In what I believe was an old Pizza Hut, this Denny's doesn't live up to the high level of quality I expect from America's Diner. The service was fine, but there is an upcharge for blueberry in pancakes of which they add about 4, and there's an upcharge to get a "fruit cup" side which is basically grapes and a half an unsliced banana. So you end up paying more than you should for diner food from people who obviously didn't care. And the bathroom is one stall per gender. It just doesn't seem like enough when you are waiting for your turn. Most have 2 stalls for better turnover. The parking lot is pretty big, so I guess that's also a plus. That's about it.

Service was dreadful, but that's because they had poor girl working the front, and waitressing all by herself......we watched 3 other couples walk out after being seated. The food was pretty good I must say, but Dennys as a company, should be ashamed!

First ever Denny's experience! 3.5 rating, but as you all know, Yelp still doesn't offer half stars. There were very few people when I arrived, I sat at the first table by the front door. The host/server came over to take the order---he wasn't the most personable, but wasn't mean either. I went with the Pancakes, Fries with two eggs and turkey bacon. I informed him I didn't want the has browns, could I swap for something else (Grits or Fries). I was told they only have grits in the morning, I could swap for fries, for an upcharge. Despite only a couple people in there, the food took awhile. When the food arrived hash browns were on the plate, I mentioned to him I asked for the fries instead, and he appeared surprised. (-1). As I reached for the pepper I noticed a blatantly used jelly on the table, that should never happen, in my opinion (-1). The food itself was fine--the experience was just average. Hence, the three star rating.

I had to pay for a cup of fruit because they didn't have hashbrowns which was supposed to come with my order.

First and foremost, **David was an absolute superstar of a server.** He was incredibly attentive, professional, and so genuinely friendly--even while dealing with my crazy 2-year-old, which is no easy feat! He made us feel completely welcome and at ease. On top of the top-notch service, **the food was so much better than before.** Whatever changes have been made in the kitchen recently are definitely working, because every dish was spot-on. Between David's amazing hospitality and the massive step up in food quality, this was easily our best visit yet. We will absolutely be back!

We ordered nachos, and our friends ordered the $27 Bourbon Sirloin Steak. Waited about 30 minutes wondering where our food was. After45 minutes it finally arrived! Nachos were cold and the steak was just awful. It was the size of a single McDonalds patty, tough as nails, and smothered in Bourbon sauce. We called our server over and explained we were far from happy with our meal. Actually, she was the only good part of the experience. I forget her name, I think it was Anise, but she was very friendly and chatty, mentioned she's moving to Hawaii w/her boyfriend this month. (July 2026) Her manager came over and was very apologetic, told us she would take care of the bill. She also gave us coupons for free appetizers and a drink on our next visit. Well, needless to say there won't be a "next visit." We should have listened to our good friends in the first place. We left there hungry and very disappointed. Take it from us .......... Water view, not bad. Birria Tacos? Very tasty, 3, big . Calamari: fresh and not overcooked with a generous garlic sauce. Something different. Hubby devoured the burger. We got a platter of nachos and the only exciting thing was the sheer size of it: one platter served five people, with some more to spare. The nachos were dry, flavorless, and was almost like dipping chips into a generic grocery store queso. All the vegetables were raw, so it didn't add much to the dish. I'd recommend really seasoning at least one element of the tray, like the vegetables, and it would have been decent. The Nashville fried chicken sandwich was spicy without flavor. Another massive portion size with plenty of fries, but nothing I would order again. Sweet Thai chili sauce that came with the Brussels sprouts had the texture of wet corn starch that had been mixed in with a bottled chili sauce--gloopy and oddly too sweet.

Half Keg Tavern is a historic neighborhood tavern that opened in New London, Connecticut in 1946…read more The tavern is housed inside a converted Quonset hut, which was likely picked up cheaply at the conclusion of World War II. The Half Keg stands out from other Connecticut drinking establishments in that it is technically a tavern as opposed to a bar. What's the difference? Bars can serve just about anything (including hard liquor), whereas taverns (once known as "public houses" back when residents were still British subjects) are places that can serve only beer, wine, cider, and food if they choose. At the time the Half Keg opened, there were maybe 700 taverns in Connecticut. Today, less than 10 Connecticut drinking establishments operate under a tavern license. A number of different owners have come and gone at the Half Keg, including longtime owners Ron & Maryann DiNoto. Since October 2016, the Half Keg has been owned and operated by Teresa Stomberg and her son David Donatello. The tavern serves a variety of domestic and foreign beer as well as a food menu of fresh handcrafted burgers, grinders, and a variety of bar bites. I recently visited the Half Keg for lunch while I was in the New London area. I arrived not long after they opened for the day. I pulled up a seat at the bar and began to peruse the menu. I first ordered a plate of "Fried Pickles", which were on the specials menu that day. Served with a dipping sauce, they were hot, crispy and very flavorful. I washed them down with a draught pour of Samuel Adams' "Summer Ale". Afterwards, I ordered a "Garlic & Onion Burger" (garlic & onion seasoned burger on a a garlic-buttered roll, slice of raw onion, lettuce, tomato) with a side of "Hand Cut Seasoned Fries". Don't expect anything particularly fancy here. It's just good, old-fashioned home cooking. No frills, no fuss; just fresh ingredients and good flavor! I washed my burger and fries down with a draught pour of Two Roads Brewing's "Two Juicy" (Double New England IPA). That lunch really hit the spot. I'd be interested in trying out one of their grinders on a return trip. If you're in the mood for a good sports game paired with a cold beer, good food, and the company of friendly locals, then head to the Half Keg!

The place is LOUD. The decor is new and refreshed. There is NO WHEEL CHAIR ACCESS (which surprised me as they just renovated the place. One would think the Town of Clinton would have required it.) I had the Breakfast Wrap with sausage and american cheese. It was good and filling. $7.00 (in May 2026) My companion had the Quinoa Omelette pictured 1/2 eaten ($14.75 in May 2026) which was good. The home fries had a little too much salt but were otherwise excellent. Personally when there is salt actually on the table, I always wonder why the cook just lightly dusts with salt as I can add more. We also ordered a fresh fruit cup which had grapes purple and green, strawberries, and a few hard pieces of honey dew melon. $6.50 (May 2026) In May 2026 the hours are 0700-1430 MON - SAT 0700-1200 SUN ****WARNING**** They stop servicing breakfast items at 11AM They do take credit cards BUT...
