I'm going to keep this simple, We stop in one night and they f**ked up eggs and toast. I would have been better off drinking raw eggs from the shell and eating 2 pieces of bread right out of the bag. Over medium means over medium, not over raw, and toast is supposed to be toasted. read more

Every time I've been in this place they take forever, sometimes when it's not even crowded. One time it took well over an hour to get around 6 people their food, but it's not just when it's crowded. I went with two other people around 12am and it still took around 45 minutes. I also always feel bad for the staff, they always look like they hate their job and usually come across as pretty unhappy. It just leads me to believe that they are understaffed and treat their employees badly. I gave them two stars though because they're fairly cheap and the food has always been at least okay for the price in my opinion. It's also important to keep in mind that they are open 24 hours, unlike almost every other place in Ramona. read more

We eat here because it is convenient, cheap, and the food is consistently good. However, the service is atrocious, ALWAYS. We expect to wait at least 10 minutes to be seated, then another 10 before drinks, and at least 20 before we order. We average 2 hours here, and we eat for about 15 minutes. read more

The food is generally ok and cheap. But I can recall a month ago the place was decently crowded and my entire group of people waited an hour for our food. Drinks went empty for a long time and the service was mediocre. Go in a day when you know it won't be crowded by some after high school event and you'll be satisfied with the food and customer service. read more

I'm giving this Denny's 5 stars. Compared to many other Denny's we've eaten at, the service, food and atmosphere are great. We were seated right away, drinks shortly behind. Our server was very nice and our food came out perfect. Come on people, quit hating on Ramona's Denny's. It's better than some of the local cafes around here. This location really needs to pull it together. They have way too many servers and always only have one cook. Every time we have gone in no matter the time of day or night hell even if it's completely empty we have waited well over an hour plus for our food for two people and our kids always share with us. So...it was around 8pm last night (8/26/2015). Family (4 people) decided to head to Denny's, why not?! We should have picked fast food. First, walking in.. 3 employees saw us walk in, not one of them said "We'll be right with you". Nothing. Nada! Finally, our waitress..I'll call her "K"..Decided to seat us in the backroom as the front was closed off. There were probably 4 tables full back there. "K" asked for our drinks, gave our order. Took about 10 mins to get the drinks. Gave our food order, which included 2 side salads. That took 20 minutes just for the salads. By this time it was 8:45PM. We were told the food would be out at any moment. After 9pm, it arrives. My daughter ordered some chicken skillet dinner. The chicken was basically swimming in some unknown brown liquid. Her friend ordered a superbird w/ seasoned fries, that order was correct. My BF ordered a chicken salad sandwich w/ seasoned fries...His order came out with reg fries and the sandwich was warm. Which it should have been cold. They obviously had the plate of fries sitting under the heat lamp long before the sandwich was done. Set the sandwich on the plate for a little while, it turned warm. I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner. Big Mistake! It was burnt, the gravy was milky liquid (not even close to "country gravy"), the cheddar mashed potatoes were old and disgusting. I thought i was just overreacting, I had everyone at our table try it. They all agreed, absolutely gross. By this time i am dying for something to drink...Not once had "K" come around to refill any drinks. She was too busy looking at some child's homework in a booth near us. The service at this Denny's has gone way down hill. Right after the renovation, it was great. All the waiters/waitresses were great. They checked on you all the time, to the point of annoyance. The food was decent and the atmosphere was good. Last night was the worst it has been for us. Look, Denny's is a classic. This location is a classic disaster. We went here for lunch (my kids begged). Never again. First, the waitress brought the complete wrong order to our table. Then, when I finally got my correct salad, I wished I'd taken the wrong food. The cucumbers were slimy, the onions were soggy and transparent. I literally couldn't eat it. When we complained, the waitress was like "sorry about that", walked away and came back with the check (which did have a 4 dollar discount ). The food quality is horrible and repulsive. read more

Ever since the new General Manager took over, (about a year or 2 ago)I'm happy to say we have a Great place for breakfast in Ramona again. This place was losing its food quality and speed of service. But now every time I visit Dennys, they are always friendly, no matter how busy they might be. They are consistent with great food quality and they are fast too. New GM is is awesome, and the staff is great too. I'm sure GM will keep it this way, since it seems like he enjoys his job and he's great at it. read more

I hate this place. It's always a horrid experience but somehow we end up there every once in a while with friends or whatever... This last we gave our order and had to ask several times where it was until we finally left after two hours, sans meal. It had never come. Ridiculous. The friends we were with for their order however, but it was blackened burned.. They sent it back because it was inedible. The food isn't good either, so all in all, bad food, bad service, bad experience EVERY time. I'm done for good, no more chances. read more

I came into this lovely looking bed and breakfast hoping it would be welcoming but instead the workers didn't even help me with my three bags of luggage I had to carry them my self.when I went to take a shower there was only a sink so I had to make it work. And the other people in the restroom looked at me all weird as I gracefully tried to bathe in the sink. And then the manager had to see me out. How dare he I am the Vice President of a paper company in my friends parents garage. He acted like he had authority over me. In all of my dining experiences, I have never come across such absolute terrible customer service. I called the restaurant to place a take out order and the phone rang continuously the first time. The second time, it rang once, then the phone was picked up and just placed off the hook. Where I heard the background sound of the restaurant. I was confused at first when saying hello over and over again. When I hung up the phone and called back to only get a busy tone, I then realized they did that purposely to ignore my phone call. I was absolutely shocked. My boyfriend and I showed up there to place the order (it was late at night, so Denny's was one of the only places open). We walked to the front register and waited for about 10 minutes until the server told us to just sit ourselves and we told her we wanted to place a take out order. We waited literally another 15 minutes for her to finally take our order. The entire time, she was rude and had an attitude and I felt so rushed where I didn't even get exactly what I wanted because I didn't want to be too complicated. Now, I work as a server so I understand how difficult it can be sometimes in a restaurant setting but I would never treat a customer the way this server did to us tonight. I would totally write her name down too, but she wasn't even wearing a name tag. (Luckily, when picking up the food, a NEW server named Michelle helped us out and she was very very friendly) Her shift was @ 9:30, Wednesday night on July 20, 2016. What a difference a new General Manager makes!!! April has made Denny's in Ramona a place you want to eat at again! She has hired staff to cover the busy times. Maria in particular was efficient, professional and timely. Food came out quickly, fresh and hot. We hadn't been there in ages but it's our 4 year old grandson's favorite. now this is coming from someone who hates denny's. my kids and wife are always wanting to go, which i usually won't mostly because the service stinks, no matter what denny's it is. i don't know if the kitchens are too small or the wait staff have too big of a section, not sure. but now to why THIS dennys gets 5 stars, and only this one. my waitress greeted us like right away. never happens. everything was spot on. timely manner for all around service and the food was pretty good. Went to Denny's with my fiancé & coworker. Waited 5 minutes for our drinks. Only to be wrong. Waited 15 - 20 for our house salads. But we were missing one. Waited over an hour and no refill or our actual meal. Had to go ask for a refill. Ten minutes later and still no food. But the couple who were seated 15 minutes after we were were already eating. So I asked for our food to be boxed; and we still had to wait an extra 15.. By this time, the couple were finished eating and getting their recite. read more

Air conditioning on only 1 side of the restaurant. Something spills on the floor no effort is made to clean it up. But the worst is when the waitress comes to the table, asks you what you are drinking, 40 mins later after she has brought drinks for all the other tables around you, comes back and says "I know your mad about not getting your drinks. I would be too." And just stands there and looks at you. Crappy service. New management is holding up to the same standards as the old one I see. One star because no option of zero. Went yesterday with my girlfriend for dinner, walk in only to have the snarky lady behind the counter say " two of you" to which I replied "yes ma'am". She very rudely said "sit there" whilst pointing. Didn't even hand us a menu, I had to grab it myself from behind the counter. This is my favorite Denny's. My boyfriend lives in Ramona so we go here at least twice a week. They always have new waiters learning everytime we go, but they are all kind and curtious, so I don't mind it. I like the new Red, White and Blue menu, check it out! read more

In my work, I travel, 90% of the food I consume comes from a restaurant. I was recently working in Ramona, CA. where I discovered the Denny's on Main Str. I've eaten at Denny's all across America but this Denny's has something special going on. It's the servers! I like to sit at the counter and watch that well-oiled machine in motion. Each server stay on their toes getting out orders, correct orders, as quickly as possible. The thing I liked the most was that they still had time to chat with me. I work alone and eat alone and the conversations were always welcomed. I go to a strange town, stay for weeks, I do my job and leave. Leaving Ramona would be no different, right? Wrong. Leaving Ramona wasn't easy and that was because not only did I get to eat very good food but I made some friends. A special shout out to Valadria! Went to our local Dennys today it was a real improvement. I ordered some nachitos with Pico on the side as an appetizer and it came out fast and hot, our server was nice and got our drinks right away. I ordered breakfast pancakes were yummy, fluffy and hot, turkey bacon crispy but not burnt and over medium eggs that were made just the way I like them and if you know me if there not done right it will ruin my entire meal. My husband had a steak skewer skillet with no potatoes and add broccoli it as well came out hot and fresh with a nice serving of vegetables.
