I regretted that decision very quickly. They also ran out of the soup so best to ask before deciding to choose only that. I also tried a mango bubble tea and that was nice and light. The American bistro with a weekly-changing menu soon won numerous awards and accolades. By 2024, the couple opened a new restaurant in the Velvet Mill. This time they would focus on artisanal wood-fired sourdough pizza as well as sandwiches, salads, and other delicious treats. Named for the "back door" of the Velvet Mill, the pizzeria soon won its own accolades. My sons and I recently had lunch at Back Door. I've visited the Velvet Mill numerous times, but this was my first visit since Back Door opened. After looking of the menu, we all decided to order and share the "Margherita" (fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato sauce, EVOO) and the "CBR" (house ranch, bacon, chicken, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, everything spice, lemon, dill). We ordered $109 worth of food...Arancini ($16), garlic bread with cheese($16), Penne al Vodka with sautéed chicken($32), and the Alfredo with chicken cutlet($38). I was expecting a lot for prices like these. The Arancini were 5 pieces the size of golf balls and the flavor was ok, not worth $16, out garlic bread with cheese ($16) was left out of our order, the penne vodka with sautéed chicken ($32) was dry and there were 5 small pieces of chicken, and the baked penne chicken Alfredo had broken sauce, full of grease and almost inedible...I threw out most of it. I expected so much more from this establishment. The parking lot was packed and parking just to get takeout was challenging, but the food and prices were amazingly disappointing. We may try their pizza to see if that is any better, but I would not recommend the pasta dishes. I can see charging g prices like that if the pasta was homemade, but even that is a stretch. 3 stars is generous
