The chairs were Very plain and rustic too. Not very comfortable The server we had, Jackie, was pretty kind. She came by for our drinks pretty quickly, brought them by quickly too, and took our order nice and well too! Our food did take quite a while to come out. Not too long, but longer than I expect I ordered a Maneater's Scramble, scrambled eggs with sausage, ham and pork and bacon! And wow! It was delicious! The eggs were cooked to perfection! I also got the poke plate and very happy with the quality of the fish, but the rice was a little mushy for my preference. Moving over to the restaurant you will see that they have numerous burgers, sandwiches, and shakes made-to-order. For the Yelp Experience, I tried their marion berry pie and a melona shake. The pie was sooo good! It had a lightly buttery crust with rich, yet tangy berry filling. The melona shake was definitely out of the ordinary which prompted my ordering it. It was just lightly sweet and very creamy with a good flavor of honeydew. Not cloyingly sweet at all. Ikeda's is definitely a roadside mom & pop shop, but it deserves a stop if you're on the 80 or close enough. I am excitedly planning to come back try more of their pies and try out their smashburger and crab sandwich next time I'm around. You can just tell that either they have so much business they don't care much about service or they're just not quite sure how to dial everything in to balance the front of house and kitchen delivery. If I have any specific suggestions to offer: tell your customers upfront about your kitchen wait times. Nobody wants to wait an hour for breakfast food. Make sure to follow up with your customers and ask them if they want anything else to drink besides water it seems like a really easy way to make extra money.

One of the guests asked why the hold up on food and the response was: "well it's Thursday after being closed for 3 days and we weren't as prepped as we thought; that's what happens in restaurants. You can take it to go." I also ordered their Macho Salad, which came without any dressing. Just lettuce and a few toppings. It's disappointing to spend a decent amount of money to have pretty poor experiences. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

This place has some history for me. Many a Friday night, when I was the Defensive Coordinator for Lincoln High School, I'd find myself here. And on those hot summer days, my wife and I would stop in with our son Jonathan before heading off to watch Lincoln play Nevada City. So, yes... I have a little emotional investment in this place. Fast-forward to today, and I'm happy to report that the burgers are still worth talking about. The buns were soft, the meat was flavorful, and the whole burger experience hit the spot. And, of course, my family gave the milkshakes their official seal of approval--which, in my household, is basically a Michelin star. The menu has plenty of good options, there's outdoor seating, and the staff is genuinely working hard. They're multitasking like their lives depend on it, so every once in a while you may need to repeat your order. But honestly, I'd rather see people working hard and trying to take care of everyone than standing around looking bored. Parking can be a bit challenging, too. Consider it part of the dining experience--your appetizer is finding a parking space. So why only four stars? The wait. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. It wasn't terrible, but when you're hungry enough to start considering whether ketchup packets are technically a meal, 20 minutes feels like a lifetime. That said, the food was really good, the staff was friendly, and there's a genuine sense that people are working hard to make this place successful. Bottom line: Great burgers, excellent milkshakes, a solid menu, friendly people, and a little nostalgia thrown in for free. I'd absolutely recommend giving this place a try. All of the staff was very attentive and kind. I noticed nowadays that any store or restaurant I go into seems to be wildly understaffed.- that was not the case! I also love that there's kind of this open kitchen in the back so you see a little bit of the kitchen where the chefs are cooking!
