After an afternoon of brewery visits, nothing sounded better than a Moons Over My Hammy! I cannot remember the last time I went to Denny's (because we have SO MANY choices) and I'd never been to the one in Petaluma. Hubby and I split that meal and he ordered a vanilla milkshake to complete the deal. He loves how they give you the extra shake container as well. :) Service was SO fast and friendly. We eat here fairly often. We love the value meal. And the employees are very nice but the reason I'm writing this review is to talk about your server Diego. Diego was in street clothes came in to eat with a friend and saw that they were one server down and the older guy with the black hat super nice we like him too. Diego was a superstar today. He jumped in and started running food taking orders, refilling people's coffee. This kid was above and beyond. I went over to the manager, a gentleman of Indian descent, I believe. And told him "you need to give Diego a raise" we're always happy with the service here, but Diego watching him run around while his food was getting cold on the table, making sure that everybody else was taken care of it was above and beyond and my family and I were completely impressed. I also made sure to tell the manager and Diego himself how impressed we were. You don't see very many "kids" have this kind of work ethic. That will take this young man very far. This is one of my favorite places to eat at locally especially since it's open 24hrs! The service, food and overall customer service is consistently good. Even when short staffed or busy, the quality is still there and can be seen in the food and customer service. Nevertheless, this location is very clean and I was happy they're open 24/7. Well worth the extra money for being open at 11:30 pm on Thanksgiving Day. Otherwise, paying full price on the regular menu just doesn't seem wise and not much of a difference in terms of amount of food you get but you do pay a lot more. After a late night at Graton, we were hungry and didn't want an overpriced bowl of Pho from the food court so my wife suggested Denny's. Not expecting much from a Denny's as our recent visits have been pretty bad. Maybe it's just the Vallejo locations because this Denny's experience was great. Our server was friendly and very attentive. As for the food, everyone was very surprised at how good it was. I had a Value Slam, 2 pieces of French Toast, 2 eggs, 2 bacon for just $6.99. The French Toast was as good as I've at any diner. The best part is everyone's order came out right. Our group has already decided we're going back after our next trip to Graton. read more

I ordered this meal for delivery through doordash and my dasher brought me someone else's meal. I communicated with doordash and while they offered me a refund, the restaurant offered to remake my meal free of charge. Despite that small mixup, the pancakes and sausage were delicious and hit the spot, satisfying my late night craving. They also gave me an appropriate amount of syrup and butter (i like my breakfast food drowning in them both). They brought back the Value Menu so we went with a friend for dinner. Everything was back to normal - great service, great food and portions, and an excellent price for everything. We were happy. My last review still stands for the regular menu. Seems that the Value Menu is not available all year so next summer we'll know. I'm a loyal customer for the Value Menu at Denny's and that's it. A few years ago, this Denny's location was in a shambles. Then it was fixed up and reopened, and now it looks great. Today, I finally decided to give the place a try, ordering a Denver Omelet (which is my standard order to get the measure of a restaurant). And I'm here to tell you: this is the best Denver Omelet I've ever had in my life! I think the cheese was doubling as a kind of zesty secret sauce? Anyhow, very delicious! I asked the waiter to compliment the chef, which I don't believe I've ever done before, but he absolutely deserved it. Poor service-waitperson took order without writing it down and only brought one of 2 orders. Came back with second order and totally disappeared for rest of our visit. First bite of hamburger I knew something was wrong with mayo. I had to spit out and unfortunately felt sick rest of night. Couldn't tell anyone because only one other waitperson working. My friend and I went to the newly, remodeled Denny's restaurant today. What a great experience! it looks fabulous, and it's super clean. Our server was a very nice young man, super polite and very attentive. It was great. I got my first "senior meal" from Denny's lol and it was really good. I think it's called the senior omelette but I'm not sure. Anyway, it was a generous portion and I was able to substitute pancakes for the toast at no additional cost. I also got a side salad. The salad disappeared before I could take a picture of it! Soooo good! My friend got a fried chicken sandwich, chocolate milkshake, and a lava chocolate dessert. She said it was delicious! I can't say enough about the server, he was polite, kind and very attentive. The name on the receipt said he was Nelson H. My friend and I had a great time talking about our fond memories of Denny's and the fun times we had there when we were younger. It was the perfect end to our day of shopping, and we enjoyed it very much! The food was spot on! Everything was cooked to perfection! They definitely have got it right! Go try them and enjoy! Ok....so let me preface this review by saying that the only time I would even consider eating at a Denny's restaurant was if it was the one and only option for food! So imagine my surprise when the honey suggested he wanted to check out the "new" Denny's. The biggest surprise was that I actually really enjoyed my breakfast here. I mean it was flawless! The remodeled restaurant is bright and clean. Service was friendly and attentive, and both breakfasts were really good. Their new sausage links are really flavorable. My cheddar eggs were cooked just the way I like them. My breakfast came with generous portion of perfectly fried hash browns. I cleaned my plate! The orange juice tasted fresh squeezed. They even actually toasted my "toast" which is a pet peave of mine. I hate when restaurants just warm up a piece of bread and call it toast! Their breakfast deals are still pretty goid, but I opted for a grand slam, which like everything else costs more now. When I am craving a good breakfast out, this place will definitely be one of my top choices going forward. Hands down the BEST buttermilk pancakes I can ever remember!!! I ate almost half before I even thought to put syrup on them, they were that good. This is my favorite breakfast food and I've been eating 'em for many many decades so that's saying something. I will most definitely be back, even if it's driving from Santa Rosa. So glad to see this diner reopens after years of mothballed. The exterior has a new coat of paint. The interior has been redone even more. Quite inviting: clean and freshness all over. The menu has a new look although the items on the menu are still our familiar foods. They still make them like what we remember them to be. We went there for breakfast and we were not disappointed. New servers were friendly, prompt, and very attentive. We ended up leaving a 20+% gratuities because of the excellent service we received. Keep it up and we will definitely hang out there more often. read more

I would give a 0 star if I could. After being seated at a table and asked if I would like coffee, I again had to ask my waitress for coffee. She quickly brought my coffee, and tried to rush if before taking my order. Once she took my order I did not she her on the floor until I left. She was standing in the "servers area" or checking other guests. After trying twice to get her attention for a coffee refill. I left with out eating. I will not be back. read more

I've never been a Denny's fan, it was always just a place to go if needing a meal when other places are closed. I'd been to the Petaluma location many times in the past, pre-Covid, and never had anything good to say about it. But now it has become really enjoyable! Stopped in for a meal when coming home from a late flight in August and again last night. Wow! What a difference!!! I've never been to a Denny's where the staff was so helpful and genuinely seemed to care about their work! So attentive, obviously taking pride in their work and happy! This location recently has been refurbished. New landscaping and interior/exterior touch ups. We had been to this location episodically over the years because they were open late and were available when arriving on late flights. That was the only thing it had going for itself. Hadn't been there since the pandemic. 28 Aug 2023, had another late night need for dinner after returning from travel. What a difference! The place was much cleaner. The menu had been updated to provide some additional veggie and gluten free options. The food actually looks like the menu photos. Customers didn't seem ready to rob you. The biggest positive change.... the staff. They were smiling, energetic, and soooo attentive to the customers. You could see that they genuinely were enjoying their work and coworkers. The drinks never stayed empty. The wait staff periodically checked in to see if we needed anything. Food was cooked well with freshness. Never felt rushed to pay and get out. Because of that positive experience, went back 19 Sept for late dinner. Different staff but still had the fantastic experience as previous. Never thought I'd recommend a Denny's but wow! Thank you staff for going the extra mile for your customers. Thank you manager(s) and franchise owner for your hiring, training, and support to the staff. It's obvious that this is working. On Veterans Day, my grandfather a vet and 74 years old went to Denny's to get his lunch, sat there for an hour ignored other veterans were served and ate their food before he even had a chance to order. He asked multiple times and the waitress just shoved off saying it's all in the order rotation. finally after an hour and a half to go home hungry and shaking because, he has diabetes, and his blood sugar was low at this point. On 2/29, I ordered 2 "Giddy up melts" via door dash. The food was delivered relatively promptly. The problem was it was 2 cubes of meat and a slice of cheese on sourdough bread. Pics included. The lovely meal cost me $72.00. When I called back, I was told there's nothing can be done because it's corporate. This is a local restaurant and should be able to reconcile a simple problem. Horrible service. My husband and I walked in and the manager was at the cash register, helping a DoorDash person and looked over at us and said sit wherever you want. We sat down and after almost 10 minutes, I asked the waitress that never once turned around and acknowledged us for menus. It took her a minute, but she brought them over and said oh I didn't even know that you didn't get any. Meanwhile, we were at a completely empty table. we waited a little bit longer and no one ever came over to take her drink with her or anything so we left. On the way out. I told the manager that they need better customer service. He said oh sorry that's for your waitress to do. Definitely will not be returning there ever again. Saw they reopened a couple days ago & we were so happy to see them back in Petaluma. When Sunday afternoon projects prevented me from cooking because it was to late, we decided head up there. We were immediately seated at 7:00 pm. Tina came by, took our order & was back with our drinks very quickly. We enjoyed the updated interior while our food was prepared. Noticed a smaller selection on the menu, but makes it easier to choose. I got the Cali Club & my husband got the bourbon burger- both with fries. Had our food pretty quick, hot & fresh. My sandwich was so good, love the sun dried tomato mayo. My husband had a very juicy burger with crisp bacon & our fried were perfect. Tina came back to check on us & we were very pleased. We watched as a constant stream of people come & go. Tells you we needed a sit down restaurant that stays open past 8:00 back in town that doesn't cost $$$$. My only 1/2 point off was it was pretty cool in there & we were not the only ones to notice. The staff was running around, so I'm sure they didn't notice.
