The ambiance, atrium, and overall feel of the place makes it 100% better than a Barnes & Noble. Has a small bookstore and gift shop. This is my second time here and it has so much potential. The coffee drinks seemed watered down or flavorless. To be more cost effective and environmentally friendly, consider large coffee cups and froth designs. Be creative! One here yesterday for a coffee date with a friend. It's kind of over on the other side of town so I wouldn't normally go over there, but it's gonna be a regular trip now because it was the best coffee I've had in CDA in the last five years. I had TIFF'S SPECIAL: iced white chocolate mocha with tiramisu and coconut, topped with a coconut cold foam. I asked him to go light on the ice and quad shots. This coffee was perfection! read more

I adore the cafe (although the prices are quite high, so it's not somewhere I can go often). It's cute, comfortable, and a good place to get work done. The rest of the bookstore is cute, with some fantastic corners for curling up to read or relax. HOWEVER.....I'm very disappointed with the contents of the bookstore. There's a lot of new-age and astrology stuff. Most of the "blind date with a book" packages said they had LGBTQ content. It's a beautiful store, but it does seem out of place in Post Falls, Idaho. That said, as you walk through, note the chandeliers. They are different in every part of the store and are so pretty. And if you are with friends try the breakfast board. It's a little easier to stomach the cost if you are splitting it, and it's delicious!! read more

Just brought a Caesar salad from here back to my office (very close by). First, the atmosphere is great. They really designed this for the "urban thinker". Aesthetically pleasing, open environment. People can come and enjoy a coffee etc. and book or work on office or school assignments or just gab with friends. The salad? Very authentic dressing. Fresh ingredients. No complaints. So why not 5 stars? $15 for a medium size salad! Seriously? I mean this has 4 ingredients. (Fine, several things in the dressing and mixed greens instead of traditional romaine.) And yes, all the menu items seemed overpriced. So not somewhere to go on a regular basis. Pity. Would be a great place to frequent as long as your stomach isn't in need. read more

This is my second time at Kindred and I finally tried the breakfast plate. It is absolutely delicious!!! They gave you massive amounts of super thick bacon and the sourdough is absolutely perfect. I thought the eggs were cooked perfectly as well. Staff is always super friendly and I love coming here to read or get some work done! There aren't a ton of books in this store, but the memoir section is generous and the children and young adult sections were nice as well. The food was great. Lots more than on the menus. Self serve. A bit on the higher side but large portions not a lot of room for large groups and they did not take reservations. We saw a lot of the tables being taken up for smaller groups that were the larger tables. If you use maps turn left instead of right at the roundabout. There were people in our group that were misdirected. read more

My wife and I were very excited about this place opening up because the area could definitely use a new cafe. The food was very overpriced for what it was -- $17 for half a bagel with salmon is kinda steep, given we're in Post Falls, ID. The problem with this place is that they market themselves as a family friendly establishment, however the entire cafe and bookstore and plastered with witchcraft references -- spell books, tarot cards, crystals, hand and ball sculptures, and wallpaper with witches and wizards. The children's section in the book store had so many dark book too -- definitely not kid friendly, at least by my standards. Now that I've seen what this place is actually about, I've warned others about it and I will continue doing so. read more

Mary and I stopped in here for the first time today. This is a new business, the building is new and beautifully constructed. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our coffee selections were very good. We shared a bagel sandwich, my wife loved it, for me it was good but a little bit heavy on the pesto. We also tried a lemon macadamia nut cookie, delicious. The book store areas are nicely laid out with plenty of places to sit and read. You should get in here and give them a try! read more

Been here a few times now and the coffee is subpar each time, burnt to the taste & not enjoyable. Food is expensive for what you get, $17 for half a bagel with salmon and $24 for breakfast board with mostly waffles on it. The location is great and the building is super nice. Absolutely beautiful and very expansive. This coffee bistro/bookstores is exactly what was needed for the area. The prices are comparable for the area and the food selection is creative and fresh. The have a large seating area which I appreciate and service is fast and consistent. The bookstore has many reading areas and provides more than just reading material. You can find stickers, bookmarks, candles, and more. Considering it's a very open industrial space the warm homey feeling you get creates a nice balance. I definitely plan on visiting both the bookstore and bistro often. read more

Kindred and Company has become a safe space for me. I don't mind the titles that surround me, I choose to ignore the ones I don't "agree with" and enjoy the ones I do. There are so many good reads yet to be found within their shelves, and I look forward to each moment spent here. I spend most days off and weekends in their upstairs cozy reading space, or on the downstairs couches. The vibes this establishment brings screams comfort and I love it. I do feel the line in the cafe is typically long, but you do choose to stand in the line, you can always move on if it isn't for you. I feel their coffee is worth the wait. I love to grab an americano and sip while I read for a couple of hours! read more

One of the loveliest coffee shops I've been to so far! I love that it is more than a coffee shop and a bookstore; it is a meeting place/study space/space for everyone. I ran into some of my students studying here (great natural lighting and a lot of seating!). Spaces too for larger parties, and plenty of spaces for intimate dates. I hope one day they have more local stuff in the circulation too. read more

Kindred & Co Bistro is a really nice neighborhood coffee shop. I love coming here. The windows bring in all the natural light and ambiance that makes this place different than all the rest. Although the tea is reasonable, I just paid $12 for two eggs--deviled eggs, but the devil was in the price. The food prices are outrageous. I understand inflation, but unless those two eggs were made of gold, I'm not getting them again. Kindred & Co has does an excellent job on the buildout! The space is amazing (maybe the best in broader CDA / Post Falls region). Worth a visit to see how well dialed the buildout is. The food was a bit hit or miss. Generally good though. The breakfast sandwich is excellent, the lunch sandwiches are decent, the panzanella salad (pictured) is really just a massive plate of croutons with a little sauce and some slivers of veggie mixed in (I wouldn't recommend). The staff is generally friendly and there are plenty of workers there. The bottleneck is definitely the register (the two times I've been there is only one register operating and given there are plenty of drink orders, it can be slow). I've knocked my rating down a couple of stars because this place is definitely flying their feminist, progressive banner. It's not rubbed in your face, but it's consistently encountered throughout the experience. Naturally, the owners can have whatever opinions they want. But books on feminism, transgenderism, and a lot of obscure products related to tarot, astrology, and the like. Plus snarky and tacky products like mugs saying "Don't be a di**" or "I f**king love you." If you're into that type of thing, then you might like it. If you aren't, then you may have reservations about supporting this place and entrusting your kids to enjoy the (well built out) kids section upstairs. I personally am bummed they clearly have an ideological agenda they are subtly pushing with their product choices. They have decided it's important to promote certain ideologies instead of just being a benign cafe and bookstore. Again, that's their prerogative, but this reviewer (and others I know that went with me - and I'm sure many in the region) certainly don't respect it. Absolutely gorgeous building, and although I'm looking forward to trying something from the café, the three or four times I've been in there the wait has been too long, so my review will focus mainly on the bookstore. As others have mentioned, the book offerings are vaguely to extremely liberal. Lots of Stephen King but not a single Dean Koontz - that kind of thing. Lots of titles that reek of DEI. Four separate titles by the Obamas, but no conservative authors that I could find. And the religion section is 27 books. Not 27 titles, but 27 books total. Do better, Kindred and Company. To survive you're going to need more business than just from the liberals driving over from Spokane. Oh, and the staff is best described as aloof on the verge of rude. Great addition to Post Falls. Finally, a new destination to go to. We needed this! I do hope they expand the book section a bit though. We went after it just opened, and it seemed to have been merchandised pretty bad. There was a lot of almost empty shelves, and not that many books to be honest. I like to think it was just teething problems with stock. But I hope they end up having more than just the run of the mill books you can get anywhere else. It did seem like it couldn't quite decide if it was a book store with a cafe, or a cafe with a book store but whatever, it's very welcome. read more

Stuff is HORRIBLY overpriced ($18 for a clear glass mug, less than 12oz) and almost nothing is labeled ‍ The girls at the counter were playing loud obnoxious videos and goofing off while people were trying to shop. It was incredibly unprofessional and rude, especially as some people were just trying to enjoy a quiet read. The selection of books is vastly subpar (only 1/2 a shelf dedicated to history), a lot of the rest of the store focusing on astrology and witchcraft and I almost fell down the stairs as I miscalculated a step as it didn't have a gold stripe like the rest of the staircase. In addition to being the most aesthetically pleasing coffee shop and book store in post falls, the food was also awesome. Had lunch today at The Kindred & Co Bookstore and Bistro. It certainly lived up to the great reviews it's gotten. The restaurant is bright, big, airy and urban cool. The floral wall paper fits it perfectly! They have a wide range of food choices, and I had a hard time deciding between the Grinder (with Italian meats and olive oil to satisfy my New Jersey expectations!), Bahn Mi or the Croque Madame. I finally decided on the Croque Madame because it came with an egg on top. It was fabulous but no pictures because I dug right in. Mom had the Paris to go and it was simple and good. Both of our lattes were delicious. The book store is in a separate part of this beautiful building and it's filled with interesting gifts and books.
