Pile of fries that came with my burger
    Annalise A.

Yum yum yum You got to try this place! Cute locals place- sunny decor. Great service - Myah was amazing Good prices for large portions. I got a Peach Bourbon burger It Came with a good size patty lots of cheddar cheese, shoestring fried onions, not too sweet barbecue sauce and actually had peaches on it! My friend got the Buffalo chicken sandwich which was like franks sauce but better, not just vinegar-y but also had spice. Tasted good with the pickles it came with. Both came with a heaping pile of fresh fries that had skin on them so you knew they were fresh and made out of potatoes They offered fry sauce which was delicious and better than ketchup - not as sweet with thousand island vibes without the pickles. I didn't think I liked thousand island but this stuff was gooood We shared what I thought were gf berry scones but might have been biscuits, they were more doughy then expected but still good. Fun to try once but prob wouldn't reorder. Came with blackberries, blueberries and strawberries and the end of their fresh made whipped cream lol. I'd come back for the brunch because I've heard good things! We missed it since we came around 2:40pm But they have happy hour wed- Fri from 11am -4pm so that was def temping since we hit that time slot and the prices were good on the happy hour menu. Can't wait to go back and try brunch or their burger with mashed potatoes and Birria on top!

We stopped here for brunch on a weekend. The place was quite crowded and had a 20minute wait time, although our table was ready sooner than expected. We got some coffees and a couple of benedicts -- Idaho benedict and Virginia benedict. I loved the Virginia benediction which contained shrimp, fried green tomatoes and poached eggs. The portion though small, was perfect for me and tasted great. The food took quite a while to arrive, something to keep in mind if you are hungry, you'll need a bit of patience. The staff was friendly, and service was good.

    Shrimp toast (oh my God!!!!)

It's rare that I extend a 5-star rating, but man, Izzy's earned it. We arrived around 4:30 on a Friday afternoon, without a reservation, and waited for about a half hour for a table inside. The moral of this story is make a reservation. We ordered the shrimp toast (oh my God!!!!) for an appetizer. Let me say it again; oh my God!!! Enough said. My boyfriend had the Midtown Madness burger. He snarfed it down and enjoyed every bite. I ordered the soup and salad combo, opting for the house salad with grilled chicken. The greens were super fresh, the chicken was perfectly grilled, and the tomato soup rocked my world. The restaurant is small, clean, and comfortable, and service was excellent. I've added Izzy's to my "favorites" list.

A Flavorful Gem in Coeur d'Alene - Comfort Food with a Cultural Twist Izzy's Comfort Kitchen was the first restaurant I tried in Coeur d'Alene, and it truly set the bar high. While dining options in the area tend to lean toward American diners, breakfast joints, and Mexican fare, Izzy's stands out with creative takes on Southern comfort food and cultural influences--even offering hints of Egyptian and Caribbean-inspired flavors. The menu features dishes you won't easily find elsewhere, like oxtail soup, fried green tomatoes, and shrimp with grits, all elevated with bold, unexpected twists. They also proudly display their "Best of the Islander" awards, and it's easy to see why--with options like a standout Bloody Mary and plenty of gluten-free offerings. We visited during Happy Hour and sampled a variety of dishes. The wings were incredibly crispy with a unique, flavorful dry rub that was unlike any I've had before--deep, savory, and absolutely addictive. The shrimp were charred just right, though slightly overcooked for my taste, but still rich in flavor thanks to their sweet and savory house sauce. The fried green tomatoes were softer than expected (I was hoping for more crunch), but they paired nicely with the vegetable sides. The fries were a last-minute addition--we spotted them at a nearby table and couldn't resist. Thin, golden-brown, and extra crispy, they did not disappoint. What really made the experience exceptional was the service. The staff were attentive, fast, professional, and kind--bringing us extra boxes and condiments without us even asking. The entire atmosphere lived up to the restaurant's name: warm, cozy, and comforting, with rustic yellow décor, floral accents, and bar-style light fixtures that added charm without feeling kitschy. We were seated right at 11 a.m. on a Wednesday, and by noon, the place was packed--always a good sign. Between the flavorful food, inviting atmosphere, and thoughtful service, Izzy's Comfort Kitchen is a gem in Coeur d'Alene I'd definitely come back to--and recommend to anyone looking for something deliciously different. Jordan.... My most favorite waitress ever.

Food was fantastic and very home style, which makes this place fantastic in itself. However, we got double lucky and had Jordan as our waitress. She ROCKED it!!!!!!!

My family loves Izzy's Comfort Kitchen. My hubs and I have also attended special dinners there, which never disappoint! I have tried things I would never order on my own, and WOW!! Surprises me each time. Reannan is also a very special person to create such a wonderful atmosphere and hometown feel. If you prefer GF, eat here. If gluten doesn't bother you, you still need to give them a try. I always found Gf bland, but not at Izzy's! I can't say enough good things about this place.

Outstanding atmosphere. Amazing food! Great service. They do care about your experience. Love the Vibe!

Seasonal berry compote on top of a GF biscuit topped with whipped cream - served warm
    Amy W.

We ate here for the 2nd time when we were in town recently. I have Celiac and felt very safe eating here (everything on the menu is either already GF or can be modified to be GF). We ordered the seasonal berry biscuit with whipped cream to start off and it was amazing....BUT, it came with a hair embedded into the biscuit (actually baked in). We asked to have it remade and barely got an apology for the hair. The next biscuit came out after our meals, so we didn't can get to enjoy it fresh because we ended up taking it to go. I normally don't ask for a restaurant to comp food, but I was surprised that our waitress didn't mention anything about compensating us for the hair in our food. When I brought it up, she looked annoyed and said she'd have to talk to her manager. We did get the dish comped, but she was clearly not happy about it and again, almost no apology for the issue (which is pretty disgusting). I had the chicken strips and fries and the strips were amazing! White meat chicken that were breaded perfectly. The fries were also yummy, but way over seasoned and over salted. We went around lunchtime in July and there was no AC in the place. They had a fan in the corner that when I walked by it, it was barely even blowing air. I was pretty uncomfortable and hot the entire time we were there. We would have sat outside, but they were packed and didn't have any outside tables. Overall, we like this place. This time, the service was mediocre at best and the hair in the food put a bad taste in our mouths, but the rest of the meal was good. Definitely make reservations early. I went online the night before for the next day dinner reservations and they had nothing. We were able to get a lunch reservation, though.

It feels like you somehow wandered into a slightly spooky Disney bayou attraction that also happens to serve brunch. Decorated to the nines and immersive, it is both a meal and an experience. We went for an early Sunday breakfast and were seated quickly. By the time we left around 9 there were still a handful of open tables, but I would guess reservations are smart from 9:30 on. I started with a cortado made with Evan's Brothers beans. They also offer a chicory blend if that is your thing. Our waitress was attentive, answered all of our questions, and was great about a few modifications we asked for. They do have some gluten free and vegetarian options, though not a huge amount of gluten free. We started with the beignets and they were excellent. Perfect portion for two with a couple topping options. I would go back just for those. I ordered their take on eggs Benedict and my husband had the classic breakfast plate. Both were really flavorful, but the seasoned potatoes were a standout. Portions are generous, we ended up getting two more portions out of the leftovers. Overall, a really fun and memorable brunch spot. I am looking forward to going back for one of the events when they have live music.
