Cold Turkey salty food hour long wait will definitely not be coming back here very disappointed

The diner has a really great nostalgic​ feel with a jukebox​, red vinyl seating, and chrome tables and chairs. Denny's, in general,​ is really generic food...there is nothing to be added at this location. The servers are hit or miss. The food comes out pretty quickly considering how packed the place can get. Past that...it is open 24 hours...probably it's biggest asset​t. If you are looking for a local and delicious breakfast...drive a mile to the corner cafe. More food...same price...made from scratch. read more

My mom is in rehab and the food isn't what brings people in. Decided to order online and go pick it up for her. The restaurant was pretty well packed when I arrived. I finally got to a server and asked for an estimate of when my online order would be ready. She got my name and that I placed the order online and went to check. Came back and said they were running a bit slow because they were swamped and there was one carry out ahead of mine. I waited... Eventually a carry out is delivered to a couple and they leave. After about 5 min I ask them to check again. They left and came back saying they were still waiting on one more thing to get the order ready and I keep seeing them look in a to-go container. 10 min later THAT to-go gets handed to another customer and I also realize that some customers that got seated after I arrived (remember my order was placed AND paid online BEFORE I got to Denny's) have had their food delivered. I flag the cashier and explain that I am still waiting, customers seated after I arrived fed are eating already, what happened to my order??? She comes back after a minute and says the kitchen lost or never got my ticket and they are fixing it now. Which also means that the other times the staff checked my order status, THEY LIED TO ME! They had never checked my order or would have found out it didn't exist. They also failed to offer ANYTHING as compensation. I will avoid this Denny's in the future read more

I don't like to post negative reviews, but I was very disappointed with my meal at this Denny's. Usually I love Denny's. Not this time. The waitress was awesome. I'd give her five stars if I could rate only her. But the food was awful. I also love the fifties decor of this restaurant, so I was very excited about having a chance to eat here. The two stars I gave were for the wonderful waitress and the fun retro decor. I ordered the Wild Alaskan Salmon Skillet. I'd just had the same meal at a Denny's in Flagstaff, Arizona, and it was delicious there. This time in Post Falls, it was late at night - perhaps after normal dinner hours. There were very few customers. I expected a wonderful, relaxing meal. Instead I got dry salmon, hardly edible - and the vegetables seemed greasy. Worst of all, they left a taste in my mouth of rancid oil. I had to go home and brush my teeth and worried that I might have gotten food poisoning. Very disappointing, and a waste of money! Overall, I think the restaurant has potential for great meals but the cook that night, perhaps, was just off his game. I wondered if the dry, overcooked salmon had been cooked for someone else earlier and reheated for me. I also wondered if coming late at night means using the same oil that's been used for other fried foods all day long. And I even wondered why the vegetables were warmed in oil rather than steamed. I wish I had complained then, but I'm the type that never complains about a meal. Perhaps I need to change. It took me more than half the meal before I realized how awful it was, and by then I thought the time for complaining had passed. Like I said, the same dish I had at the Flagstaff restaurant was awesome and definitely worth reordering - but not in Post Falls. I think if I ever go to this restaurant again, I'll stick to the breakfast menu. read more

2 stars for the food which was good. Service was a mix of servers who hated their life to servers who provided service as if this was their first job. Went on a Monday brunch time which was not crowded and food took forever to make. There was more than 4 cooks in the back so I did not understand this. I am curious if our server forgot to send our ticket back in. Definitely don't recommend this particular Denny's. read more

Came in at 6pm. This place was super busy and loud... I'm a big fan of Dennys, but the server told us that she was too overwhelmed. Our food was wrong, and it took over 45 minutes to bring us our waters... And we never got our other drinks. Today was horrible, and I won't be back during regular dinner hours. read more

Awful service, awful food, and awful prices for the awful food. We waited for what felt like an eternity (40 mins) to have our order taken ( we were seated and then totally forgotten about) and then waited an additional 30-40 mins to be served our food - which was disgusting! Biscuits were hard as a rock, sausage in the gravy was a sketchy pink color, and the portion sizes for the dinner meals were small and pathetic. Our waters were only refilled once in our almost 2 hours of being there. our server was dull and didn't even know what sides our meals came with. We witnessed multiple upset customers during our visit. Overall it was a terrible experience and we will never dine with Denny's in Post Falls again read more

Had a good, but predictable breakfast here while in the area for Ironman. Service was friendly, food was good, and the cost was spot on. I will say that the pancakes seemed a little sweet for my liking. Also, one of our menu's was very "sticky". Our server was quick to get us a new one. read more

The experience at Denny's was horrible. First of all, there were three extremely loud diners at a table next to me making the whole experience a headache. The food was worse than usual. Dear Yelp, This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had, I don't know why I keep going back, it must be because there's nothing to eat in this stupid little town. I just wanted a nice breakfast after a stressful morning, and what I got was terrible service, mediocre food, and was forced to leave a tip that was not deserved. Now, I understand if someone is having a bad day, but the whole restaurant cannot have a bad day. Things happen, and I understand, but this is inexcusable. When I arrived, I was greeted by a not so nice waitress, who seated us. And when I asked about a specific item on the menu, she was rather rude about it, saying she couldn't write it up because it's not on the menu, even though you can customize everything else. And when I had previously gone to that same Denny's a few days earlier, I asked the same thing, and the waitress said that was alright, she would just have to write it up differently, so honestly I think the waitress I had today was just lazy, and disorganized. And when we went to pay, another staff member greeted us, she was sorta rude and snappy. And when I finally went to pay, I asked her to split the bill, and she straight up ignored me. So I ended up paying for the both of us, and she asked me what I wanted to leave for a tip, and when this happened, two other staff members were standing there, and I didn't want them to know what I wanted to leave as a tip. So I also ended up leaving a bigger tip than I wanted because I didn't want to seem like a horrible person. And when I was adding up the tip, she prompted me to be faster, and kept insisting on hurrying up, even though we were the only one's in line, and one of the few left in the restaurant. And quick side note, during our meal the waitstaff was fighting behind the counter for all of the restaurant to see, over who was more argumentative. Upon arriving to Denny's customers are greeted with an interesting aroma that smells of stale pancakes and lost dreams. On this evening in specific we were only ignored for 5 minutes while waiting for a table in their mostly open restaurant, a new best for this Denny's. My party and I were escorted to a lovely corner booth located by a stunning array of images of motels. Breathtaking. 15 minutes go by and the whole table is as thirsty as a group of camels walking through the Sahara, but luckily our waiter came just in time! Our orders were placed and we were forgotten about again. Some time goes by and we eventually have the displeasure of hearing the unfortunate groans of an overweight nascar fan being rude to the helpless waiter, classy move post falls. Aside from the less than impressive crowd, the environment was acceptable. Now for the food. An acquaintance I was with ordered mozzarella sticks with the life expectancy of 10 minutes, which came with a portion of mozzarella sauce fitting for an ant. Stop what you're doing. If you're reading this before you've ordered you're in luck. You have just enough time to order their absolutely delectable pancake puppies. I'm being serious. Luckily I've attached an image comparing the stock image of the puppies and the real thing, try and guess which is which!! I bet you can't. (The real ones are black). Mid-meal a gentleman who looks like he just came in off the street began playing a wonderful symphony with the vacuum, making sure to get every inch! We'd been on the road in a rental truck by night for too long, turned off I-90 at a Denny's in Spokane just as bars were closing and immediately agreed we weren't that desperately hungry! This Denny's just a few miles into Idaho was an unexpectedly blissful oasis. Cool retro diner look. Staff instantly seated us at a booth with sightline of our vehicle. Coffee was fresh; service was disarmingly stylish as well as swift; my cheese omelette and my buddy's burger were exactly what you would hope for but would not reasonably expect to find at a 24-hour chain restaurant in a thinly populated area in the dead of night. II haven't been In a Denny's in a really long time so when I was through Post Falls I stopped for a late lunch. I ordered a steak and the usual sides and everything was great. A little late on the coffee refill but no big deal, the waitress was otherwise efficient and nice. My 22% tip expressed my appreciation. Thing is.......when I first walked in and later when I left the hostess-cashier-desk people were sort of unpleasant. Not hostile, more like they were mad at the boss or something. Though tonight, beings that Post Falls rolls up the sidewalks at 9 pm, we had no other alternative for a sit down dinner.The waitress was fine for a waitress, not her fault. We went in after a hard day of work, the 4 of us at approximately 9 pm. There was a family of 5 in a corner booth and two people at the counter. Yet, there must have been at least 5 waitresses. We ordered our meals, almost 45 minutes later,we were served. For an empty restaurant, it shouldn't have taken so long.The omelette ordered was the size of a cigarette box,and the hash browns, about 2 tablespoons. The bacon burger had burnt bacon and maybe 10 french fries. The Caesar salad looked like a head of lettuce popped open and some chicken thrown on top. Dinner #4 was a grand slam. The sausage was under cooked and barely any hash browns. We had to ask twice for our toast. I paid $51.00 for this measly dinner and had 3 grandsons leaving hungry and disgruntled! I will never visit this place again and will not recommend it to anyone. It is a rip off and they have no pride in their business. I visit other Denny's and always get my money's worth for a nice meal. Please bypass this place! read more

I have not been to Denny's in along time. But I have never been disappointed in their food. But yesterday, I ordered the bacon avocado cheese burger. Sounds good right, but the avocado was full of brown spots. ( which to me, I would of thrown it out if at home). My daughter had breakfast. The white of the eggs were clear, which means it's not over easy and under cooked. The pancakes were burnt. She did not eat much of her meal. I am surprised it was served by the waitress. Of course we didn't complain and just paid and left, but the more I thought about it, I figured I would write a complaint. Shiny Shiny Shiny Denny's! Have you seen it? It's like an Airstream on the outside and a 50's diner on the inside. I have been here about 5 times and have never been disappointed. We have even had the manager seat us and bring us water, with a big friendly smile. The thing with any restaurant, the food is only as good as the current cook and I would say they have a great cook at this time. The waitresses are nice and do their best to remember your coffee during busy times, though like ALL Denny's, I do find myself waiting sometimes. This is a great Denny's. I've never left a 5 star for Denny's but this one deserves it. Good, small town place to be. The decor is fun, the food is good, and the servers are older- which is really nice. Brings you back to how things used to be. Warning: Sometimes you'll get a newer server and that is too bad because they aren't given any training and if they are new, forget it! But if you get an experienced server, you'll be very happy. (so ask for a server that has been there for a long while) read more
