Lived this place. Breakfast is still very good love the hash browns. I would occasionally get a burger in the past they were juicy and nice sized but now the patties look machine made and are dry. Fries are fantastic but so sad about the burgers. I will only go for breakfast read more

Visited Harlow's today for the first time after driving past it all week. Really nice dinner with great seating. It's surprising how big and open it feels while still being very homey. We got seated right away and the booths are comfortable for regular and plus size people. Waitress was friendly and quick to come to the table. We were given enough time to check out the menu and socialize without feeling like we had been forgotten. The food is a great deal for the price. We averaged about $17 a person for an entree and drink. Portions are large and very filling. Only downside is the hash browns didn't have any flavor. I love harlow's and wanted to try something different than I usually get this time and got the pancakes, I was really surprised and disappointed to get what appeared to be dry microwave-thawed hotcakes as pancakes, they were so rubbery and hard to cut through. Last thing you'd expect a diner to cheap out on :( read more

We have been to Harlow's twice now after driving past for years. Very happy we stopped. Breakfast is very good. I am a snob for biscuits and gravy, this has been probably the closest to my/Grandpa's gravy. No, it's not a match but it is much better than most. Hash browns are crispy and tender, the eggs are cooked well (too much water in the poached egg bowl, but that's everywhere). Bacon, while thin, is tasty. It is a diner and it lives up to its moniker and does its job well. Service has been great on both visits, the booths are comfortable, and the wait was non-existent (both visits on Sundays, even though the parking lot was full). This will be on a regular rotation for breakfasts that include, Hoot Owl, the View and Connie's (all long drives), Michael D's (great all around), La Cochinito (weekend brunch with the best poached eggs in town), Bells/Chompers (did someone say cinnamon rolls?), and Garnet Cafe (lemon curd and raspberry jam). read more

This is a great restaurant with a diner vibe. The coffee is good, not strong/burnt and not weak. The hashbrowns were amazing - obviously homemade and tasted delicious (not too greasy!) my kiddo had the waffle and said it was the best waffle she ever had (and that's the only thing she orders at restaurants so that's high praise!). We are local and eat here frequently. They run specials and have decent pricing. They are busy and sometimes there is a wait, but it is rather fast. Some employees have been there awhile, so that is nice to see. They had razor clams and calamari steaks on the menu that have now been removed, and the coffee isn't always hot that they refill you with. My husband and I were here to enjoy breakfast Saturday morning. What a fantastic dining experience we had! First off, then food was excellent. Omelet, hashbrowns, pancakes, sausage...all cooked perfectly, served hot and fresh, and very flavorful. Secondly, extraordinary service. Dolly was, hands down, the best server we've ever had anywhere. Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and apparently a mind reader as we didn't have to wait for anything, our every want anticipated. Coffee topped off the moment a mug got a little low, water refilled instantly, hot sauces brought to the table before food was put down - all without us having to ask or wait for any of it. It was clear to see everyone working there was operating together as a team. Things ran smoothly and all were friendly with a smile on their face. So nice to see! Stopped by this diner yesterday. I am sorry but the atmosphere is so stark, everything is gray. They need to get rid of that! And the fake flowers, the carpet, the Waterfall, all of it. It is like walking into a crematorium. They had the Excellence award for cleanliness at the hostess station. And right behind it were 8 tall glasses of water ready and waiting for the upcoming customers. I found this to be a bit gross to have this at the front and I am not a vidphobic person. We sat and listened to 90's dance music in a restaurant with a handful of really, elderly other patrons. The food was ok. The hash browns tasted like grease, which was unpleasant. I had the chili cheese omelette and it was pretty plain. All in all, not that great. It is good if you are hungry, but as for me, I won't go back. read more

The food is excellent quality, great portion sizes and cooked perfect every time. I love breakfast food, I like my hash browns cooked-not served cooked on the top layer and mush inside. Harlow's cooks them perfect every time! Their sausage links are fantastic. The grilled ham and cheese-so good! French dip-yummm! I haven't had a bad meal here yet! I was excited to see Razor clams for breakfast, I mean that just sounds different and good. Sadly, they were out of clams. The server suggested the Calamari and eggs if I wanted different. Well that sounds right up my alley . Sold! I was wondering how the Calamari would be prepared? Most times it is just fried in crispy strings pretty much, so imagine my surprise when a big ole slab of white Calamari steak was placed in front of me scrambled eggs, toast and all. I was amazed, it was big, as big as my hand and about 3/4" thick. It was broiled, I guess? The buttery flavor went well with the squid taste and I really enjoyed it. The other times I was there it was plain to see that the servings were substantial. The omelettes are very big, the Polish Jack was my favorite. Also heard the Chili Omelette was very good . Wow, this place was exactly what I would expect from a diner. Great food, large portions for amazing prices. We especially loved that you can make substitutions. Four of us ate adult portions for only $60! Also the parking lot is plenty large enough for us to park our truck with travel trailer attached. The staff were all very nice, as well. I'm guessing not alot of Yelpers in Rathdrum, this place deserves more reviews. My husband and I we passing through on our way to CDA North 40 and decided to stop for breakfast. I'm glad we did. Good parking lot, nice and clean restaurant, friendly staff, really good food and great price. We sat at the counter and thier was plenty of room not squished with the person next to you and you get to see the cooks really turn out a large amount of food. We will be going back and if it was closer we would make it a frequent breakfast and lunch stop. PS they close at 2 pm daily only breakfast and lunch. read more
