy, authentic and delicious. Honestly, everything we've tried here is packed with flavor. The best way I can describe walking out of Kairo's is this: You have a circus in your mouth! There are just so many different flavors going on, and somehow they all work perfectly together. GREAT PORTIONS WITHOUT CRAZY PRICES Another thing I really appreciate about Kairo's is the value. Eating out has gotten expensive just about everywhere, but you can still come here and get a fantastic meal without spending a fortune. We regularly get a huge platter with fries, drinks and tzatziki, and the value is incredible. You can easily have a great meal here for roughly $10-$12 per person, depending on what you order. They also have a surprisingly large selection of drinks, which is another nice touch. But as good as the food is, there's something even better... THE PEOPLE & THE SERVICE! For me, great service can completely change a restaurant experience, and the team at Kairo's is absolutely spectacular. They've had many of the same people working here for years, which says a lot by itself. Everyone is friendly, polite and welcoming, and you can tell the team genuinely gets along and enjoys working together. And I have to give a special shout-out to the manager, Griffin. This guy is AWESOME. He knows us by name, remembers what we order and takes care of us every single time we walk through the door. That kind of personal service is becoming harder and harder to find. Griffin and his team don't make you feel like another customer walking through the line -- they make you feel like family. The restaurant is also always immaculate. Every time we're there, somebody is cleaning, wiping things down or making sure everything looks right. The whole place is consistently spotless. After several years and probably more meals here than I could possibly count, Kairo's continues to deliver every single time. As an extreme Cava lover, I never thought a bowl-centered fast food place would be better than that, but I stand corrected, because Kairos has become my absolute favorite place to get a bowl. I usually just make my own bowl based off of my mood. It's always good and the ingredients are always fresh and flavorful. The MP location was a little bit dirty at the time I was there, but they were also busy so they might not have had a minute to wipe down tables. The service is pretty reliable. Not to compare too much but I've had some issues with the service at Cava recently, so Kairos is winning in my book! read more

Kairos Mediterranean is a staple food group for me in and of itself! I love all of the fresh ingredients here. It's consistently a hearty meal, packed with great protein options and amazing flavor. Went there for a takeout order while traveling. Ordered 2 Bowls, one with a salad base and chicken and the other with Lamb and rice. The server made no attempt to explain what any of the options were as I moved through the line,ie, how many toppings you could take or what the indistinguishable food choices were. Also observed that many vegetables were scooped up by hand. (glove on but would prefer a clean spoon.) When we returned to the hotel and ate dinner both the lamb and chicken were dry and tasteless (as were the entire bowls) We ate a small amount and were not interested in the leftovers. read more

Good place for quick Mediterranean bowl or pita wrap dish. Although I am not a fan of bowl type meals, this place is pretty good. The pita wrap is much better. You can build your own but for your first time I recommend you go with a set dish, especially the bowls. The Refresh was better than the Moroccan. The staff is friendly and have patience. I wanted to start light with a salad knowing how many delicious southern meals awaited me over the long weekend. My local friend highly recommended this place. We both got the power green salad. Wow! It was the perfect lunch! The falafel was freshly made. I got the dill yogurt dressing in the side and it was perfect. All three spreads (humans, tzatziki, red pepper feta) were tasty. I got the cucumber water to drink. Loved the music they played. Tables were comfortable. Places was constantly busy around the 1-2pm mark. There was a steady stream of people. Wow! So pleasantly surprised by this place. We ordered a platter with spicy chicken and tons of toppings and a falafel bowl. Both were tons of food with great flavors. Hubby loves good Greek food, and my coworker brought a Greek bowl for lunch that smelled amazing, so I asked her where she got it and she she told me about this place. It is set up almost like a Moe's, where you pick your base item and then get to choose how it's constructed and topped. I got hubby some Gyros and myself a bowl similar to the tantalizing one of my coworker. The ingredients were fresh and there were so many delicious additions it was hard to not just get everything, but I was able to control myself and build a yummy but sensible bowl. The pita was pillowy-soft and the hummus looked so good I took a tub to go. The lamb gyro was not anywhere near as good as the chicken gyro, hubby says. The lavender lemonade was refreshing and delicious, and I will definitely be back for more. Kairos is located in mount pleasant on a shopping mall with plenty of parking and very convenient when visiting the stores across the lot. It is fast food Mediterranean in which you can build your own gyro and choose the toppings that you want. I went for the beef Gyro and took one of their eclectic drink/ juice mixes which were really unique an enjoyable. I though it was cool to be able to customize my gyro with the topics that I wanted and that allows for so many different combinations to have a different dish each time. Every time I come to the Charleston area, I make it a point to visit Kairos. I've had amazing experiences here in the past, and this most recent visit was no different. Came in at peak lunch hour (1pm) with 4 other people. It was busy inside, with a lot of people eating in, and there was a slight line, but it moved along very quickly. I ordered the Love Heart Pita and added Kairos hot sauce, tomato's, and pepperoncinis. My pita, and everyone else's orders, were ready very quickly. Thats one thing to love about Kairos: the service is quick, and all of the employees are friendly. Now, the food. My pita was amazing, packed with the perfect amount of lamb and toppings. All of the flavors worked well together, with no flavor overpowering the other. The fries were another highlight, topped with a generous portion of feta and drizzled with a delicious vinaigrette. The food was surprisingly light but very filling. If you find yourself in the area, I'd definitely recommend giving Kairos a try. read more

I love the Recovery Bowl to get you through a big day- double protein and triple dips along with brien rice and lentils. I sub spicy chicken and add pickled peppers when I'm craving heat. It can't match up to a true Greek style restaurant since it does not have a grill or rotisserie necessary to embody the flavor of the isles. It is conveniently located near Nordstrom Mall as I was running errands. Ample size parking lot. I got the platter with two proteins. The Harissa chicken was more flavorful than the lamb. As I mentioned, the meats are cooked ahead of time and kept on a steam table. Hence, the accompanying spreads with warm pita and salad is what makes the meal. We were on vacation in Mt. Pleasant, SC and looking for someplace for dinner. My son found this restaurant and we decided to try it out based on the good reviews. I was a fish out of water when ordering. The food was assembled front of us by choosing different items. Since I wasn't familiar with the ingredients I chose the Moroccan Bowl. Even though the bowl contained certain ingredients, they still asked if I wanted that particular ingredient. The food was delicious and I very much enjoyed my meal.
