Beautiful Paso and Derby.
Mickey A.

Can't say enough about how much we thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting here at Derby. Both Emily and Danny were exceptional at making sure we knew exactly what was in each glass, and gave us invaluable information about the vineyards and what goes into their winemaking. On a cold and rainy morning it was nice to get a warm greeting as we were there right when they opened for the day. We settled in for the classic tasting, and came away with some delicious bottles. We were also able to taste their Viognier and Graciano from the reserve tasting, and are excited to share those with friends. Definitely a tasting room to put on your Paso Wine Trail map.

Tasting!

One of our favorite winery in the heart of Paso Robles. We enjoyed Friday concerts here. You can buy a bottle, or wine by the glass and get a table under the shade to enjoy the music all night. Staffs there are always friendly and fun to chat with. Clean and roomy bathroom, and really good red and white wine with very reasonable price. It is easy to find where they are even from far away, just drive toward the tall pink tower (used to be a grain silo).

We had booked the patio for my daughter's bridal shower and they were super accommodating with the whole planning and reservation. The day of the shower it was raining and they kindly moved our party to their private indoor room for no extra cost. Not to mention the wines were amazing!

Fast and friendly service. Small little patio area. A wonderful little stop if you want to do a walk in. Wine wise: wasn't a fan, but it's always nice to try at least once. Thanks!

Nice place in town. It was playoff time so we were watching NFL game while tasting some of their wines. One of my favorites was their Rose. The server and the owner (that is what it seemed) were both very friendly. Its a short walk from downtown, so give them a try!

Super cute little tasting room, with a lot of great wine selections. We also loved Danny and the whole team that helped us with our tasting and purchase. There is an outdoor and indoor section for tastings. Unfortunately no food, but some cheeses and other snacks that you can get. Wine was good, not my favorite winery in Paso, but still we had some favorites in there. I think they focus most of their wines on the westside and have more coastal influences (Apparently West Vs. East is a thing in Paso). Overally super cute, great for a stop in for an afternoon tasting in the sun. Honestly we had a great time.

Derby has an in town tasting room and lounging area outside with lots of tables and seating. Nice area for a band creating a nice ambience and a great vibe for weekends sitting outside! The tasting room is fun and nicely decorated. The wines to me were average. Can't say that any one variety stood out. But remember everyone has a pallet and you may love thier wine! Cheers!

Thank you Sean and Danny for a wonderful time today! We chose this place because it fit our route back home and had great reviews. We had no idea what a gem this place is. Wine tasting is about the wine yes BUT its also about the experience. Sean and Danny make sure your experIence is unique and special. Favorites are 2010 Bouchée D'or and 2017 Graciano.

Pinot Gris... fabulous on a hot summer night of dancing at the Derby. Great customer service...thanks to Danny...we are now members. Cheers!

Incredibly unique place with wonderful wine and very knowledgeable staff. The outdoor patio is perfect for a relaxed wine tasting. Derby Wine Estates is MUST when in Paso Robles!

Derby wasn't on our list, but so glad we decided to stop here. The person who assisted us was so fun, friendly, and welcoming. The $10 tasting fee provided us 6 generous tastes in attractive wine glasses (tasting fee waived with a single purchase) -- and we were allowed to revisit wines, too! Very attractive, contemporary tasting room and quaint outside seating. The wines were reasonably priced. We left with: 2012 Pinot Noir, $38.00 2012 Fifteen 10 White, $24.00 Very fun and enjoyable experience!!

Loved it. Friendly pourer, nice location, and thoughtfully made wine. The Pinot Gris was particularly memorable and highly value driven.

Michael was extremely personable, friendly and knowledgeable. We loved having someone so knowledgeable to show us around so we didn't have to drive ourselves. We visited three different wineries and they were all unique and interesting with a variety of wines. We visited Thacher (6 tastings plus a bonus pour of cider), Whalebone Winery (9 pours - wow!) and McPrice Myers (5 pours plus a bonus). Plus lunch, which was included in the price (sandwich and potato salad and cookie)!!! Great scenery and a beautiful day to enjoy our tastings booth inside and outside each winery. We also learned so much from each person serving us too. Michael also went out of his way to point out local restaurants and favorite bars and speakeasies in the area along the way. Finally, we left a sweater on the van and Michael called us to let us know and he drove back to return it to us. We really appreciated his kindness and great customer service. The reason for writing this review is twofold. First, I want to share my experience with everyone…read morewho may be considering Toast Tours. Second and most importantly, I wanted to thank Toast Tours for a wonderful and memorable experience, from beginning to end. My Wife and I were making our first visit to the Central Coast, and decided that visiting some local wineries would be a nice way to get more acquainted with the area. I liked some of the reviews I had seen on Yelp regarding Toast Tours, as well as watching a a few quick YouTube vids before contacting them. From the very start, Kristina was a huge help. Thank you again. I conveyed some of what were looking to do on this trip, as well as our past experiences in Napa and Sonoma. Kristina did a masterful job of giving us options. Some more mainstream and like we have experienced before, as well as some smaller, boutique style options. Every question, she had an answer and suggestion for, and when we decided to book, I was confident in our choices. Toast Tours also takes care of the reservations, so that's one less thing to worry about as well. We chose to visit three wineries; Tablas, DAOU, and Ciento. All three were an amazing experience (I'll write more about those individually on their pages). I do want to highlight Ciento, however. This was a direct recommendation from Kristina, and they really stole the show. We would have never known or visited this wonderful winery if it wasn't for Kristina and Toast Tours. Our driver, Jimmy, was on time and extremely courteous. He has a wealth of wine knowledge, as well as local area knowledge, and he shared them in a fun and engaging way. He was a great help at each of the wineries, getting us in and out with our reservations, while also assising with our purchases. Thanks again, Jimmy!. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and they provide water and some small snacks, if needed. Another thing I want to mention that was very nice as well is the price. While these types tours can be a bit pricey at times, I feel their rates are more than reasonable. Kristina itemizes everything beforehand, so there are no surprises. If you decide to make some small changes to the itinerary, Toast Tours will work with you, and give you the cost differential. Exceptional service from top to bottom, and I would gladly and confidently book with Toast Tours again..

And God forbid any paying customer -- solo or not -- has a problem with a wine tour, for we can see the level of cordiality, care, and accountability they'll encounter *** The Wine Line discriminates against solo travelers and refuses to do business with them unless you agree to a hefty solo supplement -- for a shared tour! I was once a happy repeat customer, but when trying to book last year, a representative told me, word for word (see emails in photos), this: "We are currently not servicing single passengers due to the work required... your patronage is simply untenable, financially." Wow, my patronage is simply untenable. That's straight up greed with a dose of haughty nastiness. I've never heard anything like that before, ever, from any business, and I've dealt with some truly awful and shady businesses before. Also: want to bring your pup along? No more, and especially if you are traveling solo with one: "It's just a bit burdensome and financially a loss to accommodate a single... particularly with a dog." Wow, we're a bit burdensome too. This policy and this attitude is the opposite of the welcoming spirit I experienced from them before. If they're comfortable sidelining solo guests, I can't help but wonder what other corner-cutting decisions, surcharges, and greediness now lurks behind the facade they project on Yelp and on their website. I truly regret having given them a glowing review in the past. To anyone who heeded my previous advice and ended up deceived, I apologize. Avoid. We don't need to condone this behavior from ANY business.
