It's a good restaurant for what it is... def on the level of a place like Red Robin (Red Robin may be a little better). The mall location has tight seating, and honestly the outdoor seating in warmer weather is the best option. We've eaten here several times; the service is friendly and talkative, and the food is decent. Their adult drinks, like the icy drops, are delicious if you're into fruitier drinks. I esp enjoy their salads, with the Mediterranean Salad being my current favorite. The restaurant appears to be mostly clean, but the tables (unless you're in a booth) are very small, and the seating is snug. With four kids, we wish the seating were a bit more comfortable. read more

We ordered lunch to go to take to my Mother-in-law for Mothers' Day. She is home bound but has enjoyed Hops n Drops in the past. The online ordering is HORRIBLE. I tried the night before and the morning of and the correct menu would not come up. Breakfast food or not showing the lighter lunch specials. I called in and placed the order directly with them. This was great for them to do. I ordered the mini western burger and my wife and her mom ordered the mini fish and chips. My burger did not taste like it had any bbq sauce on it. Luckily I ordered a side of bbq so I was able to support the lack of sauce on the burger. The buns didn't taste toasted. It was good otherwise. The mini fish and chips were good but fries are hard with a to-go order and so they were very soggy. My M-in-L was happy so that's all that mattered. I'm not even sure the name of our server, he didn't introduce himself. Just an asshole. Kinda tall with pierced ears. Basically called us stupid 4 different ways bc we weren't familiar with the WA law requiring ID to sit in the "bar area", which is really just a booth 20ft from the actual bar. We just moved from AZ which is definitely not as cutthroat. He barked at us asking "are you minors?" in the worst tone you could imagine, sarcastically gave the "are you not from here??" And topped it off by smacking the "no minors allowed" sign as he led us out of the bar area and said "see? It's posted right here" Was just an asshole guy for no reason. We sat down to get food we didn't need to be bombarded with sarcasm and annoyance just for being there. We are both 26, just did not have 1 of our IDs on us. We were 1 of 3 groups in the restaurant, I would've thought he wanted more tip money. He looked 18, which was pretty ironic. He sat us on the other side of the place, which is dirty and grungy. The carpet is disgusting. We left before ordering. Probably will never go back bc of that 1 server. Other employees were even looking at him, seemingly wondering what was shoved up his ass. Wife and I just had an early dinner with Hop's & Drops. What a dismal experience! For what they charge. My wife ordered the Mac & Cheese that was advertised as creamy! Her Mac and cheese was penne pasta and lacked the creamy portion of her dish. Just a dry bowl of pasta. The bread they served with it was some bastardized take on garlic bread, flat bread! My mushroom burger had about 4 slices of mushrooms that were barely cooked. Burger lacked flavor and wasn't seasoned at all. The tater tots were a mess of crumbs and bits on my plate. There was no love what so ever in our meal and for what we paid they should be ashamed of what they put on a plate and call a meal! I used to really like this place and always said I'd never been disappointed, but after having two bad experiences in a row I sadly cannot say that anymore. Both times I received sub-par food that I couldn't eat. One of those times included being forgotten that we were even there! I had to tell someone and a very nice bartender took care of us and took our order. He apologized and tried to make things better. I wish I had his name! Ryan aka "Texas" was our server tonight, not only was he on top of everything and getting our food to us in a timely matter but he also checked in on us frequently and took time to listen! They had new cheese sticks they were trying out which had a thicker center, they came out frozen at first and not only did Ryan apologize profusely but he also replaced our cheese sticks and added a 10% discount to our entire bill!!(score) but seriously the service was great and the food was amazing! Been here a few times, overall it is pretty good. The menu is nothing really revolutionary other than some interesting takes on Mac n Cheese, but everything I have ordered here has been very tasty. They need to hire more staff, at least out front, and maybe in the kitchen as well. Anytime we have sat in, it takes a long time. From being seated to having a server come for the initial drink orders to getting food order placed to getting food to getting bill. It all just takes a long time. Being right next to a movie theater, this is not really a good thing, as people probably want to eat and get to the movie quicker. Interior is very meh as well. Hops n Drops has become our go to place in Spokane Valley. The Servers are top notch, very pleasant and efficient. The kitchen puts out consistent food every time we visit. They have a varied menu, mostly pub style food, but they do vary it by season. They offer a good selection of drinks. Lastly they support local charities which is a good plus. So we were feeling like a burger and we found this place on DoorDash and the photos looked good so we gave them a try. Man, I'm glad we did. The food was delivered really fast. I guess I'm gonna work backwards and start from dessert because donuts are kind of my crack and they had mini donuts. They were beyond good. They were cinnamon and sugar, but they still had a crispy outer crust right before you bit into the soft fluffy donut. I've never seen a cake donut get crispy like that. I love being surprised by food and this was a fantastic.one. I got the western burger. I'm not gonna lie. It was a little pinker on the inside then I would have liked, but I stuck my finger in there and it was hot all the way through so...moving on. I got crispy fries. They were good. The garlic tater tots were my favorite. They were crunchy and garlicky, hard not to keep going back for more. I'm visiting family from California, and we came to have dinner here on Friday evening. When we walked in and told the hostess how many were in our party (6) it was almost an inconvenience to get us seated. Once seated the waitress was very attentive. However before our food was brought out to us we were informed that our entire meal was going to be "on the house" due to the long wait, which in our opinion was not long at all maybe 20 mins if that. Food was good while eating it, but once we got home all of us who ordered a burger got food poisoning and began throwing up nonstop. I am 8 months pregnant and ended up in the ER. About 2 or 3 years ago they were good service then, had good food. Today, after not being in the establishment for about a year, I went there again. Hasn't changed, but has improved! Casey is the manager, her and her staff are very polite and courteous. They treat their customers great. Got to chat with a few, kind and courteous. They open at 8 am for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. I'm going to try it. Yes they do have good food, as I've eaten dinner there. I'm sure they won't let me down. There isn't enough stars so 5 it is. Highly recommend it! Yes, the beer maybe a little over price, but look at their overhead in a mall setting...they are worth the price. My husband got French onion soup and a Caesar salad a Siberian mule and a Long island iced tea off of the happy hour menu. He enjoyed it all. My daughter got a peach tea unlimited refills and a barbecue chicken salad. We walked in on a Friday night around 7 and had to seat ourselves which was no big deal, but most of the tables were dirty so we sat at the bar top. We're glad we did because we had the best service. I think his name was Tegan and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He got our drinks right away and let me sample some beer before ordering. I wish I could leave a -5 star review. This was the WORST dining experience I've had in recent memory. I ordered a salad and when it came I asked if it was a full size and she said yes. It was basically a dinner salad- it even came on a dinner plate. They also charged me a dollar just to change the type of chicken- it came with chicken but to change the type of chicken was extra?!? $15 for a dinner salad...WTF?? He got a french dip and said that if he wasn't so hungry he would have sent it back, he said it was way below an Arby's if that tells you anything. He asked for swiss cheese and for one single slice of cheese it was a dollar! This place has terrible food, way overpriced and tiny portions. We will NEVER go back again. I wish I'd checked other's reviews before going here. Should have been a sign when every other restaurant was packed and they had about 5 tables with people. I was a little hesitant to try a place in the mall, to be honest. However, I'm happy to report I was pleasantly surprised! Daughters and I visited after a long day of shopping. We all got salads, and their friend got taquitos which looked really good. The girls loved their side of fries with the salads. The chicken in my salad tasted freshly cooked. The bill was $70 for 4 of us. Salads were about $15 each. I was expecting pretty sub par food, but it was better than expected for the mall. Not super busy for a late Sat afternoon.
