I love going to Dennys as it is my favorite place to eat but will not come to this one again. The time it took for us to get our food was ridiculous the cooks were working hard but it seemed like no coordination at all in team members . server looked lost half the time and the kid in orange washing dishes was constantly on his phone with another server at one point they were all in a group showing eachother stuff on their phones while tables were dirty and our food took forever. The food came out quickly and fresh and tasty. While our order came out the Manager (I believe her name was Clarissa) was going around tables asking how everything was (including our table) which was a first coming from Denny's. As we were leaving to pay the bill, Jessica also asked how everything was and if anything was. They take their customer service seriously!!! Just wish other Denny's can use them as an example. First of all, I want to say that this is the second review I've ever left on Yelp. I only comment when something is REALLY BAD! Can I select ZERO stars? Like, they make you select at least ONE STAR!? I have been to this location countless times over the years. Literally countless because my kids love it. I've never had an issue until today. Whoever the "hostess/waitress" was on 9/25/24 was a complete rude "who now what" who hated her job and shouldn't be employed. I didn't realize that they changed their hours until 8:00PM until we got there at 7:20PM. Oh, but the RUDE hostess reminded us that closing time was 8:00PM. I asked if they were still seating people for orders. She rolled her eyes and said, "yes". My children (7 and 10) began to make their drink order. She was "out" of everything. Literally, 3 of the 5 of us ordered water. After 10 minutes of her ridiculous attitude I told my children that I'd rather eat anywhere else. They agreed! Even my autistic 10 year old, who absolutely loves this place, agreed because she was THAT RUDE! We got up from the table and asked her to cancel our "water" order. She asked "why". I said, "because you are incredibly rude". She screamed across the restaurant, "oh because I didn't have any tea?". I proceeded to walk out and not engage. Placed a rather large late night order for a pick up and when I picked up the food I saw regular roaches running around our bag on the counter where it was waiting to be retrieved. Now I could see a lone palmetto bug during the summer time as they are just here outside and they do come in searching for water. That doesn't mean an establishment is dirty it's just unavoidable with those creeps! But regular German cockroaches and multiple running and scurrying around our bag with our food in it! That's a cleanliness problem! We will never eat there again and we didn't eat the food that night. I chucked into the dumpster on my way home because there was no reason to take it out on the employees. I want to say that the service was OUTSTANDING. I am not the biggest fan of Denny's, as I feel they're just okay. However, we came to Myrtle Beach on spring break from Georgia and we have no Denny's near us, so the group was eager and excited to come here for lunch. We arrived with four adults and nine children and the looks as we walked in were comical. However, our waitress was so wonderful and very patient with our kiddos. She was attentive and very caring and didn't flinch when a drink spilled, or someone was crying because something fell on the floor. My cranberry apple chicken salad was really delicious and my boys really enjoyed their dino nuggets.
