Was recommended to go here and left very disappointed. Came her with a girlfriend and our kids. Didn't order much as there were more small kids than adults. The sushi was not tasty at all and the service was horrible. Any time we asked for something (napkins) they would give us attitude like they are doing us a favor. I decided to abandon my favorite sushi place today on a whelm and I am very much a sushi snob ...(so I was very careful in what I chose for the first visit). I made sure I chose something familiar with a little extra and it did not disappoint. The crabmeat they put on here is soo good and authentic ! We LOVE this place for sushi! It's a little on the pricier side but you're paying for the quality. The service is usually pretty good and the waiters are very friendly! I use to this place. When I arrived I was seated but it took a while for the server to come to ask if I needed anything. Once I ordered they brought out part of my food but not all of it. When I asked for the rest of it, I was told it didn't come with my order and I had to tell her ... yes, but I ordered it in addition and then she said, oh let me get it. The California rolls are much smaller than they were but still tasted the same. The sesame chicken was over cooked and hard to chew. Then I felt rushed... as I was still eating they brought me the check and then kept coming by to ask if it was ready. I kept replying I'm still eating. Densetsu is one of the few sushi restaurants that actually make me full. It's a hidden gem since it's rather far from the other restaurants located at the Dallas/Plano area, but it's worth the drive. The portions are huge, and the service was attentive. I ordered their nikku udon while my boyfriend got the red mountain roll. The portions are HUGE, and all the food is moderately priced. While each order only has a few sushi rolls, the rolls are huge. Huge to the point I don't think it's even possible to shove an entire roll in your mouth without struggling. Their specialty rolls are sometimes covered with a large quantity of garnishes to the point you can barely see the rice. We got oranges for dessert when we were handed the check. I would recommend this sushi place to anyone looking for a quick meal. I'm not sure if Densetsu would be considered fine dining, but the sushi is still super good. read more

Came on a Friday and there was definitely a line out the door. We decided to wait, and about 15 minutes later got a seat at the sushi bar. It was worth the wait for the food. Price to freshness and quantity ratio was on point! Ambiance was normal. Service wasn't really that great, but I think that was because of how busy it was... They definitely failed my water test. That being said, the sushi chefs were fast and skilled! They kept pace with all the orders with amazing precision. Average Japanese place, the entire positive rage on yelp is due to the portion sizes. I like high quality sushi and sashimi so I don't go for portion sizes when I go out for sushi. First you can't order direct from the sushi bar you have to order from their staff. Most of them don't speak English, I asked for crab meat as substitute to rice in hand rolls and the server said that they don't do that they put it on the side. When the order came was a HUGE ball of crab meat on the plate which I returned. The poki appetizer is full of tomatoes so it looks huge but is hardly any fish in it. I have never seen a poki full of tomatoes. There are better choice in Plano Texas then this place but if you like HUGE portions of poor quality enjoy! read more

Good is good and portions are great. The place is for couples or a group of four. Don't bring 5 or more, they will not put seats together even when the tables are open. I guess hoping other "couples" will come. Service is ok. Food comes fast. Really biggest downside is the wait time if you are more than four people (like one table) I have never been somewhere where they would not slide two open tables together. The tempura salmon roll is AHmazing and the spicy tuna crispy rice is a must try with all the yummy sauces. The teriyaki sauce is a perfect compliment to any roll but each roll stands on its own and really needs nothing extra. Those two rolls are my favorites because I'm a creature of habit but I have loved every single thing I have ever tried from here. This is a legit sushi establishment. The 3 stars is more like a 3.5. Came here for a birthday dinner, and I will say, it's quite an ideal location for celebratory events like that. I ordered the salmon tower, which is one of their top sellers, and I suppose I can see why. It was pretty big, which makes it worth the slightly steep price, and it was pretty tasty. But there just wasn't anything all that special about it. The first few bites I took were great, but it gets a little heavy after a while. There is quite a bit of their special sauce in it, and it gets to be a little too much. While the salmon seemed fresh, I just didn't think it was anything special. I tried some of my friends orders, and it seemed to be pretty common on a lot of orders for them to use a lot of sauce. If you're looking for a vibey restaurant that has sushi and don't care TOO much about quality, I'd recommend this place. Everyone was helpful and friendly. My wait period was less than 10mind for all 3orders and I was pleased for that. Restaurant wasn't crowded like 6/7'ish period. Wait time seems to be longer due to rush hour. This was my first time ordering jay favorite with the help of staff who recommended it, and it was another huge menu. Overall, this place has earned my trust with their excellent customer services and delicious meal for my family. My kids approved it within days of eating here. Absolutely dissatisfied with the service. I wanted to sub spicy tuna within my roll due to a FOOD ALLERGY. The waiter said that they were unable to sub it with salmon, and proceeded to reach out to the sushi chef confirmed that they cannot sub tuna. I made it clear that I was willing to pay an up charge and was still told that it would not be possible. I've gone to many sushi restaurants within the DFW and have never had this issue.
