We ate at this location yesterday. My husband was immediately unhappy when we received our drinks. His cup had a white residue surrounding the rim that appeared to be cascade or some kind of dish washing soap. He let it go but was disgusted and said we're never coming back. Our server wasn't very attentive and forgot my side of ranch so I didn't touch my food until I was able to find him. It also bummed us out that they don't offer a standard chicken Cesar salad. The only Cesar salad they have is info that includes bacon and avocado so my daughter did not touch her food. Probably won't come back read more

Waited for server, waited for drinks, waited to order, waited for food, check, boxes etc. when we got our food we didn't have napkins or silverware had to wait while our food got cold, asked for straws three times never got them. Ordered an avocado chicken Caesar salad it didn't have avocado on it had to walk in back to get servers attention bc she didn't come to our table. Horrible costumer service. We were there an hour and twenty minutes total basically waiting the whole time. Complained to manager but he didn't seem to care said they were slammed. They didn't look busy. Made a bad call going here. Resturant was extremely cold due to the AC was on full blast. Ordered the Ranchero Tapilia which was ok but the masked potatoes was cold and the waitress (Emma) very came back to check on me. No refills on coffee no checking on the taste of the food. I had to go to the register to get my check and even then there was more drama the register wasn't working properly. I will not ever return or recommend. 5/23/11 2:00PM I am a senior that has visited this Denny's many times in the past, along with every other one with in 5 miles, and have never had such bad service by the apparent mgr. When we first entered he was no where in sight , so after waiting 5-10 minutes we got the lone server's attention and she had us take a empty booth our selves. This poor girl was doing everything by her self. We got great service from this one person, but when the meals arrived for my wife and I the senior pot roast was "grissley" and tough and the portions were really small. During the meal I observed that the apparent mgr. was absent for approx. 15 min's at a time and entering and exiting customers were required to wait for the lone server or seat them-selves. When the guy did show up he hung around for a couple of minutes and disappeared again. I believe this establishment has gone from a well ran company location to a new franchisee. Since the change-over it has gone down hill in SERVICE and FOOD quality. I will not come back to this location. I also wrote a like review and submitted it to the corporate survey people. I believe this restaurant and the one located on Melrose Dr., in Vista are owned by the same people. Location is understaffed for how busy it is. I'm not an unreasonable person but if I'm waiting a solid 30 mins (already seated and placed my order) to get some breakfast, I expect it to be hot. I ordered the American Slam and my wife ordered French Toast Slam, not difficult orders by any means. My eggs and hashbrowns were luke warm, bacon was a bit colder than the rest of the dish, and my toast was an after thought. Luckily my toast, again after being forgotten, was hot when it came out. My wife was OK with her food but I'm assuming it's cause she was just hungry. It's obvious that our food had been ready for a little while, just no one around to serve it. So -1 star for cold food, -2 star for lack of service/nonexistent service. Food was pretty decent though, albeit cold. My advice, if this place is busy find another location. read more

The Food was prepared to our liking. Had a Bacon and Guacamole Hamburger the char reminded me of a diner style burger, real tasty. The chicken Strips were nicely fried and the honey mustard dressing was excellent.There were 2 salads ordered and both were of nice size and I was told they tasted great. The waitress Melanie M was very nice and kind. she took care of our wants and requests with a smile. She also was our cashier and was very personable. My sons and I stopped by after a day at Legoland. We took advantage of their Kids Eat Free promotion. I had the Make Your Own Grand Slam, and the kids each picked an item from the kids menu. My oldest picked the Cheeseburger with Fries, and my youngest picked the Mac and Cheese and Fries. The food was very good. You can not go wrong getting breakfast at Dennys! The kids really enjoyed their orders as well. We also ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and Hashbrowns from the $2-4-6-8 menu. Why did I take time to write this review the day after? The Service was Outstanding. I felt sorry for the employees because there is construction going on that really limits the parking options. You have to park by the Target because everything else is blocked off by chain link fences. Our server, Katherine was friendly, and was super nice to my kids that kept asking her for this and that! The food was okay, the service was terrible! I went with my husband and two children and were going to be seated in a corner table that would have disrupted the group that was next to it so my husband asked to be seated somewhere else. The server, Emily, seemed upset at this but still obliged. She was quick to get our order, but she had such a terrible attitude. In a restaurant where servers get tipped, you would think that the service would be friendly, but we were wrong. We waited forever to get our check, she didn't come and pick our empty plates, and when the manager noticed, she told her right in front of us to make sure she gets our check. Showed up to pick up my takeout order an hour and a half after it was placed to give them plenty of time (they asked for about an hour). To my surprise they "had no record of the order" I had to show them the email confirmation as well as the Apple Pay receipt while the employee acted like I was making up my 12$ order... I placed an order online for two pancake meals. After waiting for awhile at the pickup counter the person working didn't know if I had paid on the online order. After telling her that I had paid already she then took her time finding the receipt and brought it back. She then had to find a pen all adding unnecessary time. One of the orders was wrong and the other had all of the toppings off in the corner of the package. I am overall very disappointed with the order. read more

My family went to dine on Sunday evening. We were waiting for about 20 min sitting near the entrance waiting for someone to seat us. It was a longer wait than usual so we decided to approach one of the workers. We walk up to her and say hi, she responds with can I help u with something? Really?! She asks us this when we've been waiting for over 20 min while being completely ignored by all the workers. What kind of restaurant is this? Did they think we simply liked their comfy chairs? Heck no. By far one of the rudest servers we ever encountered. She goes on to tell us that there was only one cook and server and that we would have to wait a while to get served. She could have told us that right away instead of making us wait for 20 min and making us go to her. It's their friggin job to be the one to approach the customers. I am very disappointed in the Denny's on Vista Way in Oceanside. I read and heard about the Beyond Burger promotion from 11AM to 10PM today. It was big and bold on their website. We went at 4:15. No one told us they were out until I went to order it with the required drink purchase. The others in my party ordered different entrees. I was not at all happy. What competent manager doesn't order enough supply for a promotion? The server was very nice. She agreed that there should have been ample supply. After all, they are on the regular menu, so they wouldn't have been wasted. I wonder if I were to go tomorrow and order one off the regular menu there would be availability. Of course the manager had gone home leaving these servers to explain his or her poor management skills for the next 6 hours. Well let's just say as a single traveler and eater I am used to being forgotten in a restaraunt. Probably why I always choose to sit at a bar. That said while I had to wait quite some time to be greeted, I'm okay with that. Things happen. So I ordered my meal, and it came out wrong. Oops! Yea not terribly wrong just not what I ordered. What impressed me was how quickly they fixed it. They had the correct meal out super fast. No reason to get upset when they respond so darn quickly. Now if you've ever sent anything back there is always this worry about what you're going to receive when you get your remade meal. To my delight it was perfect. The hash browns were as flawless as you could want. The meal was exactly what I was wanting. So while it may have started off as a rocky experience they certainly made up for it. That's the definition of real service. No one is perfect 100% of the time, and if you expect that then you're kidding yourself and need to wake the heck up. It's how the situation gets handled that is the true defining character of a team or location. And because of that, they're getting a great review from me. On a side note, I had a moment to interact with the general manager (very brief when I was seated) and just a little bit of advice to her. You need to be the example of positive energy for your establishment. You weren't rude but you certainly didn't seem happy to be there. Definitely will be back. read more

Aack. We went to this Denny's mid-Saturday morning and it was hot and stuffy inside. The waitress put us in a corner, but it was still claustrophobically hot. It was also dark, so I was reminded of an armpit. Our waitress let us sit, and sit, and sit, until she finally ran over and took our order. Our drinks came much later and they didn't taste right because the soda dispenser was messed up and the mix was incorrect. When our lunches finally came, they were cold and looked like they'd been thrown together, forgotten about, and then waved under the warmer lamps. The orders weren't strange or difficult: just a BLT, a few burgers, and a grilled cheese, but somehow this Denny's messed everything up. Slow service, unwelcoming interior, and lousy Saturday chefs. We will NOT be going back there again. I'd rather eat at the Target in the adjoining parking lot! At least I know the popcorn is hot and fresh and the sodas have fizz. read more

I love Denny's I always do to go and this location totally botched my whole order last night. I ordered online and right when we get there after my card was charged they said they didn't do online orders. The front desk girl was obviously on drugs she was tweeking and when she finally says they made our food they only made half of it. She seemed like she didn't want to help us and asked if we wanted to wait for he rest of it. We're servers in the industry so we get mistakes are made but she was rude and didn't even offer anything to us for the inconvenience and didn't even apologize. Ended up waiting 40 minutes for food we were trying to pick up and leave with. The other half of the food was cold because we had to wait and she didn't even add the pancakes we ordered. Just a terrible experience with no sort of offering to ever entice us to come back. I'll just go to IHOP next time and avoid the problems and sketchy drug users working here.
