Yelp Review - Denny's Northridge (Visited July 13 at ~12:30pm I'm deeply disappointed to be writing this review. My mother and I have been coming to this Denny's in Northridge since 1978 -- back when I was a child, and now as adults with our own kids. It's been a multigenerational tradition. Sadly, today may have been our last visit. We came in around 12:30 PM and were seated by who I believe was the manager, Jose, near the kitchen area in a booth. We waited nearly 10 minutes with menus in hand and no acknowledgment from any server. Finally, a Filipino waitress with no name tag approached us. I said, "Finally someone's here. I thought you all were on strike," in a lighthearted but truthful way to express our frustration. Instead of a smile or reassurance, we got a curt attitude in return. She brushed it off, saying they were busy. We mentioned we were hungry, and she responded in an impatient, almost annoyed tone. Her demeanor felt rushed, brash, and impersonal from the start. We ordered two Grand Slams. I believed I was ordering the $10.99 Grand Slam advertised on the poster in the window, but I was charged nearly $20 for mine. I also asked for decaf coffee for my mom -- she brought regular. When I told her about the mistake, she didn't apologize and just walked off to get another without much care. I requested that we place our to-go order after eating so the food wouldn't get cold, but she never came back to take it. Every time I asked for something, it felt like a burden to her. The coffee was cold, and when I brought it up, she shrugged and rushed away. Her communication was unclear, and unfortunately, the language barrier made it harder to connect. Eventually, after waiting another 10-15 minutes for the check and not seeing her again, I had to go up to the front to speak to Jose. His attitude wasn't much better. When I asked about the Grand Slam pricing, he gave me a dismissive explanation, almost as if I were a child, and acted like I should have just accepted the mistake. No apology, no effort to make things right. Instead, he backed up the waitress completely, giving the impression that our complaint was just a nuisance. We spent over $52 and left feeling like we weren't valued at all. I work as an executive healthcare recruiter and home health specialist and have strong relationships with over 40 care facilities. I make it a point to recommend businesses that treat customers with care and respect. Unfortunately, I'll be warning my network to steer clear of this Denny's and consider alternatives like IHOP across the street -- where the service has consistently been friendlier and more professional. It's truly disheartening to be treated this way after decades of loyal patronage. We left church this morning talking about loving our neighbor -- and it's incredibly hard to do that when you're met with rudeness, neglect, and arrogance. Denny's corporate needs to take a hard look at what's happening at this location. Poor service, unqualified management, and a dismissive attitude are a recipe for losing loyal customers like us. We won't be returning. - Albert V.

I've been coming to this Denny's for a while and I've never been disappointed. I love that they are open 24 hours and the service is always fast! I usually get the build your own slam where you can pick 4 from a variety of options. It's perfect to satisfy any late night breakfast cravings! From the colors to the booths, Denny's always has such a classic feel to it.

Well this was a disappointing experience. Grub hub takeout. Ordered burnt ends with Mac and cheese. The portion looked quite small. If I were served that at the restaurant I would have returned it. Not worth the money. Didn't even taste good. The Mac and cheese tasted fake and the predominant flavor of the entire meal was salt. Look at the picture... is that $24 worth of food? Never again.

10:30 for breakfast and ordered a Denver omelette. Described as made with fresh uncooked bell pepper, onions, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. Only they grilled everything beyond recognition, including the cheese. What a mess. The waitress said she was sorry, that she had not seen a Denver omelette like this in all her 23 years serving. The manager basically said tough luck. Took off 20% from the omelette. Worst of all their omelettes are now $17. Wow, I would stay away from this Dennys.

I came here with my husband for breakfast and we were seated right away even though they were a little busy. Our waiter came fairly quickly to take our drink order while we looked at the menu. We each order a dish and shared. Everything was delicious except the hash browns were slightly cold and slightly burnt. Everything else was hot and flavorful and cooked well. There is plenty of seating inside. There were no more booths so we sat at a table with chairs. There is plenty of parking and the service was good. I would definitely go back and ask for my hash browns hot and crispy but not burnt.

Food

I love this location. The people are so helpful and positive. Love the environment and energy. Thank you night shift on Sunday, October 5 1-2am! Food was also so great and yummy!

Service was okay but this place is so dirty. Hay managers get out of the office and take good look from a customer perspective.

Very satisfied customer with the menu.

Order a steak medium and it's a real gamble what you end up with. Anything from rare to well done is fair game. Get what you pay for though

The drinks looked good but I decided to save some calories and just had a glass of water. For food I started with clam chowder. I'm thinking it was a special since it was on a piece of paper on the table. It came in a bread bowl...it had lots or clams, bacon and potatoes. It was delicious. It could have been a meal with a small salad. So for my entree I had the lobster Mac and cheese. It was good as a well. Ooey gooey and seasoned nicely. I was almost full from the chowder so only at about 1/3 of it but would definitely recommend. It was my first time coming here and I'd definitely return.

Honest review…read more.... Beer options - 5/10 They were aiming for local brews but honestly, not the best options. Food - 7/10 For pub food, it's not bad but not great. Service - 5/10 I'm not sure if they were just so understaffed or what was going on. Food took forever to come out & it seemed as if there was only 1 waiter for the entire restaurant. She also had an ugly attitude. Price - 2/10 Honestly for pub food, it's way too overpriced. You're paying West Hollywood prices in the valley, probably more. I hate that each sandwich/burger is $15+ à la carte. Ridiculous! Cocktails - 2/10 Ordered an old fashioned multiple times & each time it was too heavy on the bitters. Gross! Ambiance - 6/10 It's a cool dive bar feel but the TV sound could've been on for the ball game. OVERALL - 6/10 It's way too overpriced to even want to come back. The food is mid, and just not worth the price. The beer options also are not it. Cocktails aren't great either. Probably wouldn't come back.

It starts at the door with a friendly greeting and prompt seating. The waitstaff are attentive and accommodating. There was a time where we gave our phone number and were never actually put on the list. Then there was a time we made sure we were on the list and after a 40 minute wait we checked in with the front just to be told the system went down and we lost our place. Beyond that the servers would just never come around to check on us. In fact I am currently writing this while still waiting for the check we asked for 10 minutes ago. For the entirety of the dinner our server only checked on us twice after ordering and one of those times it was only because we flagged someone else down. He never even refilled our drinks till we asked for the check, which we are still waiting for.... **update** We got the check 17 minutes later after flagging someone else down.

Don't even get me started on their little fruit bowls with the cream ball thing and Nutella sauce dip they serve with the breakfast! Drinks are phenomenal. I'm a huge sweet cream type of girl, so the butterscotch is my go to. I'm a creature of habit and I highly recommend this drink to anyone who has a sweet tooth with a coffee addiction. Don't get me started on how nice the place feels and looks inside. Like a lot of people described, it is super cozy and welcoming. They have a big mirror near the entrance you can take pictures with your friends at, and as a girl, I looove it haha. There's two levels, like a loft area you can chill at if you like towering over all the other customers. I love high places so that's my favorite spot to chill. The store itself is very well themed and the decore is pretty cool. Service was even better. The good looking guy with curly hair (I think his name is Luis) who serves me on occasion is always so sweet and polite, great customer service skills. Too bad for me he has a gf, but we looove a loyal king who loves his girl! The other employees are great too btw everyone has a great attitude every time I've been, they handle the stress of the rushes well and are easy to relate to. They make it feel less as a transaction, and more like seeing a friendly acquaintance you get to catch up with. Clearly Yellowhouse has employees who know what they're doing with being not only efficient, but delivering quality drinks and service. Great all around, 10/10 would recommend.

Yellow House is nestled between other small businesses but you won't miss the entrance as it is highlighted by a big yellow wall. Ambiance: The exterior of the building almost plants the idea that the cafe will be small, but once entering the building you get a different feeling. The interior is spacious even having 2 stories. The interior exudes a calm, cozy, minimalistic feel. It really does feel like you are walking into a warm inviting yellow home, albeit a little loud and busy. There is a good amount of natural light coming from all the windows and depending on the time of year, they also decorate for each holiday. Drinks: We have gotten the tiramisu iced latte, creme brulee matcha, Earl grey Matcha, and Strawberry matcha, and sea salt caramel americano. Order all drinks half sweet or you'll get a cavity- heed the warning of this tooth fairy. But in all seriousness, their drinks are SWEET so be aware. All of the drinks taste like what they advertise though which is amazing! If you're looking for top tier matcha quality this isn't the place, this isn't Rocky's matcha but if you're in sheer desperation and ache for some green drink derived from leaves, it'll work. Service: Everyone is nice and the drinks come out pretty quickly considering their crafted nature. Overall: There's a reason we keep coming back! It's reliable, has lots of cool varieties, and consistent! Although I will say a bit overpriced, but that seems to be everywhere these days so eh.
