This family run restaurant took amazing care of the 8 of us for brunch. We typically go to dim sum nearby but I'm glad it was closed today so that we found this place! Everyone was so sweet and really made us feel like a part of the family. When we sat down the owner gave us complimentary blueberry-banana bread that she had baked this morning - it was delicious! Two of us have dietary restrictions that we are usually hesitant to ask about, but at that point Monique had spoiled us so much (9 options for toast!) and traded so many jokes that we felt totally comfortable asking for modifications. This is a cute little breakfast place right down the road from us, so we thought we'd check it out. The staff were all friendly and also efficient. We loved all the photos on the wall showing how this restaurant has been part of the community for some years. Our food was overall good, but not amazing. I got an eggs benedict special and added spinach at the server's recommendation; I was surprised that it came on a bed of spinach, rather than cooked and on top of the English muffin with the other ingredients. Everything was cooked well, and I enjoyed my meal. My husband got an omelet and the home fries, which were fine. We also got some of the house-made banana bread with blueberries but were disappointed that it lacked structure and was rather soggy. We toasted it up at home in slices, and that was much better. My husband said the coffee was "fine--regular diner coffee." We were frankly shocked by the prices. We are used to California restaurant prices, which are quite high--but our breakfast here was even more expensive than that. Such a hidden gem that's been around for over 50 years! Very down home country vibe with welcoming servers and incredible selection of food and sweets. They use baronet coffee which is a huge plus in my book- it's so good and local! We tried the Elvis French toast - omg pb j and banana vibes yes please! This family owned country store/ restaurant is a must try if you are in the area or after going to Mohegan Sun. It is less than 15 minutes from the casino and easy to get to. I've been going to Herbs for the last several years. I enjoyed the food and the friendly hustle and bustle. However, I was there a few weeks ago for breakfast and left slightly disappointed. I ordered eggs, bacon, toast, and homefries. Herb's is one of the very few places that knows how to prepare eggs, but this time it fell flat. The eggs had no seasoning and were overcooked. The homefries were mealy, grainy, and had no crispiness to them. The sourdough toast had a very chemically aftertaste and it was barely toasted. As usual, service was top notch, but I've seen a slip in food quality/preparation. And the price for breakfast was quite high....I do not mind paying for good food, but mistakes like these are not worth it. I will definitely come back one more time, because I'm hoping it was a fluke. But not for awhile. read more

We had an absolutely delightful breakfast following an evening at Mohegan Sun. The staff was the friendliest, not just our waitress, but the entire staff. We were greeted with free samples of 2 delicious homemade breads. The classic and creative (Pastrami Hash) Benedict's were outstanding. The Pancakes were beautiful, the spicy Sweet Potato Hash was a great side. My daughter had a classic Egg BLT sandwich on a Pumpernickel bagel and a fruit bowl which she said was excellent.
