We ate here on a Tuesday night. The food was slightly above average. My wife liked the tacos but I thought my pulled pork sandwich was average. They were pretty busy and we were seated by the front window like at a bar but not, the bar would have been better. We were texted that our "table" was ready, not our window bar was ready. It does look cool inside and the 80's music videos playing were great! Food service was fine but it took forever to get our two beers. We were almost done eating by the time we got the beer. This place is one of the best spots in Durango. During a recent stay in Durango we visited twice and ordered take out once. Meals where on point every time. On our last night there, we left a bag with some t-shirts at the table. We did not realize we forgot them until we got back to AZ the next day. This place was perfect for our ladies happy hour. I always appreciate a good cocktail bar with unique drinks and this place did it! Loved this place. During COVID, they expanded their outside eating options so we ate on the outside deck. I had the potstickers (divine!) and my partner had the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries with garlic mayo. The food was good, but we were charged an additional $17 on our bill for drinks we didn't order nor receive. When we brought this to the attention of our server, who was very sweet, we were told that the bar couldn't be wrong.... someone then came to us and told they were checking the camera footage. We waited 20 minutes just for them to come tell us this and then an additional 25 minutes just for them to come back and tell us that there was nothing wrong. They did comp us a little for our time, but I've never experienced customer service like this ever. read more

My husband and I toured CO for two weeks for our honeymoon and stopped in Durango since we were going to take the train ride (which we loved). We stopped into Derailed one night to get a drink and wound up staying for a while, leaving to try another place then came back and shut them down. This bar has the best cocktails we have ever had! No lie the cocktail list is very extensive so it was very hard to choose. The bartender Korey was very friendly and really is a genius behind the bar. I feel in love with Violet Beauregard. It's a blueberry martini that knocked my socks off. I also had a deconstructed New York Sour. I mixed it myself and it was so fun. My husband has a couple different drinks. We can't stop taking about this place. The interior was decorated so cool! Big beautiful trees and very romantic. Make sure it's on your list next time you are around Durango. read more

Our group sat on the patio, which was comfortable with a cute tree fashioned out of lights in the middle of the patio. We tried the chicken potstickers, which were tasty, although the sauce was a little too salty. We also tried the goat cheese bruschetta which was very delicious. I also ordered two tacos: beef and veggie. Both delicious. while the food was quite tasty; the service was a little slow and she forgot to order some of our small plates. I realize that it was busy, but she obviously forgot to put in an order for some of our food. There were no apologies or discussion on why some of our table received their food so much later than everyone else. Especially when things like a goat cheese bruschetta is much simpler and quicker to make than a burger. I would still recommend for the food, ambience, and hope that you get a different waitress. read more

They said we could come and put our name on the wait list, but we were starving and went somewhere else, no big deal. But we kept this place in mind because the food looked delicious. So we called again Sunday afternoon and got our reservation for 7:30. Yes!!!! Upon arrival, they have hand sanitizer right inside the front door, and asked that you read over their covid precautions, require a face mask and a temperature check before being seated. Safety is definitely a top priority, not just for their guests, but also their employees! I'm totally down with that! Cool set up. They have each table sectioned off with window panes and French door dividers, 2 neat looking lit trees and a friendly laid back vibe. There were 5 of us (4 full sized men, and one lady) We were seated upfront at a table for 6, but it would have been tight for 6. Like, it was great for 4 people, but when our 5th did showed up, we had to squeeze in, and forget about getting out to go to the bathroom. Anyways, the menu was a QR code scan away, which we had already looked at online. I just wish they had posted their beer menu too. We were too far from the bar to see the taps or the chalkboard sign above. I just like being able to see what they have in front of me so I can easily make a decision without having to ask the server to name off what they have. Yeah, I have my go to styles, but there are times when I see a random beer that I like that is really far from my usual. They do have printed menus for beers, but we didn't realize it until someone asked. The boys went for beers, a couple ipas, an amber, a raspberry porter and a warm seasonal ale(spiced amber) while I had a whiskey cocktail(As your attorney) bourbon, apricot liqueur, lemon and simple, served on the rocks. It was a light, bright, tart cocktail and just what I needed! We started with some apps, loaded fries and southwest egg rolls. Both were great, but the fries, oh man. Something about the grilled onions with the bacon and cheese and topped with that delicious ranch! I was like, "get in my belly!" After another round of drinks we ordered food. One of the guys got a quesadilla, said it was delicious, another guy got a burger, said it was delicious, my bf got the street tacos( chicken and bbq pork) said the chicken was ok, but the pork was ahhh-mazing, I got the southwest salad, light, crisp lettuce and cabbage, black beans, salsa and corn chips on the side with that yummy ranch, and a bbq pork street taco. I agree, that pork taco was really good. The last guy had dessert only. He wanted the brownie, but also the churros and instead of just ordering both, he was trying to figure out a way to get both, like half of each. I would give this place a lower review if possible. I don't think I've ever experienced such overt racism in my life. I was on the back patio and our waitress ignored both of us the whole time basically threw food on our table and didn't help us out one bit. I think it's extremely important to state my friend I was with was black and throughout the whole night we watched her help two other tables attentively and shocker they were both all white tables. I'm sorry if y'all forgot but BLACK LIVES MATTER!!! It ruined our night and she was extremely upset. Do better. read more

The restaurant was pretty with the lit trees but the experience was sub par. I made a reservation for 5 and we were sat at a table that was long and narrow - you couldn't even sit up to it, so you basically ate over your lap - seated in club chairs and a love seat. The wings were good, but the burgers were not. And $5 for a bottle of Coke with no refills is a little ridiculous. They need to tell you up front when you order they come in bottles... the waitress was good once she came but it took 7 min to be greeted from when we sat down. read more

Went in for drink and listen to the live music which we told our server. We got a seat in a couch which was nice - just couldn't see the performer. my wife got her drink - I was driving so I got charged $4 for soda water out of the fountain which she told us would be the case. Now comes the bad part - the rum and Diet Coke we received was awful - the drink was flat and watery. We told our server and she said it must have come out of a flat bottle and she would tell the bartender - no offer to get us another drink and make us whole. Then she asked what food we wanted (bad memory?). She didn't come back one time to see if we wanted anything else and I had to flag her down to pay the bill. That said the performer which was very good got a good tip and the server got 20% - we normally tip much higher than that especially during Covid. This place is great, hands down. Taking such great COVID precautions. They temp check you when you come in which made me feel so safe (I've never seen a restaurant do that before!) We sat on the back patio and the tables are far apart. They have heat lamps and were constantly checking on us to make sure the temp was comfortable. The inside of this restaurant's vibe is one of the best I've seen. Huge trees with lights and little seating nooks with couches and comfy chairs. You could even see they have plastic dividers between closer tables to separate areas. One of the greatest, most extensive and creative cocktail menus I've ever seen. I got the Cure and it was ! I had seen the jalapeño popper burger on Yelp earlier in the day and was dreaming of it, and it was everything I had hoped for and more. Not too spicy if that's a concern. Upgraded to the truffle fries which were good, but we thought a $4 upcharge per plate was hefty. Overall, amazing place and the menu is so extensive that everyone will find something they enjoy (they even have pictures of everything which, for the indecisive soul that I am, is very much appreciated). read more

Visiting Durango for the fifth or sixth time, my cousin found this gem of a place. The ambiance, the servers, the food, and, oh my, the craft cocktails, are superb. We had a selection of appetizers that we shared between four people as our meal. Every single dish was delicious, but the pot stickers were amazing. I should also mention we had a table near the stage where there was live entertainment, the male singer was sooooo good. I find myself wanting to go back again tonight. I have never been so insulted by a restaurant in my life! My husband and I arrived with our out of town guests 8 minutes early for our reservation. We were told that our table was still occupied and that it would be a 10-15 minute wait. We said no problem, we will wait at the bar. The hostess told us that we could not wait there and that there was no place in the restaurant we could wait. We must leave the restaurant until our table was ready! No apologies, no explanation. As it was about 11 degrees outside, we decided to go across the street and have a drink at another restaurant while we waited. When we returned 20 minutes later, the same hostess told us that we were now late for our reservation and she was not obligated to seat us! We reminded her that she made us leave in the first place, telling us it would be 10-15 minutes before we would be seated. She begrudgingly seated us but as we were sitting at our table, the manager approached us and said we had to leave, saying we disrespected the hostess!! We thought he was joking and he assured us he was not! We left in stunned disbelief. The rudeness we experienced at Derailed Pour House is beyond compare! read more

Very disappointed. We went there for dinner with some family members and I would not recommend. Our order of wings was undercooked and we found plastic material in the nachos. The nachos were also cold. The only food that was right was a cup of soup. I took a picture of the foreign material.
