We were so excited to get to see Tab Benoit on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 here. It was sold out. Upon entering shortly after the doors opened, we were unable to find seating. Huh? Apparently, the locals and staff had "reserved" the few seats available. Folks, this was a 3-1/2 hour concert. The seats on the bottom floor had been removed ostensibly so people could dance. Never saw anyone dance. This surely helped them crowd more in this filthy venue...wonder if they enjoyed standing the entire time? Due to back issues, I am unable to stand for very long. There was NOTHING in the advertisement stating Standing Room Only. I immediately informed management that I required seating or a return of the $75 I paid for two tickets. She was kind enough to pull out a couple of folding seats from a locked closet. Thankfully, they were padded and we were able to place them close to the upstairs railing behind other seats. Not a great view but better than standing. Several others saw the chairs and begged for some, too. That was NOT an option because of the crowded situation - upstairs and down. We talked to several people who simply left after a short time because they grew weary of standing. In fact, we opted to leave before the concert was finished because of the uncomfortable seating, poor view, and incredible rudeness of this "local" Durango crowd...they TALKED throughout this fabulous performance!! Not just during the break, I mean, MOST of the crowd chatted loudly while Tab played virtuoso guitar rifts. We will NOT return to see anyone at this venue ever again and will be picky about the type of Durango crowds we choose to spend our time with. Additionally, the local Fire Marshall will be notified of the dangerous crowd levels allowed in this tiny, old venue with small exit areas/tiny stairwell. A disaster waiting to happen... read more
