Came here for brunch. I came prepared with my own mini bottle of champagne, they supplied the glass, FRESH fruit and the glass! I gotta say, the blue berries must have been hand selected because they were perfect. So were the strawberries. I got the BLTE on their gluten free toast. Crisp lettuce and a red tomato slice. I was here with my MIL who appeared to be a regular as our waitress just came and sat right down for our order. Sunny side diner is a lovely breakfast spot located in gales ferry. They offer all the regular breakfast items and have some great specials. I tried the western omelette and it was huge, I even had leftovers. It came with fresh made home fries and included a corn bread which I loved. The service was wonderful, they were quick to get our order and checked in to see how we were doing. I'll definitly be back to try another omelette. read more

Cute decor, super friendly staff (and close to the casino's if you spent a night there and were looking for a good local breakfast option) I had wonderfully crispy bacon and sweet cream pancakes. This is my third time here. Staff is very friendly. Family owned and you feel the love and quality. I came with a small group of friends for breakfast. We stayed for 2 hours. The coffee was a bit on the watery side for everyone on the table. I like mine light but I had to admit it was too light which I think is ok if they offer the ability to make it stronger or add an expresso shot. We asked and no options available. They do give lots of coffee thought. We asked about Gluten free options and only toast was available. Not terrible but the person in our group was limited. Still have to say what we ordered was good and Kaydance did a pretty good job taking care of us. I will definitely come back. read more

Homrfries were not done, hard in the middle, wanted over medium eggs but we're over cooked, had sausage links, really didn't like taste of them, should have gotten the bacon. The last time we ate here, we had been shocked by how expensive breakfast was for three people (over $60!). This was our second visit and the prices were much more reasonable this time! There are interesting menu choices and great daily specials. Today, one of us had the walnut pancakes with caramel sauce. Delicious! Don and I each had over easy eggs with toast. All fresh and tasty. Our granddaughter wanted avocado and it was served as a beautiful ripe pile of slices. The service was great, the coffee was served in giant mugs, and the price was reasonable! This is a cute little diner in a small strip mall in GF. This spot is owned by the same people who run Fireside Brick Oven Pizza which are located on the opposite end of the strip mall. (Heard great things about Fireside). I was greeted immediately as I walked in by the hostess/wait person. I was seated immediately since there were plenty of available booth seating. It's a bright airy little breakfast joint. The menu is succinct & has all the breakfast items one would want: combination egg plates, a large variety of omelettes, yogurt breakfast bowls, pancakes, home fries, corned beef hash, biscuits & gravy, bacon, ham, sausage. Lots of drink varieties, coffee, teas, etc, No espresso machine though so no fancy espresso drinks. The staff are warm, friendly, helpful, easy going & efficient. I ordered the 2 egg scrambled with cheddar, spinach, diced tomatoes, corned beef hash & rye toast. The corned beef hash is homemade & has solid chunks of corned beef tossed with home fries. I ordered hot tea which was fantastic as it was a particularly cold day. She brought fresh water too. The plate was out in 12 mins. My scramble was yummy. Cooked perfectly & packed with cheddar, tomatoes & spinach. I wasn't a huge fan of the corned beef for some reason. But I LOVED the home fries & ate those up. They offered Franks it Cholula sauce table side condiments & can prepare your home fries like an omelette with various ingredients. The decor is cute & simple but homey with bric a brac with wonderful heartwarming quotes & anecdotes. I liked this place. It's simple, clean, airy, straightforward little breakfast spot. This is an enjoyable diner with lots of seating and friendly service. They have large windows and a wide open layout to really maximize the sunny aspect of the name. I tried the kielbasa Benedict and some biscuits and gravy because the prices were reasonable enough to do so. I found the Benedict to be great, smooth hollandaise, perfectly poached egg, and the kielbasa was essentially a steak it was so thick. I thought the home fries were a bit over seasoned, so I didn't eat much of them. The biscuits and gravy were a large portion, but I found the gravy too peppery to be edible. I had mine with the eggs poached too. Despite mixing the yolk through the gravy, even that couldn't make it edible. Lastly, the coffee cup was gigantic, like they know people want real amounts of coffee. I imagine this cuts down on the number of refills the staff has to provide, freeing them up to do other things with their time. Overall, worth a visit if you're in the area. One note, the jukebox defaults to country, but you can change it if that's not to your liking. read more

Exterior/Interior Appearance: Looks a bit dated inside and out, Ambiance: Has a nice local atmosphere to it, without the dreaded 'everybody turning to stare at you' feature! Seems people were enjoying their food and convos. Service: Walked in and not a minute later I was seated.. Sweet! Server came right over and asked if I would like a beverage to start, and I went with a black coffee. Server was super friendly and it seems all the servers and staff were outgoing and all had positive attitudes. Honestly couldn't have asked for better service from a small local diner. Food: Went with the Three eggs, two slices toast, and hash browns... absolutely slapping! Eggs were cooked just right, toast had just the right amount of crisp and butter lovin', and the hash brown were the icing on the cake! By the way coffee hit the spot! The place is OK. All the people are very friendly. The area isn't too bad of a area so you don't have to worry about a lot of traffic and and what not. Me and my girl went there for breakfast. I got the steak home fries, eggs, corn, bread, coffee, and some water. It's was okay. Online for the steak said it was like $12 it ended up being $15.99 and you have to asked them for it because it's not on the in-house menus. I give them 3.5 Stars!! I've had biscuits and gravy all over the country, and often New England fall short. But the staff said the owners had spent time in the South, so I decided to go for it. They nailed it. Delicious and fantastic menu selection! From the fresh coffee served in oversized mugs with genuine half and half to the yummy sweet pancakes. My hubby and I tried this place out on July 4th and loved it. It's a family run place with friendly waitstaff that really works hard to ensure a great experience. The shrimp and grits was amazing...cheesy spicy and definitely filling. The pancakes were sweet and fluffy. We are looking forward to trying out some of the other items on the menu. Nice Diner to take friends and family. Wasnt a huge fan of my meal, it was a TON of raw spinach on a plate with two small eggs on top (wont deduct a full star off cause maybe the rest of the menu better). Nonetheless I dont think popeyes coming in anytime soon might want to change that dish. read more

I was a semi-regular customer until today. I decided to get an extra egg on my to-go sandwich this morning. I fully expected the up charge but $3.50 per egg is just abusing your customers. This place is already pricey when you can drive 5min to the shack and get the same meal 10-15% cheaper, but it was convenient. Ill be making the extra drive in the future. read more

A wonderful family owned restaurant, serving a great menu of breakfast and lunch items. We have been there a dozen times since they opened and are going every Sunday after church. Particular favorites are the biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict with homemade hash, spicy omletts and shrimp and grits. The Reubin sandwich is also great for lunch.
