Dirty Confetti sets up on the patio and plays country while everyone settles in with something cold to drink and something good to eat. No big production. No velvet ropes. Just live music, a laid-back patio, and a crowd that seems perfectly happy to have found the place. I went with the steak sandwich--tender steak, grilled onions, greens, sauce, good bread, and a pile of seasoned potatoes on the side. Nothing precious about it. Just a damn good sandwich. They also have a great selection of local wines and local craft beer, which makes the whole thing feel even more like Ramona. Good food. Cold beer. Local wine. Live music on a Thursday night. Sometimes the best places aren't trying very hard to be cool. They just are.

They were sitting right next to the Julian pies and it kinda looked like a fight, like a battle of the mountain bakeries kind of fight. Needless to say, I grabbed both because everyone immediately glorifies the Julian pie so by including the Ramona pie, my objective was to introduce some low risk novelty for my Christmas get-together. I didn't have high hopes for Ramona's blueberry because I was suspicious of the huge bready looking crust roll in combination with the sticker on the front boasting "no seed oils". I'm not fluent in baking alchemy. I was raised on Costco pie (bleh). So, I thought this was going to be dry and overly sweet but much to my whole family's surprise, Ramona was the winner! My takeaway: Do not discriminate the chubby crust roll! Take it from me because I'm a savage that eats a pie right out of the fridge. The crust is like a shortbread cookie. It's almost on the Italian pastry spectrum. Very delicious. Very coffee friendly. The blueberry filling was also perfectly balanced. It wasn't too sweet and even with the crumble topping, I felt like I could eat it with yogurt in the morning and trick myself into calling it a wholesome breakfast. Now, I'm going to say this with a huge shield up... but it knocked the Julian apple pie way off the shelf for me.

I ordered one kind of on a whim, and wow -- it totally exceeded my expectations. The crust was perfect, the sauce had that rich, homemade flavor, and the whole thing came together beautifully. It was a little smaller than I imagined, but honestly the taste made up for it completely. The place itself is small, super clean, and tucked away in a little strip mall -- kind of easy to miss if you don't know it's there. The staff isn't overly chatty, but you can tell they care about their work and run a tight, organized kitchen. The bright, casual vibe makes it an easy spot to sit down and enjoy your meal without any fuss. If you're in Ramona, SOFI's Pita is definitely worth a stop for lunch or a quick bite. The Greek pizza was excellent... l loaded with gyro meat, red onion, and tzatziki - yum! My only personal preference would be having the tzatziki on the side for dipping, but it was still very good as served. I would love to see them continue leaning into this fusion idea. A chicken shawarma pizza or other Greek inspired combinations would be an easy yes. Based on past experience, they also seem open to customizing orders. The staff is friendly and easygoing, and the atmosphere is casual. We usually treat it as a takeout spot, but there is a steady stream of people dining in their simple, no frills dining room. That commitment to quality and sustainability is commendable and something more restaurants should strive for. The staff is knowledgeable, and it's refreshing to see a restaurant that cares about where its food comes from. Unfortunately, that attention to ingredient sourcing seems to stop when it comes to cooking oils. Many of the menu items are prepared with soybean oil, which was disappointing given the otherwise high-quality and health-conscious image of the restaurant. Soybean oil is highly processed and contains large amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fats. While omega-6 fats are essential in moderation, excessive consumption relative to omega-3 intake has been associated with increased inflammation in some research. Soybean oil is also more susceptible to oxidation when exposed to high cooking temperatures, potentially producing compounds that some studies suggest may contribute to oxidative stress. In addition, many health-conscious consumers actively avoid industrial seed oils such as soybean, corn, and canola oils in favor of alternatives like olive oil, avocado oil, butter, or tallow. I would gladly give Marinade on Main a higher rating if they aligned their cooking oils with the same local, high-quality standards they apply to the rest of their ingredients. Switching to avocado oil or olive oil or beef talo would be a welcome improvement and would better match the restaurant's otherwise impressive commitment to quality. * also loose the standard strip of high fructose sodas and provide more natural optikns of drinks ...

Service was poor by design. This isn't a waited restaurant; you order at a counter and they bring your food out later.
