a display of doughnuts and pastries

It's been awhile since I stopped here, and it's still a place that has excellent donuts, muffins, pastries, etc. Much better than the large chain that decided to delete the word "donuts" during its rebranding. If the rating were solely based on the quality of the donuts I bought, it would be a solid 4, possibly even 4.5. The reason for the lower score is the "donut upcharge" I noticed on the receipt when I got home. I called the business and was told there is an upcharge for certain donuts (oreos and double chocolate among them). So, I got charged an additional 80 cents for the one oreo donut I bought. It's not the 80 cents that bothered me, it's the fact that there's no signage re: this. Nor did the clerk mention it. Just kind of ticked me off. Buyer beware.

Always a solid breakfast sandwich. My go to is a sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel with an iced coffee (1 milk, 2 sugars) The ingredients always taste fresh. Clean restaurant and friendly staff.

While driving through an unfamiliar part of CT, we came across A Baker's Dozen! My fiancé wanted to stop in and get a coffee, and when I saw their donuts, I knew I had to give them a try! I tried the Boston cream and chocolate frosted. They weren't bad, though I've had better - it was earlier in the day and they already seemed a bit stale. My fiancé enjoyed his coffee though, and I was impressed that they had macarons and whoopie pies in their fridge!

Pretty solid donuts. These aren't the greatest donuts I've ever had but I've been wanting to try them for a while and was surprised that they were pretty good. I always pass this on my way to family in CT so finally making the trip was worth it for sure. The yeast donuts are generally better than the cake donuts...although the pumpkin & apple cider donuts were very tasty & those were cake... so maybe they're all just good and I'm being bratty because I did end up eating all of them anyway. It's convenient because there's a drive through so you might as well stop if you're passing by. Looks like they have a lot of yummy drink/coffee options as well.

The staff here at the Baker's Dozen in Pomfret is Simply Exceptional, especially during this Pandemic all employee's are Safe, Conscientious & Pleasant. Also, even when you might see a long line of cars\trucks at the drive-through, they magically move it along at road-runner pace. Staff: 5 out of 5 Location (Route 101 in Pomfret): 5 out of 5 Parking (always plenty of spots): 5 out of 5 Front of the House Cleanliness (when interior is re-opened): 5 out of 5 Bathroom Cleanliness (when interior is re-opened): 3 out of 5 WiFi Reliability (when interior is re-opened): 2 out of 5 Telecommuting Spot (when interior is re-opened): 5 out of 5

A very cool place! All kinds of donuts and muffins and bagels and turnovers and even feta-spinach pastries. I stopped on the way to Rhode Island tonight to take a break, and was very impressed at their huge dining room -it looked like someone's living room with a fireplace, plenty of tables and seating nooks with big stuffed chairs. The server was pleasant and chatty, my coffee and snack were great. They even have a drive-through lane for those in a hurry to get their caffeine fix. To be honest, it was a real pleasure to stop here and relax.

The flavors danced on your tongue. Wished we had a few more sprouts. The Cuban Ruben was also a delicious flavor combo. I expected the sandwich to be warm but it was cold. The house made corned beef was perfection (lean, no fat and super flavorful)(wished for a tad more) slaw, fresh homemade pickles all very fresh and delicious! Don't pass on the house made chips, salt & vinegar. These were a delight! We loved it there and will definitely be back. The place had a great crowd and clearly a favorite for many locals. We saw their menu that they had a beef…read moreWellington and at the very end of the description it said "deconstructed" so I called to check with that meant. The hostess, who was on was very new, and I don't think she fully understood what I was asking. She ended up telling me that, Yes it was a normal beef Wellington. Cool, so excited, don't see those often. We get there, I order it because I already asked for clarification and didn't think I'd need to ask a second time. As we were waiting for our food, I saw some dishes come out from the table across from us and the waitress said, "Here is your beef Wellington". I realized that it was a concept of beef Wellington, but not a traditional beef Wellington, which is what I'd been worried about. We hadn't seen our server in a while so I went over to the bar and let them know that I wanted to cancel my order because it just wasn't what I wanted and the price tag was $60. I've been willing to pay that if it was what I had my heart set on, but it wasn't. They said they would cancel it. In a little bit, someone then came over, not our waitress, to tell me that I will be charged half of the price of the beef Wellington because I canceled it and it was already made. And of course, I was not OK with that. I once again explained to them that I had called and asked if it was a traditional beef Wellington and was told that yes it was. They said that the hosts are not trained on the menu so they cannot answer questions on them. I then asked what is the point of having someone who is untrained on the menu answer your phones because sometimes people are going to ask questions before they choose to come to a restaurant. I refused to pay the $30, she stated she would have to call the manager back because the manager was not on premises that day and see what she could do. In the meantime, they brought out the beef Wellington that they made and tried to entice me to eat it and I of course said no thank you. Finally, they told me I didn't have to pay. I ordered the stew appetizer. It was very small but tasty, and I was pretty hungry at that point so I'm glad I ordered it. Not sure I'd try this place again, but maybe if I lived closer. Not having a manager on premises really made it tough, it was a massive waiting game to get an answer, and I've never heard of a place blame the customer for their knowledge gaps. I definitely will not be going out of my way to come here again.

It's clear the person making the decision on what percentage of that 15 % you get is not qualified or even knows what's he's looking at . FYI if you have an ID card that means you have retired from the military - at least 20 years . I don't look for military discounts . i was passing though Connecticut and we stopped their for lunch . Saw the offer on the menu . Asked about it and provided my I'd card and the waitress came back and said 10 % . Not sure why I wasn't offered what it said on the menu. But the man who was a big fat guy I might add clearly doesn't know what he's looking at . A military veteran who has not retired will not have an ID card , no way to verify his or her service . I wouldn't have inquired about it if it wasn't on the menu and if I thought I would be humiliated by some fat guy who clearly has not served himself . And doesn't know how to read or understand military I'd cards. Military personnel beware this restaurant has no integrity and does not stand by what they offer. Don't bother stopping Ret 1SG USAR
