So delicious and I'm not even a donut person but those traditional donuts are absolutely perfect.

I can't say enough good things about Mike's. The staff is so lovely and helpful. The customers are a hoot and will tell you exactly what you should get. I'd say I'm an apple fritter a girl. I love the apple and cinnamon flavor but I don't love the grease or the icing. An apple Persian from Mike's is exactly what you're looking for. Beware, if you order a dozen, you might just eat them all. read more

My husband LOVES apple fritters, so in his search for the best of the best, we stopped at Mike's. The apple fritters from Mike's ARE the best. The dough is tender and filled with apples. This is what makes people become fans. This was our first visit, but obviously the place was filled with regulars. The woman at the counter was so friendly and patient - even with a crowd of people waiting. I grew up in a really small town - where everybody knows you. This is the first time I've walked into a place and felt like I was 'home'; a nostalgic vibe that took me back 60 yrs ago to when I was 5. Thank you Mike's! read more

Been coming here since I was a kid and the donuts are still as good. We still go every once in a while and their donuts are still the best! Highly recommend the blueberry but you can't go wrong with any donut seriously! read more

They make the best donuts and won't hesitate to make a special order for you. Everyone should experience them!

Not a huge selection on different types of donuts, although just enough. Excellent old fashions, cake, glazed multi choices and at least 1-2 fancy ones. Good hot coffee. AND THEY ARE SO FRESH AND WARM ! read more

By far the best donut I have ever had and believe me I have been traveling all over the place. I heard Mike sold the business but the last time I was there, the donut still taste amazing. Got lucky right before closing (noon), and came away with some real nice treats. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I did enjoy the cinnamon roll with lunch. Needless to say, the other offerings were devoured by my aborigines upon arrival back home. Friendly and helpful lady helped us at the counter, and did not rush us at all for her to close shop. Very fresh and decently priced for the quality... read more

They make the best donuts!!! I was so happy when they changed to be open on Saturday's

5 stars for "old fashioned" cake donuts. A woman owned local establishment. Was passing through on a trip and greatly enjoyed the visit.

Took me a while to get here since they're only open on week days, but totally worth the wait. Super fresh donuts that aren't too sweet! My favorites were the apple fritter and peanut butter w/ chocolate. read more

Donuts were okay, nothing to really rave about. The cake donut was dry; my crullers frosting was transparent (you could see through the chocolate frosting). Seemed a little greasy too. Service was great the counter help were cheerful and responsive. Location was a little confusing; the gas station threw me off. read more

I was visiting from CA taking care of my friends three daughters. It was a bit of a drive from where we live but the reviews made it too good to pass up. We got there around 8 o'clock and I didn't have any hopes of having an apple fritter since I read you had to get there really early in the morning. However they did have some and they were delicious. The donuts were delicious and still warm. One of the girls got the last donut with sprinkles and her sister was so sad because that was the one she wanted. The lady who helped us was the friendliest person and offered to make one just for her. What great customer service. I noticed they had a group of regulars sitting at the counter. Even they were super friendly to us. If I lived in Spokane I would make sure to go to Mike's Old Fashioned donuts as my go to donut shop. It was definitely well worth the drive. Thank you for taking such good care of us. read more

Mike's Old Fashioned are great donuts. Very good selection. I recently began coming here and have liked it every time. The first time I came, it was close to closing and they gave me 2 for 1. That scored some big points. I have come a couple more times after that and always enjoyed the donuts. One thing to note: certain donuts come out at certain times. I forgot to take a picture of the schedule, otherwise I would add it as a photo. The next time I go I will get a picture and add it. From what I remember, bars and cake donuts are in the morning, Persians around 8:45, and other donuts following. Persians I remember because that is what I wanted but I was too early. Grr. But I will be coming back! NOTE: they had a specialty donut one of the times that I was there. Called a French Kruller. If they have this donut when you are there... please do yourself a favor and get one! read more

The simplicity of this place is what brings me back. I am all about supporting small businesses, and a sucker for a good donut. The outside is a little deceiving because when you drive by here on Sprague, it just says Donuts above, and it's attached to a gas station, so it makes it look like this is just a gas station that has donuts available inside. But this is it's own separate store with an amazing production going on inside. Every time I've been here, 3 or more people are constantly cranking out fresh batches of donuts to keep the case stocked. And they go quickly, so come in the morning! The donuts are priced pretty well too, around $1 per donut. And there's nothing frozen or artificial about it. These donuts are great! I highly recommend picking up a half dozen or two to share with the office without breaking the bank. The blueberry or the red velvet donuts are my faves. read more

We stopped here on Friday, and picked up a couple of donuts, they were out of fritters when we got there. The star donut is they maple bacon bar, it's massive, and the flavors hit all the right notes. We also got a glazed donut, and 2 crullers, one with chocolate, and one glazed, but we haven't tried them yet. I called and spoke with someone from the Spokane Valley store, and she gave some good advice, if you fritters, as they are one of the most popular, stop in and place an order for the next day, so we did so. We went in and ordered 3 apple fritters, 2 cherry, and 1 blueberry. Today 8/16, we picked them up. We just tried an apple fritter, it was good, definitely a 3.5/5. Still feel like the maple bacon is better, but nonetheless, the donuts are huge, and its hard to go wrong with any donut, unless its super dry, this is a solid donut shop here in Spokane. read more

I've had to try a lot of Apple Fritters in my life because my dad is a basically an apple fritter connoisseur. After heading great things about Mike's donuts, we finally decided to try it out and were not disappointed! I knew beforehand that the fritters go quick, so I showed up when they opened at 6AM. Unfortunately they didn't have any made yet, and only had a small selection of donuts around this time. The staff politely told me about the various times donuts are made (posted a picture of the times to Yelp) and told me that Apple Fritters are made around 8AM. Once I came back at 8AM, the case was filled with different donuts and a fresh tray of the Fritters. If you decide to try this place out, I suggest going around 8AM to get a wide range of different donuts! The donuts were fresh and delicious, and my dad and I both agreed that these Apple Fritters were the best we ever had. You know others think so too because there's a limit of 6 per customer. read more

Wow! That's about all I can say. I have driven by many times and I just thought the donuts sign meant the Hico station sold donuts. I didn't realize it was an awesome donut shop until I did some searching. Fresh, awesome donuts is what you will find here. All unique and not just the same donut layered in different toppings. There are specials each day. Some are only made a few times a month. Donuts are not greasy, nor are they sickly sweet. Service is awesome. They asked if I was going to get any maple bars so they knew what size box to use. They don't stack donuts here. You won't find all the different varieties in the case at once since they are made fresh. There is a schedule of when they are made. I need to come back when the apple fritters are being made as I hear they are fantastic. There were plenty of regulars in the store at 6:30. Many seemed to know Mike personally. Prices are very reasonable as well. I think I paid $15 for a 20oz coffee and 13 donuts. (Yea. I had to get an extra donut for myself) Truly awesome. I have finally found the perfect spot for my occasional donut fix. Just wish I had found it sooner! read more

Friendly staff, fresh donuts, and an inviting atmosphere. What a great experience! We decided to go here because of the high reviews. The reviews did not disappoint. The daily specials they had were great. The Persian (a cinnamon roll donut) was nice, light and full of flavor. The best part was getting to watch the staff interacting with people and making donuts. They were constantly making donuts to order for people. If there isn't something in the display case, ask if you can get a fresh filled or frosted donut. If you have an opportunity, get a fresh apple fritter. It was a little piece of heaven. read more

The locals are going to kill me and I'm sure so are the owners... But I wasn't all that impressed. Granted, I came after 6:30am which apparently means only unwanted donuts are left. The mapels I got were good but nothing worth the time I waited in line or the 15min drive there. The service is just as the walls warn with their tacky service (or lack thereof) signs. If you get there early enough, perhaps they have some really tasty treats. I'll never know. read more

You don't have to go anywhere else in Spokane Valley for doughnuts! Not ever. Ever. You hear me? This place is fanfreakintastic! The doughnuts are fresh and oh so naughty! The ONLY ones I will buy on cheat day from now on! My hubby and I got a maple bacon bar filled with Bavarian cream as a special request and ate them in the car. Five minutes later, we went back in and got another special request of a Bavarian cream filled bar for my hubby and a blueberry filled bar with powdered sugar for me. The doughnuts have a light crisp on the outside, and are fluffy and soft on the inside. The fillings and frostings aren't so sweet you feel like your teeth are going to fall out. I usually hate maple flavored anything because of the sweetness, but these were well done! AND the service was A+++++++! Thanks, Mike! We'll be back very soon! read more

I honestly love Mike's Old Fashioned Donuts! The apple fritters are the best I have had, and usually are still warm. Sweet on the outside and cinnamon and real apples throughout. The maple bars are another must for me. It's not a frilly shop, and feels like the real deal when it comes to the old school donut vibe. We have a lot of experience when it comes to donuts, being from Los Angeles originally- these remind me of back home. And the slightly secret spot where they are located makes it feel super legit. Check them out, but go early! They close at noon, and by 10 am the apple fritters are usually gone! read more
