So we decided to make this stop because it would be too long to wait for dinner and it was well past lunch. My Aunt and I walked in and it took a minute for someone to notice we were there. And honestly how could you miss us? There were only 2 other people in the place. We ordered iced tea, 1 raspberry and 1 regular. That seemed easy enough. Nope. She got mine and I got hers. Oh well, swap out the straws and switch. The Super Bird Turkey sandwich looked good so we split that and the bacon cheddar tots. The sandwich came split on 2 plates for us and the fry order split also. I have a sensitive nose and when I opened up the bread slices to add mayo and mustard to the sandwich I could smell something was off. I sniffed the turkey and it smelled horrible. I took a bite and yep, I was right. I asked my Aunt to smell her turkey and she agreed. When I called the Barbie, the waitress, over to let her know the turkey was bad she proceeded to tell me that it wasn't in the refrigerator longer than a few days. And that I must be imagining the smell. Why argue with me? It's rotten. I know it, my Aunt knows it and you do too! Anyhow.. we got a cheeseburger to split and it was fine. Went there to celebrate my 18th birthday with my mom and sister. We have a tradition going to dennys every year around midnight. We got there at 11 and was "greeted" by a waitress/hostess who was extremely cold not uninviting. The moment we sat down she rudely said "We close soon." So we decided to order an appetizer, coffee, and water (which never came). We waited to get order are food to wait for the rest of are party to arrive and the waitress insisted we ordered as soon as possible. Everytime we looked over, she was giving us dirty looks, and never came to check on us. We got our food and enjoyed our meal, 15 min from closing, the music turned off and she was glaring at us while wiping tables. She came up to us again to ask us to put our food in boxes when we just said no to boxes. 5 minutes later she comes up to us and asks us to leave because it was 4 minutes past close. I just want to say, I am more than disappointed with the experience we had. I came in on Saturday night with my boyfriend, and 2 of our good friends. When we got there, there was one girl working with a playboy bunny tattoo on her face, and one cook. We sat down and ordered our food, and as soon as our food arrived, we saw a kid RUN outside and puke in the bushes directly by the window we were eating by, I guess we should've taken that as the first red flag. Our food was not made right, the eggs didn't come how we ordered them, and I didn't even get my toast. We ate, left and went home. The next morning I was awoken by my boyfriend puking his guts out from around 4-7AM. My friend's boyfriend also got extremely sick and nauseated. My friend and I decided to call the manager (which is something I never normally do), to which he explained that the night shift people are supposed to check the temperatures of the fridge, and the freezers every 2 hours, and that they must've not done that task that night. Absolutely ridiculous and disgusting, not to mention something that can be reported and possibly shut down business. My friend and I demanded a refund for our troubles, we walked in to get our refund of exactly $88.64 and was only given $75 and a "sorry, this usually doesn't happen". We didn't even get our exact amount of money back. In conclusion, don't go to Dennys at almost 10:30 at night. You will get a waitress that looks like she smokes crack on her 30 minute break, undercooked, disgusting, and wrong food, and a poor refund. Wow ...has it been more than 10 years since I came to a Denny's? Their menu has upgraded or updated! I love it! There are tons of Denny's everywhere and I would never have thought to go until a friend of ours checked in and I asked her how it was. She loved it so I had to give it another go. Went to this particular location due to the ratings and it was spot on! Right by the 80 freeway. I give props to Carol who served us. The manager was friendly and courtesy as well. Carol served us nine well. She was on her toes and fast in getting our order and serving us our food. I mean she practically ran the whole time. It has been a while seeing that! She was very nice and friendly as well. She knows how to treat her customers so we tipped her well. As for the food, I thought mine was very good. I ordered their 'Salted Caramel Banana and Cream pancake breakfast' meal. I wanted to try something different. I didn't really care for the eggs, hash and bacon but it was cooked as it should. I know my pancakes are not the norm but it was delicious!! I had the banana and caramel on the side thinking it might be too much! I was wrong. No syrup needed. I almost finished it! Bad bad bad for me!!! My family seemed to like their order and finished it. The hustle and bustle at this location is amazing! Not sure if someone called out or not but I basically seen a manager, waitress, and a chef and that's it. It was in the morning and the crowd was POURING IN! This waitress was juggling then and was just amazing! I came in to order pancakes to bring Into work for my coworkers as a surprise. She was cashing out bills, telling people to go ahead and be seated, clearing plates, filling coffees! Just incredible! Wish I had taken her name but she was an older thin lady with brunette hair kind of pinned up in a bun. Both her and the manager were amazing. Super friendly and big smiles during all that chaos! Trish is awesome and probably one of the most patient people ever because we had one girl in our group of four who is 'That Bitch' and can be a pain in the ass. "ivan go to the bathroom and i'll text you when you can come back" "okay...." he goes to the bathroom. i tell the waitress i want to surprise him with a dozen scrambled eggs. she's cool about it. i don't order anything. he comes back (because i texted him). he asks why no one's taken our order yet and i play it cool and tell him we should play the silent vegetable guessing game. so we played that. then bam. the egg platter arrives. like the whole plate is covered in scrambled eggs. a sea of yellow. "vanya what the f***?" People were wandering about the entrance waiting for someone to seat them. For the few people already there, the service was amazingly slow. The one person hardly seemed to move or care. I paid and did not leave a tip on purpose. When my credit card statement arrived, a 20% tip had been added. Not an experience to create customer loyalty. On our way to Tahoe, we had to eat something. We found this nice place. It is not far away from the highway and you can find a nice parking lot there. So it is absolutely convenient! The interior inside is absolutely amazing. Big red couches or hard chairs, you can find there what you want. The area inside was nice. They made a good job to decorate everything. I ordered a big bacon burger with avocado. The portion is very big. That's what you need on a long road. But the menu is various. You can find there almost everything I guess. It is great, that the waitress was bringing as much hot water as we need. The only thing you should know is to pay your order you have to do this in the cashdesk. Unfortunately, the waitress can't bring you a receipt. I guess it is the only inconvenience. You can find there big clean restrooms. They accept credit cards. It is a nice place for kids. We saw a few families when we were there. I hope they celebrate New Year as cool as we are. read more

The only reason this review is getting a three star rating and not a one star rating its because of our waitress. We came in for breakfast and right away there was a wait time which of course is to be expected. We were told the wait time was 15minutes. Doesn't seem so bad right except after it hit the 40minute mark. I went to talk to the person in charge which seemed to be the general manager Rudy. He proceeds to tell me they are busy and behind which is why we have been waiting so long. I noticed that 4 partys were sat before we were and they had arrived after us. This left a bad taste in my mouth. Once we were sat I noticed the table was dirty. No big deal we the customers wiped the table with a napkin. Then came the food, the food was not the best looking and my little boys chicken nuggets were way overdone let alone greasy. We always stop here to eat when heading to california and back. Ugh. I literally am physically sick after eating here. Came in with my family and in laws, they usually like this location so took us for breakfast. Super busy and the manager at the front, Rudy, was extremely rude as we are trying to figure out how to get our name in. No one there to greet us just a pad of paper apparently. Next, after waiting an hour even though we were like 3rd in line, we wait almost another hour for our food. Which was all cold, nasty, and most of the parts of our order were incorrect. I asked for poached medium eggs, weren't poached medium eggs. Asked for silver dollar pancakes for my toddler, got 3 full sized pancakes. My MIL's hash browns were literally like, not cooked. Soggy and nasty. My MIL got eggs Benedict and the sauce had like a film on them from very obviously sitting around. Hence why all our food was cold, it was definitely just sitting and not being brought out to us. Then as my family went to go and pay, RUDE-y was extremely RUDE to them. No customer service whatsoever and he's apparently the manager! Our server was nice, however I don't remember her name. Which brings us to now, my husband and I feeling super sick after eating there. Just finished dinner. Waitress was by herself. Never took our drink order. We waited for quite some time. The cook absolutely sucked. Gave us the wrong food. Asked for it to be fixed and got cold food in its place because the cook said there were other orders ahead after a door dash order had come in so its the new people first. Then made the food for another table that came in after that. Cool, so now so we have to wait for corrected food. Still! No refills while we wait for the for the corrected meal. Got the kids food wrong but they were hungry so we dealt with it. So we asked for the cold meal to be comped since not a single bite was taken out of it and got a disgusting amount of attitude from the waitress. Then we went to pay and the cook left the kitchen to follow us to pay counter. With my 2 toddlers!! Then followed us to the claw machines just glaring. He stepped outside by our car and waited for us to come out, still, with my 2 and 4 year old! Then threatens us and makes violent hand gestures after the waitress with the playboy bunny tattoo on her face comes out to stand by him so they can threaten us together?! Over a meal at Dennys? My wife and I dine here regularly on our trip home to Tahoe. We always enjoy the diverse menu and the excellent food preparation. The menu always has new items to choose from, and we can find something new and exciting to choose from. The salads with added meats of your choice are very good, the burgers are great too not to forget the great milk shakes. The restaurant is always clean and the help is very pleasant too. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress she said it must be a tendon.This was not a tendon not gristle and not a bone. Not sure what the object was but it was not edible or food. Had a sudden craving for some American Denny's meal so here we are a Friday night fairly empty restaurant and indoor dinning thank gosh! Wow it's been years since I've been here but suddenly I feel I've been missing out on some good comfort food at my local Denny's. Walked in plenty of open seating and the restaurant was immediately spotless clean. We were quickly greeted with a friendly hello by the hostess who was guess what... sanitizing and cleaning. She smiled and immediately sat us. Then we were in no time greeted with another extremely friendly server/manager guess he's working all positions due to crazy covid I thought. We ordered and he constantly checked on us ensuring if we needed anything and our food was alright. I was blown away by the amazing excellent customer service and food this location this evening was giving us. Everything was truly better service than I've received at 5 star restaurants. The food was fresh quickly prepared and in fact we ate it so fast I barely got a picture half way through. So many restaurants lack good customer service these days who have true passion for giving good service to their customers and here at this Denny's we were blown away at how much the staff there valued their work and customers and it showed. Whoever is training this location truly doing an amazing job! We will be back more frequently now :) read more

My husband always wanted to go to this Denny's because of the fantastic, scenic location right off etc. 80. Well, someone should really put a fantastic establishment there with large windows so you can enjoy the view while you are eating....could not really see a view where we were seated which was closer to the restrooms. The restaurant really needs some redecorating....very worn, but very, very clean. The staff was very friendly and provided fast service. Our california club sandwiches with FF were excellent!!! Made with all very fresh ingedients. The bread was a multigran that was very good and the bacon was hot and crispy. The FF came out piping hot. I have been to many dinners that serve breakfast, but the Dennys in Newcastle has been the most horrid restaurant I have been to in my existence on this planet. I walked in and was sourly greeted by a waiter and aggressively walked to a booth that had not been cleaned yet with my two friends. A strange sweet smell came from the booth as we sat down on the sticky seats after wiping them down to the best of our ability. We ordered our food and were forced to wait an hour, and when it got to our table, it was the wrong dishes and we were forced to wait another 30 minutes. Our dishes were bland and flavorless and on top of all of that it was not warn. This is not a dinner that I recommend anyone goes too. This has been one of the worst experiences I have had in a while. Compared to the other dinners like IHOP or other Dennys in fact, this is substantially worse. read more
