Waffle Slam®

This is one of my favorite places to eat at locally especially since it's open 24hrs! The service, food and overall customer service is consistently good. Even when short staffed or busy, the quality is still there and can be seen in the food and customer service. I happily drive a bit further to the this location instead of the Santa Rosa one.

Stack of Pancakes Sausage

I ordered this meal for delivery through doordash and my dasher brought me someone else's meal. I communicated with doordash and while they offered me a refund, the restaurant offered to remake my meal free of charge. Despite that small mixup, the pancakes and sausage were delicious and hit the spot, satisfying my late night craving. They also gave me an appropriate amount of syrup and butter (i like my breakfast food drowning in them both). My food also arrived fairly quickly, which I liked because pancakes have a short shelf life and don't taste well reheated.

Senior omelette, sub pancakes for toast.

I'm actually glad it's not closer to home, because I'd be here all the time. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the whole place has a great 1950s diner vibe with old photos, memorabilia, and music from that era. I had the eggs benedict both mornings, once with the house potatoes and once with the hash browns. Both potato sides were excellent. The house potatoes had crispy bits, creamy centers, and a dollop of sour cream, while the hash browns were crisp outside and soft inside. I swear I cannot make potatoes like that at home. The eggs benedict were also outstanding. Instead of a thin slice of ham or Canadian bacon, they used a real ham steak. I love eggs benedict, and these were some of the best I've had. My partner had the chicken fried chicken one morning and chicken and waffles the next, and loved both. He also shared a biscuit with me, which was very good. I was tempted by the biscuits and gravy on day two, but the eggs benedict were too good not to order again.

The inside is very clean, spacious, and modern, which is a big plus. Their music playlist was also super cool. We were visiting the area from SF for an event and decided to check this place out because it was close to our hotel and let me tell you I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. You should give it a try! We got the breakfast burrito on tomato wrap and huevos rancheros with a side of a single banana oat pancake. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful and they had about 8 waitresses on rotation serving everyone, super efficient operation and amazing food served up fast! Highly recommend!

What I ordered: The Sonoma County burrito for $19. You're given the choice between bacon, sausage or chorizo for your protein. I went with the sausage and for my side I got a fruit cup for an additional $3 instead of the breakfast potato's. Additionally, I ordered coffee which comes diner style for $4. They brought out milk and sugar and when they noticed our cups were empty they filled them up promptly. The coffee was nothing to write home about but it did the job. My husband and dad both ordered the steak and eggs which come with a side of toast and I know they had options but looking back it's not listed on the menu. My husband got the rye, my dad got the sourdough and his partner got the English muffin which looked fluffy, inviting and home made. Overall my burrito was okay, good flavors but a little underwhelming. It lacked protein and was not evenly distributed with the protein that there was. I do wish I went with another option for breakfast. If I were to come back, I'd try another offering. If I could give half stars I'd probably rate cafe mimosa a 3.5 but am rounding up to 4 for the fast and attentive service and will have to come back and try what they specialize in... mimosas and a different breakfast option.

The seasonal menu's offerings were ideal for a rainy April day, when their cassoulet, bocadillo and other cozy options provided the comfort food we were craving. I loved the colorful tables and tasteful decor. It was clearly a regular lunch destination for many of the diners. The bar was packed during the rush, around noon, as well as the other indoor seats. My lunch friend mentioned that the restaurant is owned and operated by a husband and wife team: Annette and Brian. The regulars were greeted with familiarity. It wasn't the kind of place where you're rushed for your order, nor is it a dine and dash location. The menu - both food and drink - has tantalizing options, so it's best to come back repeatedly. My Turkish Coffee arrived quickly after I ordered it, despite Annette being the only server on the floor. I enjoyed the Bocadillo too, especially the pickled vegetables that accompany the sandwich. For those complaining that the portions were small or that the prices were high, the quality of ingredients and depth of flavor are worth the cost and my portion was more than enough to satisfy my appetite, plus I left with the other half of my sandwich as an offering for my hungry twenty-something at home. We ordered a rice pudding for dessert and dug in before I was able to snap a picture! It was delicious though, with the poached blueberries and almonds offering an ideal balance of texture and flavor to earn this simple dessert my esteem. Next time I want to try the beet & sour cream cake though!
