Had my card number stolen here on 4/12 then used in ridgecrsst at restaurants and walmart ,don't eat here unless you want your card stolen

This is always our go-to spot in Mojave to each lunch when we are driving to and from Kernville for camping. The parking lot is big enough to park an RV easily. Service is not super fast but we usually don't mind the break from driving. Food is good and prices are reasonable. Servers can be hit or miss. read more

It was about 9 pm and I was done driving. This was about the only place open. Probably the cleanest Denny's I've ever seen. The waitress was super nice and the food was OK. I've never been blown away by Denny's food so I wasn't expecting a whole lot. BUT if I am ever in Mojave after 9 pm and starving I wont hesitate to stop by again. read more

I took my 100% disabled 91 year old Korean war vet dad that walks with a walker, and my 85 year old mother that has Lupus, to Mojave Dennys for their Veterans Day free Denny's breakfast. They both are vets and so both of them were very excited about getting breakfast and taking it home to eat. Because of covid 19 and their age and health, they could not eat at the restaurant - it would be just too dangerous. I was surprised people were even being seated, since most counties in CA at this time are completely shut down for indoor dining and it's cold out this time of year, so eating outside is not even an option. Every listing online that showed Dennys was rewarding war vets with a free breakfast, said that it was for "Dine in or take out". When we walked in Denny's a woman that was acting as possibly a manager around age 50 came up and barked at us in an nearly violent and very angry manner, saying that the owner of the restaurant will not let any vet take their breakfast to go, that they have to eat their breakfast there inside the restaurant. I started explaining to this woman that they are elderly and can't eat there because of covid 19, and that every online post that showed Denny's was offering this free breakfast for vets, showed that it was for "dine in or takeout". She snapped back at me and screamed at me; "stop chastising me!" I said I wasn't chastising you, I was only telling you what all the posts online said that this vet breakfast at Denny's showed "dine in or takeout". The whole time I was saying this she was yelling over the top of me and screaming that "IT'S DINE IN ONLY!" So I took my old folks out the door and we all hobbled back to our car and we went home. Yes I hobble a bit too, since a few years ago I had a major stroke. It's rough too, because I'm my folks sole caretaker - no one helps me - it's 100% me with "zero help" from anyone. Dennys treating them this way really hurt and upset my dad and mom, so it really upset me too, so we will never eat at this Denny's ever again and I plead with everyone, do not eat there, because the owner allows old crippled disabled sick war vets to be treated like trash and he kicks them out of his restaurant if they ask for takeout - this Dennys was so disrespectful. Another thing that was crazy, was that when we walked into this Dennys the place reeked of sewer gas. It was beyond anything I've ever smelled anywhere, it smelled as if we took a rotten egg and smashed it on our N95 face masks. We could actually smell it strongly through our masks, and these 3m N95's you can't even smell perfume or food through. I would think the health department would have a problem with this and to think, the owner was forcing war vets that came there for their free breakfast to sit there and eat it in that stinch. Trust me, anyone walking through that door would have turned around and immediately left, unless they came there for their free vets breakfast, so everyone sitting in there in that terrible rotten egg stench must have been war vets that were forced to eat their breakfast in that terrible stench. read more

Mojave has a history -- pre-58 bypass and post. In the olden days, I was a regular. This was a pretty good diner. After the bypass it rapidly declined. The food and service became substandard compared to other Denny's. Someone added big screen TVs (awful!). During a remodel some moons ago, they removed the TVs (better!) but the other problems have remained. The other day, I decided to try this location again. Unfortunately -- sad to say -- the food was burned and the staff slow, inconsiderate, unfocused, and borderline rude. I added a star because it's cleaner and nicer aesthetically than the previous try, thanks to the remodel. You might be better off going to one of the fast food shops along Sierra Highway, or one of the small restaurants near Stater Bros. I hope the other Denny's I enjoy don't take a dive. If you try it, I hope things are better for you. read more

We really enjoy this Denny's as Carlos and his people really know how to keep customers satisfied with great service and great food. This location is the best. We have tried ones in Tehachapi, Lancaster, Palmdale and even across the country. The food is hot, the service is quick. Coffee is good too. Just wish that they could be cloned so we would have service and food like this no matter what Denny's we eat at. read more

The restaurant was clean and the associates were very nice and accommodating. I had the chicken strip dinner with mashed potatoes and corn, I was surprised how good it was (except the potatoes were instant). My wife had the Tilapia Ranchero, and she said it was good. read more

if i could give you 100 stars i would!! just simply based on the fact that when i was there 3 hours ago, i overheard a conversation.. I want to give big time kudos to the waitress & the manager for doing such a good deed! there was a girl in the corner crying her eyes out. as I was having dinner, i overheard part of the conversation... sounded like she was stranded... well as we were leaving, i heard the waitress tell her that if she was hungry, she can order whatever she wanted and it was on the house (thought that was very nice of them!!). so i asked the waitress as we were paying, what happened to her? she tells me that the girl got her vehicle towed and she was trying to get home to vegas... so i gave her $20. read more

First I've been eating at Denny's for 50 years and I have never ran into this type of problem before with a chain restaurant. (Bait and switch or false advertising, whatever you choose to call it). Driving into Mojave from the east there is large billboard for the Denny's showing a picture of the "Original Grand Slam" (two eggs, two pancakes, two strips of bacon and two sausage links), the ads states the price at $3.99 anytime. So I tried to order it. No one working there has heard of it, it's not available, etc. etc.. I'm sure I'm not the first one to see the billboard ad and order it. I emailed Denny's, through their website, explaining the situation, suggested they either stop advertising the meal or start honoring what they advertise and asking for an explanation. They have not bothered to respond, perhaps they endorse this type of policy. Now, let's get to the food. I ended up having eggs, sausage and pancakes. I ordered the eggs over-medium, because if you order over-easy the whites are sometimes runny, well the whites were still runny, yuck. The sausage and pancakes were fine. the server was friendly and service was fine, not withstanding not knowing about their billboard advertisement. If the service had not been as good as it was, I would have only given one star. Update, since I said above they have not responded and I want to be fair, I just received the following email from the restaurant: "Hi i want to thank you for stopping by at our Denny's in Mojave and we apologize for to what happened i think we failed to communicate well with our staff we have a special key for that promotion but the server did not ask anyone about it ,so we have wrote a memo to all the servers about it and they all know about the promotion we were not trying to mislead any one we pay lots of money for the billboard and we want people to come in and use the promotion .please stop by again and we will be glade to serve you ,i would like to offer you free drink or dessert on your next visit just ask for Frank or Mohammad, " read more

Seriously in the middle of nowhere, but we stopped here on the way to Mammoth Lakes, CA. This Denny's is subpar to other Denny's - which doesn't say much at all, really. Service was slow, they forgot some orders, messed up other orders (twice!), and employees were not happy to be here. Would I go here again? Probably not - I'd probably stop at the McDonald's down the street if it stopped by Mojave, CA again! read more

It's a Dennys, and you know what to expect. The service is pretty fast and friendly, and it's the only sit-down eatery in all of Mojave. The ladies restroom smells gross. I would highly recommend avoiding it. read more

I was marooned here for several early morning hours in January, 2011 when the pass over the mountains back to Bakersfield was closed due to a blizzard. We pulled into Denny's seeking refuge and hot chocolate. This place was crazy due to the influx of stranded motorists (all the motels were full due to the storm) but the wait was not too long and the waitresses pleasant. Alas, they were out of hot chocolate (Seriously? Who runs out of hot chocolate?) but the pancakes were hot and they didn't try to rush us along in spite of the other people waiting to get tables. If they'd had hot chocolate, I'd have given them 4 stars! read more

The manager here is hilarious. Food is ok but my experience here was fun. I don't eat at many corporate diners but food was needed for a long road trip and majority vote won. The rating this place was given is absurd. If you're eating at a diner off the highway, you really can't expect too much. The staff is extremely nice and the food was pleasing. Consistency. A chain resturant should strive to be average. Any change from average is bad for the chain. If to good then all others in the chain looks bad. If the resturant is bad then all the others still look bad. So for a chain resturant to be great it must be average. This one is average. read more

Ate dinner here a few times over the past couple of years. Dirty utensils and drink glasses. Service is okay. Food quality is very poor! Their best hamburger has no taste and the meat is some flavorless strange texture mystery meat with filler. About the only thing that's safe to eat if you don't want to get the squirts are the 2 or 3 kinds of breakfast skillets that are served hot and sizzling on a hot cast iron skillet that's so hot that no bacteria could survive on the food! read more

My wife and I like to try local places when we are travelling. We found a couple to look at, walked there from our hotel - one was closed for dinner, the other was closed for good. It was cold and we didn't want to keep walking, so we went to Denny's. It wasn't awesome, but better than we expected. Today I visited your location in Mojave, CA. I am a frequent customer and usually find my experience with the food and service very pleasant. However after today I will never come back. I normally have good experiences at this location, and eat here frequently. Today I had a server that didn't smile, greet or check on us. I constantly had to get up and ask for help or wave her down. After getting up and asking for a box, I waited over 5 minutes and decided to just go to the cashier and pay then waiting longer for my bill. After I paid my husband and I left a 20% cash tip even though our service was below satisfactory. Once we walked out the two doors our server ran after us and yelled loud enough for the customers outside and sitting by the window to hear. "Excuse me, you never paid your bill". I was completely humiliated and told her yes I did, she asked if I was sure then ran in to confirm instead of doing that with the person I paid with that she ran passed to yell at us in the first place. She never came back out to apologize. I will never go back here again. Even 1 out of 10 other great servers will stop me from coming. I won't allow myself to be embarrassed or accused of stealing ever again. My husband said from the beginning that he felt she was discriminating us, and at the end I feel like he was right. Me and my husband went to the DENNYS in Mohave CA on Sunday March 1st with our army veteran grandson and and his fiancé. We took awhile to order but when we were leaving my grandson paid our bill and I went up to let the manager know there was a few HAIRS in my daughterinlaws nachos with sour cream plus I had ordered the blueberries hush like muffins they came and they were so crpytified I couldn't bite into them and my grandsons girls buffalo wings were the same what a horrible afternoon that was and to TOP it me and and my daughterinlaws were almost outside the second doors and the manager a man yelled out saying it was probably your hairs in the food. Oh how unprofessional was that in 68 yeas old and I have been going to Denys all over and have never in over 40 years of my life had anyone be so rude hope who ever reads this doesn't have the same experience that we all had my grandson served 4 years of his life cooking for 100's of men and women and knows that u have to change the oil sometime. Other wise u get nasty ass stuff from that main reason very poor service in the so called chef dept have called health dept on that restraint happy eating everyone beware the waitress was even having trouble getting the cooks to get the orders right we had overheard her telling them im not having another day like this god bless read more

Third visit to denny's within the last few months and this was the worst of the worst. We arrived at 9:30 am and no one offered us coffee for about 15 minutes. Then after placing our order and waiting until 10:20 am did pieces of our breakfast start to arrive. Waitress delivered pancakes and waffle and said we would get the rest when ever it came up? No syrup, no eggs or bacon just cold pancakes & waffle the rest of us nothing. Another 10 minutes still nothing. Funny that people who came in after us seem to get coffee and food before us. The managers seem to play favorites towards the Hispanic customers. Discrimination against the Caucasian could this be? The waitress asked the mangers to speak to us, one did not and turned his back the other told my sister he would discount the our meals (5 of us). We never got the rest of our meal and just brushed us off. We told him that we were not waiting for our meal and took our business else where. Horrible customer service. The only time the waitress comes to check on you is when she getting ready to give you the check. They are never busy compared to the average ones that have you waiting for a table. The bacon is horrible tasting. One occasion my french toast was still raw but we had it ToGo that time so it was to late. Speaking of Togo is why I rated a 1 could do 0 if an option. My bf was calling to order in advance, the girl put him on hold by putting the phone down because we could hear the entire background. After TEN minutes he got mad and said let me smoke a cig and actually see how long this person has me like this. I seen his frustration so I tried calling on my phone but all I got was the busy tone I guess from my bf being on the line but with the phone laying on a table somewhere I guess. He then decided to walk there since we were close by at the time visiting staying at a hotel. He got there then hung up, no one came to his service so he sat on the couch. A couple came in after ordered ToGo got their food and left and still went unnoticed . It was not until the a worker off the clock we assume was staring at him and observing the whole time asked him if he had been helped? He said no, she said she was off the clock already but took his order and when the other girl (the one that did not serve him) came she told him she threw in extra order of hashbrowns did not say why, but we knew it was because she knew she screwed up and did not want that report. I was more pissed at my bf for actually still staying and giving this company our money. The worker did not even care about him! Took a off duty worker to order our food! My family and I went in last night 2/17/19 and the gal with burgundy hair at the front counter refused to seat us (half yelling) that she had orders to drop. She then went and dragged another server over to seat us. The new server sat us in burgundy hair's section gave us our menus and left. We waited 20 minutes without even being asked for our drink order. We watched as others were sat around us and served while we waited. The restaurant had people, but it was by no means full or with people waiting. After 20 minutes the server who sat us yelled (while taking an order) that burgundy had a table and if she couldn't handle it then someone else would. From somewhere in the restaurant, burgundy yelled some inappropriate comments. At this point we got up and walked out. We ended up at Carl's Jr. where the staff was friendly and service was with a smile. This is not the first time we have had poor service and lukewarm, inedible food from this Denny's. Corporate if you are reading this, it's time to investigate, clean house or retrain. We will be driving to Tehachapi next time we have a craving for Denny's. read more

WE were greated by a new employee and she seated us. The waiter was a male of other decent. WE requested only coffee. WHEN he brought our coffee i was looking for sugar in the holder and only pulled up empty packs that were already used and set them on the table. THE male server then said all get you some. HE brought a bowl of sugar packets.WE were out of coffee and our server did not come around for 30 minutes. WHEN we went to the cash register we did not even have a receipt. MY friend that was with me payed- $4.71 for two cups of coffee. THE new employee i think her name was nicole was being trained by another female on the register and made the transaction. NO we did not get a receipt either upon paying. THE waiter that was assigned to our table came by the register and just said bye and walked away. WE did complain and the trainer i asked for a complaint form the survey code is 03012-10645-1108688. The time we arrived was about 1015am at the MOJAVE DENNY'S. THE resturant was not busy at all. THE waiter i would have fired on the spot for his rudeness and his non-chalant attitude in representing your business. read more

Next time you come to this Dennys or any other Dennys make sure to ask for a box if you plan to eat the rest of your food later. Do not let anybody take your food away from your table!!!! My waitress instead of offering me a box for my food, threw my food in the garbage can. I came back to the restaurant the following morning and complained to the manager and he graciously offered to replace my full meal. I was happy. read more
