Passed by Gross Donuts near our hotel and looked up reviews. After seeing the good reviews, I had to check them out! Donuts were so fluffy and fresh. Staff was nice. Looks like a lot of locals come here. We went on a Sunday morning and they had a great variety!

They have all the traditional donuts you expect, and they are very fresh and delicious. We picked them up after having lunch across the street, hoping to have them the next morning. They didn't make it to breakfast, with the family devouring them when we got home. Oh well, I should have kept them in the car hidden lol. I would certainly pick up another dozen should we be in the area.

Best donuts. Not greasy, fresh and airy. No heartburn. Delicious, best maple bars.

We have been going here for years. Post falls worth the drive. Too bad the coeur d'alene location closed down.

I had never been to a shop that has a donut filling station right there where you can pick out your own flavors!

Gosh how I hate to leave bad reviews - but the truth is the truth…read more We tried this spot a few weeks ago - it was an afternoon ..... we grabbed an apple fritter and a cake donut. They both were oddly dry and the flavor was kinda off - we decided it must be due to the late afternoon and were willing to give it another try. We stopped by yesterday to grab two coffees and two donuts. The apple fritters looked SO good - I mentioned to the young lady working the inside counter "oh man - we tried an apple fritter a few weeks ago and it wasn't very good" we discussed that they looked so delicious so we I decided to give the fritter another shot and grabbed one and my husband grabbed an old fashioned. As the young lady was getting our coffees I reached in and broke a piece off of the fritter and took a bite - yep ... it was much more fresh but the flavor was just off again. I decided I'd grab a different donut and chalk it up to the fritters just not being to my liking. I had not paid yet - so when the young gal came back with coffees I said "I'm going to get another donut - I tried the fritter and I don't like it" and ordered a cronut - I was told "You still have to pay" - I was taken aback as I didn't imply nor state I didn't want to pay- I wasn't expecting anything for free - the fritter wasn't to my liking and I wanted something else - I never asked for anything for free and had no intention of getting a "free donut" - it not in my wheel house to try to finagle a free couple buck donut. I gladly paid my bill - sadly I didn't tip because the interaction was offensive - walked out the door and tossed the apple fritter in the trash. Needless to say - we are still on the hunt for a new donut spot. My husband did say the old fashion donut was decent - he mentioned maybe they use a different kind of oil and that's why the donuts taste "different" to us - and the cronut was okay but again the flavor is just a bit different. All this first world problems over a fritter - it's really just a lesson that not everybody that doesn't like your fritter wants something for free.

Unfortunately, the experience was just as bad if not worse. The employee helping customers was clearly unhappy to be there and was openly rude to the people in front of us. When it was our turn, he treated us the same way. Many of the product tags were incorrect, which caused confusion while ordering. Each time we asked for clarification, he rolled his eyes or responded with obvious annoyance. When we politely mentioned that the labels were wrong, he simply stared at us and said, "What else?" I work in customer service myself, so I understand that tough days happen but this level of attitude was shocking. To make matters worse, after ringing us up he picked/scratched his nose and immediately began helping the next customer without washing his hands. Customer service may not be the right fit for him. Sadly, this visit confirmed why we stopped coming in the first place. (Tall, brown hair in a ponytail).

Personally, this is the last time to set foot in this store. If your business is going to do without pennies, then the change should be .30 cents instead of a quarter.

Still Love the Donuts, But the Birthday Reward Experience Has Been Disappointing (Second Year in a…read moreRow) This is my second review--and more specifically, the second time I've had an issue with Hello Sugar's birthday coupon. Let me be clear: I absolutely love Hello Sugar. Their donuts are amazing, GLUTEN FREE the shop is adorable, and I've been a loyal customer for three years. I truly have a passion for this place. That's why it's hard to even write this, but I feel like I need to be honest about my experience. The first year I got the birthday coupon, it was great--no problems. But last year and now again this year, things just didn't sit right. This year, my birthday fell on a Wednesday. I was busy all day and couldn't make it in, but I was really excited to stop by the next day and use my birthday coupon. I'd even told my friends about it and planned to share the donuts with them. When I got to the counter, I mentioned I was there for the birthday coupon, showed the code, and was told it had already expired--on my actual birthday, June 18th That was shocking. Most places give you a few days after--or even a full month--to use a birthday reward. I wasn't asking for something unreasonable. I just missed it by one day due to a busy weekday, and I genuinely didn't even know it expired on the birthday itself. What made it worse was the way it was handled: no "happy birthday," no kindness, no flexibility--just a flat, "It's expired." It really put a damper on something that was supposed to feel special. And to be honest, this is the second year in a row that I've walked away from a birthday visit here feeling disappointed and a little embarrassed. Any time I come in with a coupon or reward, it feels like I'm being treated differently--like I'm doing something wrong by trying to redeem what they offered me. I'm not asking for free stuff all the time--I happily support Hello Sugar all year long. But if you're going to offer birthday rewards, they should feel celebratory, not frustrating or awkward. And a little grace and kindness can go a long way in those moments. I still love their donuts, and I want to keep coming back. But honestly, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth--and not because of the donuts.
