    Breakfast in bed, with Sift!

Love this place, excellent coffee! Very unusual, but my croissant was possibly undercooked, heavy and doughy on the inside... not the usual flakiness that peels away in layers. Something definitely went wrong because I never experienced this before here. I'm sure they would have exchanged it if I went back, but I just was not up for the walk back and ate the exterior which was as tasty as always ! Will absolutely be back and consider this an anomaly, and still highly recommend it to all!

Of all the bakeries I've been to in New England, Sift is my favorite. I've been several times to the original location in Mystic, CT, and the amazing thing is that the one at Mohegan is just as good. I love that the Mohegan location has its own entire kitchen where they create all their wonderful pastries and desserts. I will say that the Mohegan location can get kind of loud from the surrounding crowds (it's right across from a Chick Fil A) , but the seating area nearby is nice if you can get away from the crowds a bit. This particular visit I was just there for dessert. We had to wait in line for a bit because it was so busy. I ordered an almond croissant and a Gingerbread cheesecake. The almond croissant was a perfectly baked croissant filled with an almond infused whipped cream, as well as some crushed almond on top. The gingerbread cheesecake was not just beautiful but it was also a delicious cheesecake, especially with some Hot Cinnamon tea to go with it. In the past, I've also enjoyed the sandwiches here as well as their quiche. You really can't go wrong here.

So delicious, new and fun! We stopped here for a tipsy late night snack on the way back to our hotel. For around $50, we got a large chocolate chip cookie, a massive pistachio croissant pastry and one of each colored macaron. I would definitely try some new items next time. Although I absolutely love macarons, they were all thrown in one box together and there was only very subtle differences in flavors from one to the next. Would be back. I mean, will be back.

"Dreams come and go, And I sift through them. Love starts to grow From the thoughts I find within them" (The Mamas and the Papas) If you've ever watched those cooking shows on Food Network, you might be familiar with a Bakery Chef by the name of Adam Young. In 2018, he was crowned Food Network's BEST BAKER IN AMERICA and has become a frequent contributor to a slew of shows. He owns several highly respected Sift bakeries on the Connecticut and Rhode Island shoreline, plus one inside the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT. That's where we had lunch today. Sift is best known for their Artisanal Breads, Breakfast Pastries, Savory salads and sandwiches, Cookies & Brownies, French Macarons, and gourmet cakes. We wanted to grab a quick lunch before the Connecticut Sun WNBA game today, and Sift's gorgeous storefront and showcases drew us over for a closer look. And when that closer look revealed beautiful smoked salmon sandwiches on a croissant for just $11, well, we couldn't order two of them fast enough. My Sweet Lord, were they fantastic. Their Smoked Salmon Sandwich came with sliced Heirloom Tomato, Pickled Red Onion, Capers, and Chive Cream Cheese on an Everything Croissant. And I swear there was over a quarter of a pound of thinly sliced smoked salmon piled high on that croissant. At just $11, it was an incredible value. Was it hard to resist all of the sweet treats Sift tempted us with? You betcha it was. There are plenty of seats in the space surrounding Sift, so we grabbed a table, and enjoyed our lunch with iced coffees. Next time we're down in Southeast Connecticut, we sure will visit one of Chef Adam's bakeries.

I've been going to Sift in Mystic every time I'm in the area. While at the casino I was pleased to see their shop. Prices are the same across the board. I always get their lattes (iced/hot depending on season). I do enjoy their sticky buns, chocolate chip cookies and macarons. However, I wanted a simple sugar cookie today. It was so chewy and buttery; it was heavenly!!!! The staff is very helpful and friendly. You get to see their entire display case if what's available and choose what you'd like. I even watched the bakers work. Ambiance is like their mystic shop. Clean, chic and enticing. It smells great!!! Love their goodies.

One of my favorite bakeries is now at Mohegan Sun! I love Sift Bake Shop and I'm a frequent flyer at their Niantic location. Just another excuse to visit the casino to get my favorite lattes and treats. Sift Bake Shop took over the space that was Carlo's Bakery, across from Chick-fi-A, over Frank Pepe's and The Shed (I know it can be a maze in there). My husband and I were visiting for another event, but of course I made my way to Sift for a light lunch and to grab other goodies to take home. The line was very long since there were many events happening on this particular weekend. Unfortunately, the line went very slow--but I was able to view all my options and knew my order before I got to the counter. I got an Iced Chai Tea Latte (one of my favorites), a Seacoast Mushroom Quiche, the seasonal Key Lime Croissant, Buffalo Chicken Croissant (special for Father's Day weekend), and a bag of their Short Bread Cookies that my husband absolutely loves. I enjoyed my little treat in the same area since there were tables scattered in this area, some tables are tucked away and peaceful. They forgot to warm up my quiche which I had requested, but since the line was long I wasn't going to fight it. Luckily, you can eat quiche either warm or chilled. My iced chai was perfect. The rest of the goodies were saved for later. Sift is a great addition to Mohegan Sun. I hope the speed and efficiency of will fix itself in time--I would love to move my 4 Stars to 5! The staff member that helped me was so sweet and I think I helped her with knowing exactly what I wanted with minimal questions.

Really yummy bakery that replaced Carlos'. We didn't see many cake options but enjoyed their cookies and brownie. Would totally order from here again!

Wow. It's been a long time since I've been to Sift in Mystic, and while I remember they made great pastries, they definitely upped their game over the years! I didn't get to visit the new bakery in Mohegan Sun myself, but rather had my husband pick something up for me while he was there. So I can really only speak for the quality of pastry this time. This thing was amaaazing. It was a tart filled with a thick buttermilk custard, topped with a super thin disk of white chocolate and a donut shaped round of some kind of blackberry cream. I don't know how they made such a decadent treat taste so light! The pastry crust was perfection, not greasy or crumbly. The flavor was refreshingly fruity and not too sweet at all. And there were so many textures!! It really was perfect. I can't wait to visit myself. This makes Mohegan Sun much more interesting to me!

Salmon croissant sandwiches, blueberry scone, strawberry rhubarb danish, iced matcha latte, hot vanilla coffee

We finally got the chance to try Sift! The line was long but it moved fast! All of their desserts looked like artwork! I had to limit myself but I'll be back again! We got up early and had the iced matcha latte and my morning go-to, hot vanilla coffee. It was perfect. They asked my daughter how sweet she wanted the matcha latte. It was perfect... not too sweet. We both loved the salmon croissant sandwich, blueberry scone and strawberry rhubarb danish. There were plenty of open tables and very clean! We'll definitely be back!

Have been to Sift in Mystic- was happy to see they opened at Mohegan Sun. Prime location at the top of the escalator. Always a line- day or night- but efficient service. Open late nights after the shows. Who doesn't need a midnight snack? I had this amazing vanilla cake- delish. Friendly service- with IG-worthy creations.

Came here for breakfast before heading back home from the casino. Let me tell you they did not disappoint! Never mind Kristy Kreme-this is the place to go for a phenomenal breakfast pastry. Service is cafeteria style where you order then head to cash register to pay. Every item is beautifully showcased so you can see what you like! In addition to breakfast pastries they offer breakfast sandwiches, desserts and macarons. Also caffe and tea style beverages. My tea was prepared as ordered and hot! The croissants were fresh and buttery. The almond cream filling was light and airy, while the pistachio filling was more like custard. Both were delicious! My only regret was that I was staying long enough to get dessert!

I went to Sift at Mohegan the other day (maybe my third or fourth time at a Sift) and I was satisfied with the light breakfast I ordered. I am a huge fan of an iced latte, and their iced vanilla latte was creamy, rich, and tasty. I would argue that, at least from what I have tried, this is the best coffee spot at Mohegan Sun. My chocolate croissant wasn't exceptional, but it was quite good. Sift offers a huge variety of beautiful sandwiches, salads, pastries, and desserts, all of which are almost too expensive looking to want to eat! With that said, most of their products are actually expensive - nothing unusual for a casino, but a bit pricey for baked goods in my opinion. Also, because of the casino location, I have seen the line get relatively long (20-25 minutes) during peak hours. But, I will definitely be back in the future for breakfast and coffee when I am in the area.

    Banana tart

I've been left pretty unimpressed by the 3 sweets I have bought here yesterday. I got the vanilla cake, the chocolate hazelnut, and the banana tart. Let's go over each one individually. I was mostly looking forward to the vanilla, but was extremely unimpressed with the flavor. Especially the big ball of vanilla chocolate on top. I dont know what was wrong with the chocolate thats used but it did not taste authentic. I like white chocolate but this was not top tier. The mousse or, the main part of the cake was alright. Very light. Not overly sweet. The actual vanilla cake part inside was nice and soaked and very delicious I wish it had more. And I should have read the card, because I was not expecting there to be chocolate inside the "very vanilla" cake. It wasn't even ganache idk what it was but the texture was just off. I was able to finish the cake. Not the chocolate from the top. The chocolate hazelnut cake was probably the best out of the 3. The chocolate whipped cream on top was lacking. The hazelnut mousse part was delicious. Very yummy. There was this weird vanilla like stuff in the middle? Maybe not vanilla? It tasted fruity but i couldn't put my figure on it. Weird tbh. Cake chocolate thing on the bottle was pretty good and the crunchy chocolate on the bottom was a nice touch. It almost makes you think youre eating a hazelnut chocolate. Im not usually a chocolate person but this one was really good. I'd buy it again. Now the banana. Idk what they were thinking but everything is horrible. I LOVE banana and banana flavored things and this was just horrid. The whipped cream is just plain on top, it could have been flavored. The flavor of the next layer is good, but the texture is strange. The next layer after that is yummy too, has a bit of crunchiness. The tart is just too plain. I personally dont think it needs to be a tart. It adds nothing to the dessert and personally I think it takes away from everything else and overpowers it in taste. There's this weird banana ball in the middle. I dont know what its mixed with but it just tastes like over ripe banana and the texture is not great either. Overall, i had such high hopes. Especially since everything was 30$. You'd think something that makes such beautiful creations would do more research on the tastes of their creations. Because it seems to me theyre more worried about their aesthetic then they are on the flavor of their creations. As a pastry chef myself with a degree, its crazy how kind of bad everything was disappointing. Would i purchase from them again? Yes. They have so many things to choose from, and i will not black list a place just because I tried 3 things and didnt like them. Would I buy these again? No. I would recommend the chocolate, but tell people to steer clear of the other two. Not worth the money. Im sorry. Would love to give another chance In the future.

The guy behind the register was mumbling under his breath about 'no sugar content in the food' and said 'they ask a lot of questions.' He is lucky he doesn't have to ask those kind of questions and shouldn't be mumbling under his breath when paying customers are asking questions so they do not cause a spike in blood sugar that could cause a hospital visit. 3) Only one picnic table to sit outside. Now the good: 1) The lady who took our order was really nice, she asked how we wanted the sandwich prepped and answered our questions. 2) They offer an extra meat option for those who like a more filling sandwich. 3) The small sandwiches are rather large. So, if you have a TMJ problem, you may want to consider a bun instead of a grinder bread. 4) the cannolis are delicious, even better than the cannolis my spouse bought at Mike's Pastry in Boston (we waited 30+ minutes in line.
