It was early in the morning when I woke up in Plainfield for a wedding and I was in need of some food. After checking the trusty yelp app, Baker's Dozen was the obvious choose for a quick bite to eat before I unknowingly fell asleep for another two hours. This place is pretty dang big and seems to have a few locations in eastern Connecticut. The staff was nice, the donut selection was even nicer, and for a donut shop, it was a great looking shop too. I settled on an Oreo cookie donut as well as a chocolate sprinkle donut with some milk to wash it down. Both donuts get a big thumbs up from me and I made sure no crumbs were left behind. They tasted fresh and I can't help but think people should absolutely be choosing this over another lackluster Dunkin' location. Overall, I really enjoyed Baker's Dozen and I would absolutely indulge in some donuts on my next trip. read more

Baker's Dozen - It's like milk and cookies but donuts. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Plainfield, Connecticut

Egg was like plastic - Bacon not terrible and not enough of either. Bagel was not good either - Not good! read more

Both Baker's Dozen locations in Plainfield are great. The service is excellent at both. There's no entry for the one in the Valero in Central Village, so I will give them a shout out here. Even when I'm in a "blah" mood, such as this morning, they are always cheerful. Thank you for having such nice people working for you! read more

I thoroughly enjoy going to this location (Plainfield). Coffee is far better than Dunkin' Donuts. The muffins, omg let's talk about the muffins! The orange cranberry is to die for. I believe everything is made fresh at this location and you can taste it. Their donuts are amazing as well. They are always offering specialty donuts like a lucky charm, Oreo, or holiday inspired offerings. Their bagels are soft, flavorful, and big. You're not getting a tiny grocery store bagel here. I have to compliment the management because the ladies working here are always kind, smiling, and fast working. They train their staff right! There is plenty of seating which seems to be an underutilized part of many coffee shops since 2020. The music isn't too loud and you'll be treated with the wonderful aroma of baked goods and coffee the moment the door opens and you enter read more

The counter help are beyond rude. They should realize they're NOT the owner. Customer service needs to be trained I guess.

Don't write open at 5:30AM on the door if you don't open up until after 6:00. ON A WEEKEND! I give lots of business to all of the bakers dozen restaurants. No longer the Plainfield one. read more

Their food is good and the drinks are usually better than anywhere else. Inside is nothing special but the service is always good.

Favorite coffee shop ever. Yea Dunkin is good, but BD is honet. Orders are always accurate, food is always fresh, staff friendly, the line moves quickly... Love it read more

Donuts not fresh lately.. last few times they were stale. Used to be good. Kept hoping was a fluke, 3 times stale. Coffee was decent.

Staff is always friendly and helpful! Coffee is excellent and pastries are fresh! Our go to sit and relax coffee shop!

I went through the drive through with my mom and sister after spending time with my cousins at the lake. I really like my iced chai. My sister ordered a vanilla latte and not only does 'she' not like it but it's not good. Perhaps the coffee is off or something. And my mom did not like her iced coffee as there is a large amount of milk. And they were out of donut holes as well. The lady who took our order was polite and super nice though. read more

This is probably my new favorite coffee spot!! The chai there is the best I have ever had! And they offer a frozen chai that is absolutely delicious!! They are currently taking the COVID-19 seriously by closing the inside with only drive thru access. Wearing safety gloves and switching them out. Each of the girls there have been very pleasant the fees times I have gone through the drive thru, especially in this time of concern with the public. read more

Craving coffee before we exited CT, I've had great success with this chain in the past so when it popped up on 'coffee near me', I knew we had to stop. Not super out of the way if you're getting on and back onto the highway. There was no line in the drive-thru and service was pleasant. They even gave our dog a treat! I got the white pistachio and it was good but a little too sweep with the syrups. The other flavor we tried was chunky monkey and it was surprisingly good which is hard with the banana flavor. Not the strongest coffees as far as caffeine levels but a lot of fun flavors and a smooth drink. I'll continue to visit the chain when in CT for sure. read more

I want to drop the bomb on the Baker's Dozen inside the Valeros gas station in Central Village Moosup area. I think half the staff is either stoned or half retarded. Constantly messing up my orders, forget my items, lie about the freshness of the pastries...which are nasty here for some reason. Every other bakers dozen is great except for this one! read more

I love this place but they don't know how to toast sandwiches and bagels. No one wants a soft bagel with cream cheese or a cold breakfast sandwich. If the cheese is not even melted, it's a sign you're doing it wrong. Y'all need to improve this. I ask for well done every time and still somehow get cold slice of cheese. Begging for help on this situation. The staff is always friendly and the drinks are great. read more

Blech. The coffee had that taste like it had been sitting in the bottom of the pot for hours. The everything bagel was simply not a good bagel and had minimal seasonings. The egg on the sandwich was a microwaved frozen patty and the sausage was sub-par. Their motto is "buy local" but what they're selling their neighbors is lower quality than the Dunkin' across the parking lot. Pass. read more

Do you like receiving cold food? Then this is the place for you! Don't like cold food? Well, then I would suggest going somewhere else. If you dare say something about your food being ice cold, managment offers no solution and makes it out to be your fault. It's a shame since it should be an easy fix, if management cared about their customers and had a clue how to run a business. It's a shame because otherwise I do really like this place, unfortunately the manager made no effort to fix the problem. read more

Always fresh. The Plainfield shop needs a bigger parking lot, it's always busy. They get you in and out fast.

Great little place! Staff was very friendly and the snacks were good! The coffee was better than dunks and priced right! Will be back when I'm in the area read more

Super service, excellent coffee, and excellent bagels! Definitely higher quality than Dunk....I'll return!

I stop here for my coffee and sometimes muffin everyday on my way into work because of their consistent fresh made coffee, delicious pastries and friendly service. Every month or so they have a new seasonal flavor for the coffee and pastry case which is always worth a try and usually fantastic, banana has been one of my favorites by far. Great place to stop for a quick coffee by people who aren't completely miserable behind the counter, but friendly and talkative. read more

For people who know good coffee, the coffee at this Baker's Dozen is consistently bad. No one has been properly trained to make coffee, espresso, cappuccino, etcetera. I asked for a cappuccino and what they gave me wasn't even made in the espresso machine. It was more akin to a overly sweet Frappuccino - except that even Starbucks makes a better cappuccino. The girl told me that "This is a cappuccino. What you want is a latte." A cappuccino is a WELL ESTABLISHED art. It is considered to be the mark of a good barista. It is not a word that can be arbitrarily applied to JUST ANY OLD CONCOCTION - changing the method and recipe actually changes it into something that is NOT a cappuccino. And yet this is precisely what Baker's Dozen has done. If you want a hot drink from this place, get tea, at least it will be tea. https://www.roastycoffee.com/cappuccino-vs-latte/ https://www.davidlebovitz.com/making-perfect/ I'm providing these links in hopes that the owners of Baker's Dozen will read them and learn how espresso, cappuccino, and lattes are traditionally supposed to be made. read more

Great coffee at a fair price. Quaint atmosphere, centrally located in in the middle of town. The cinnamon stick I had was also very delicious! Yelp, are you going to remove this review from me as well?! If so, I will no longer use your service. read more

Baker's Dozen - BEC goodness. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Plainfield, Connecticut

This is a GREAT spot in town for coffee. I'm from out of town and come to visit only when we're seeing my in-laws, and this place saves my soul when I'm there. I love their iced cappuccinos (my go to order) and they get items out fast to you. The place is clean, the staff are all very friendly. Donuts are good and kids love them, and their bagels are usually my go to food after a long drive up from DC. The other food is average. Decent choices and a good spot for good coffee. Their bathroom is average with two single stall bathrooms. Personally, I don't see the benefit of having the bathroom labeled as "male" and "female" when only one person can go into the bathroom at a time anyway (and both bathrooms are literally identical- no urinal in the male designated bathroom), and I think making it just a unisex bathroom can make any lines to the bathroom move faster (there were people waiting for the bathroom when the other was clearly open) and be more inclusive. A great spot in this town and I'm always happy to get my coffee fix here. read more

If you enjoy hair on your breakfast sandwich this is the place for you! The coffee is good, food and service very sketchy

You won't find a better group of women serving you than at this coffee shop. If their smiles were any brighter you'd need sunglasses. Very friendly people. Only dislike I have are the coffee cups. They get TOO HOT too soon. Need to have two cups or you can't drink it right away. read more

Great store-made donuts. Friendly service. Wish I lived closer.

Delicious hazelnut truffle coffee. Muffins are fresh and big! Friendly people. Very enjoyable

Love how I randomly found this place driving south on 395. I despise Dunkin Donuts and love small businesses like this. The coffee is great, good prices, service is great and there is a drive-thru! Donuts look good but I try to stay healthy. read more

I do not live in the area of Connecticut where all of the Bakers Dozen shops are located, but when I am in the area I always stop for an iced coffee. They have such a large variety of swirls for your coffee and it's delicious. I would love for a Bakers Dozen shop to open in the New Haven, CT area, because I would go everyday over Dunkin Donuts! Staff is always very friendly and energetic which you don't see much these days! read more

The coffee is incredibly weak and watered down, even with a second at .15 it was not worth it. You are better off getting coffee from the cumbies across the street. Thanks for the brown water. read more

Hazelnut truffle coffee is delicious! Extraordinarily sweet staff (the woman who took my order made a great recommendation for the coffee and was patient with my breakfast sandwich indecision haha) and drive through is super convenient!! read more

Just fine for a quick stop. Easy in/off from 395, cold frozen drinks and smoothies on a blistering hot day. Lots of fresh muffins and donuts. read more

Nice local coffee shop. Iced coffees are weaker than dunks but they have a lot more flavor choices.

I wouldn't call their iced coffee coffee at all.. More like coffee flavored water.. Not good coffee. But service is nice.

Stopped here twice with friends on our weekend trip to Providence; once on the way there and once on the way back. It's a wonderful little shop in the true New England style; their Skinny sandwich and hot cocoa were wonderful! I should note that I'm VERY picky about my cocoa. :) I just wish they were closer! read more

On the way to RI we saw a sign for Honey Dew Donuts. So we get off the exit and no Honey Dew in sight just The Bakers Dozen. (Whatever, just something new to try) To my disappointment, just another commericial place that shells put premade donuts. 2 stars for the kid behind the counter. read more

When I'm in NE CT and I need a cup o joe, I stop at the Bakers Dozen. They have plenty of flavors to choose from. My favorite, Almond Joy. Their breakfast sandwiches are made fresh daily. And they feature a daily trivia question which could net you a free donut. read more
