I frequented Dennys on a regular basis in my younger years, but now I rarely visit. My kiddo wanted a burger. I know I know Dennys isn't the usual first choice but the place she really wanted to eat at would've been $60 and I didn't feel like paying that so we hit up Dennys. My kiddo got a burger with plenty of pickles and ketchup. A side salad & a strawberry milkshake. I want to give you 100 stars alone bc my kiddo actually opted to eat a side salad. I couldn't believe my ears!! I had the salmon, broccoli and red potatoes. My kiddo even ate some salmon!!! She is never willing to try but she said it looked good and wanted some. She enjoyed it and asked for more! I was in absolute shock. Our meal was $26 and some change and my kiddo even ate some salmon and vegetables! Dennys you're a winner. The bathrooms need some work. Wouldn't recommend.. food and drinks wasn't good. We had the fried chicken dinner and pancakes, chicken didn't seem cook that well and Pancakes was just not good.. We also got Oreo milkshake and mango smoothie. The mango was water down and there were nearly Oreo in our shake. Service was good, just the food. read more

1am-6am is usually when I come here.....does that give you idea of why I'm here? Basically just order breakfast. It's very easy to come here and spend $10 or less. The photo with the manger sitting at the counter is funny because I have seen it not only with the manger but with waiters sitting with their friends..... it wasn't a problem for me. Usually reliable as a decent breakfast spot, I've been disappointed the last couple times dining here. The wait staff is great! I'll say that up front, but I've been waiting longer for my food order and one time my hashbrowns came out rather cold; ok not actually cold, but barely warm-- had to send it back. This time at the restaurant, I ordered my bacon crispy-- the kitchen got it right, however it seems Denny's (maybe concerned about our cholesterol levels) is shrinking portion size of the strips. Yes, it's Denny's and yes, we never expect things to be fantastic. This Denny's made our already presumed assumption concrete. Sunday afternoon we weren't greeted, but seated promptly. Our waitress was friendly. But when you're starving you're food always seem to take twice as long as, but this time we waited quite awhile and there was only 2 of us. The worse part: my boyfriend's meal came out before mine and he was almost half way done when I finally got mine and I had to wait for the english muffin (honestly you just pop it in the toaster throw some butter on it, not difficult). Scott always enjoys his moon over my hammys, but seriously you can't go wrong with a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. I tried their new meat lover's trio and was extremely happy I could subsitute for egg whites, turkey bacon, and chicken sausage at NO extra cost, not many places do that! Went here tonight for dinner.in this day and age there are plenty of places for me to spend my money. Choose Dennys for location and convenience . But it wasn't those 2 that impressed us. Walked in to have Ali ,I think hes a manager, welcome my wife and I ,sat us down in a booth and got our drinks and as it was kind of busy he took our appetizer order, Nachos awesome. 3 minutes later a waitress Yessina came over and introduced herself ,what a great personality ,and took our order,we ordered 2 Super Birds, since we have not been to Dennys in a very very long time We remember how good these were and they did not let us down, they were perfect. Ali and Yessina will be the reason why we will return here again and again. These 2 people are great assets to a restaurant that I have overlooked. Will return based on their job performance. Denny's service is always great! When I arrived I was asked if my group and I would prefer a booth or a table (I love that I get to choose) and was seated very quickly. The waitress came at a good time, not too fast and not too late either. It was enough time for me to figure out what I'd like to drink. She was very friendly and greeted us with energy. Our food came out quickly and tasted great. Our waitress was always checking up on us asking if we needed anything. The nice man picking up our plates was fast and always came in a timely manner. I don't know what happened to this place. I was a waiter here when it first opened up. My...how the mighty have fallen. It was off to a very auspicious start when my lunch guest and I waited quite the while to be seated. The place wasn't bustling with patrons or remotely full. After we were seated we ordered coffee\tea and water. I didn't receive my water after 2 reminders. And that took an empassioned plea to a passing waittress. I guess the kid was new, which I understand. However, back then you couldn't wear a beard. This kid had a full moustache, beard and a do-rag ! Why? Why did I do it? Am I some kind of masochist? I already knew from childhood that everything about this Denny's is hit or miss. More missing than hitting. The food, service, and the sometimes shady atmosphere. There was literally a pimp and his hoes dinning here one time. Oh wait, that was me. Nevermind. Hoes gotta eat too. I wish I could say I was forced into coming here on the last occasion, but it was a knee-jerk reaction after being sent home from work due to Hurricane Ditka ravaging the western 'burbs. I had yet to have my coffee, and was hungry. And Denny's was right there. I wish it had been somewhere else. Far away. Suffice it to say, I walked out naming all the places nearby where my money would have been better spent. One good thing I can say is the service was spot on. I went to this Denny's really late on Christmas Eve so it was pretty vacant. We were immediately greeted very kindly and energetically at the door by one of the waiters. He immediately went to a seat and when we asked to be seated in another area with more space ( I have a large family) He was very kind about it and set up the area we requested with no attitude. He then asked for our orders. Asking every person their order even my younger shy brothers. He was a great waiter he made our entire party laugh. They took special care about serving the food after we told them about some allergies we had. Our orders were brought out very quickly. We were happy to find that the food looked amazing and was still hot. The entire party's order was correct. We didn't need to send a single thing back We enjoyed our meal very much. read more

This is the absolute worst Dennys I've ever been to. My boyfriend warned me of the service here, and I should have listened. We arrived here on a Sunday around 9am. We were seated right away which was nice. That was the only nice thing about this experience though. It took about 10 minutes for the waitress to even aknowledge us. She took our drink order and it took another 10 minutes to get the drinks. That was the last time we saw our waitress. We waited probably close to a half hour before we decided to leave. I let the manager know and he practically begged us to stay. But screw that, I've watched the movie, Waiting, and I wasnt about to let wait staff and cooks spit in my food, or other things you hear about restaurants doing when you complain. Instead, we drove to the Dennys in Rosemont and had much better service. I will not returning to this Dennys again, and maybe i'll start listening to what my boyfriend says. Meh.... I've been going to this Denny's 20 plus years. As a young teen, we did as all Denny's goes, sit there for hours after spending all day outside in the sun or at the pool and just hang out. As I grew older, gain freedom with a car (and fake IDs..shhhh).... Denny's became the spot to go to sober up after a long nights drinking. But don't worry, Karma is out there and I always paid for it in the next day. The reason I give them the two starts are for some of the wait staff that has been there for as long as I can remember: -Gail being the first one who sadly passed a short while ago. She was amazing and was always super friendly.. and we be greatly missed!! -The one manger, he's an older gentleman. I would imagine he's a nice guy to his staff because the staff is always suppppper relaxed (a lot of times too much so). But he has always been nice and friendly to me. -The Busser. He has been keeping that place clean for years! Most of the time I wish I could just tip him! With the gross ppl that come in there off Mannheim.. you would NEVER know because how clean he is, and super fast! If your waiting on your food take a look around.. I know,I know...what do you want from a Denny's? Well,I don't have especially high expectations,really. Really quite simple expectations.I am not going to a Denny's for a stellar dining experience. I am going because I want breakfast type food quickly. I order my food and it arrives in a reasonable amount of time and it arrives hot or even warm. When this happens,I am content. Seems to be a very rare commodity in Franklin Park to get good service.Not everywhere,but more than a few places lack even basic customer service skills. Too bad, as there really is not a lot of competition,the exsisting restaurants and bars could do very well, if they cared enough to train their staff properly. This does not seem to be the case for some, as they instead,have closed . Poor customer service was most certainly the case today and we were not alone in that dilemma. We were seated behind the service window and could hear the servers bringing back orders or asking for food to be warmed up,or to add something that was forgotten.Also heard more than one plate being dropped,shattering and a bit of cursing going on. It was almost comedic. We both ordered simple egg dishes,nothing fancy or special order. Our server, Carolynne came to our table several times and promised food was forthcoming. 45 minutes later, we got our food and it was cold-very cold. Eggs are not edible cold,not in an omlette at least.The place was busy,I will give them that,but the chaos the kitchen was creating was adding to the drama.We got up,told the manager and left. He begged us to stay,but, that was it. I had recently gone to Denny's with my friends late at night. Since the time was so late I was expecting crap service from the workers. But when I got there it was the complete opposite. Our waitress didn't seem tired at all and was full of energy and was friendly. She was quick with our drinks and food. She would frequently check up on us and always told us to feel free to call her if we needed anything else. Her personality woke me up. The food was good and I really enjoyed their seasoned fries. I went there on a late Sunday afternoon. There were about 15-20 people there in total. We were seated right away and the waitress quickly took our drink orders. We got the drinks and ordered and then we waited about 45min before the food came out. How can you mess up an order that took 45min! The plate had a puddle of oil in it (I know, I know, it's Denny's but this was ridiculous), the cheese in my potatoes was rock hard like it had been microwaved two or three times while it was sitting for 45min, my garlic bread wasn't toasted, my wife's order was missing parts as well. To make it worse our waitress never checked on us once we got the food. It was like she was too embarrassed to come back. The manager never asked us how the food was when we left. I guess I should have complained to him but at that point I just wanted to leave. I've been there 2-3 times and it was great in the past. Finally something new on the menu! My husband and I have been coming here off and on for over a month. On average at least twice/week and finally there's some variety. I usually know if it takes me 10 minutes or more to order and I've looked over the menu more than 5 times someone's in trouble (my husband for suggesting we come here perhaps?). This time though, it was different. I finally had breakfast for dinner. And what a dinner it was. Due to the new Hobbit movie coming out, Denny's has some new items. The best one on the menu, and what I chose was two fried eggs inside a cheddar roll with perfectly cooked bacon and hashbrowns smothered in golden cheddar topped with crunchy bacon. In a word: perfection! My eggs were so perfectly cooked, the yolks just the right amount of runny. The bacon was light and crispy. Beautiful color too. And the taters with cheese...that always makes everything better. I have to find out our server's name because he's always there and is always awesome! Really makes for a great experience. If you're not sure what to order, go with the salad. It's decent sized and always fresh, contrary to popular beliefs. read more

Denny's is a chain restaurant that is located in Melrose Park, IL. The service at Denny's is good and the workers are very friendly. How I would describe the inside of Denny's is roomy. The outside of the parking lot is really big so a lot of cars fit. In Denny's the employees are really nice because when you enter they always smile at you and saying "hi''. One reason I would recommend this place is because their food is delicious. Denny's always cooks the food right like the pancakes. My orders are always cooked correctly and they are never burned. I would tell people about this place because the people that work there are really friendly because they always receive you with a smile and they are always polite. I would recommend this place because the place is always clean. The times I've gone the spoons, plates, and cups are clean and so are the tables. Lastly, I truly recommend Denny's to people of ages 2 and up. Kids ages 2 and up will know how to chew soft foods like pancakes. I will be going back to eat to Denny's because their food is really delicious.I would recommend kids ages 2 and up because that is usually when they start learning how to chew food correctly. This location is just like the others locations - nothing to write home about and nothing spectacular. We didn't have to wait for a table in a crowded restaurant, so that was a plus. The service was just ok. The wait time was just ok. The food was just ok. I think that the food is overpriced for the taste and portion that you get. It was me, my daughter and my son. The bill was $37 and some change. I would go again if I had a serious craving for breakfast and was desperate. read more

I went in with a group of 4 people and we were seated right away. They gave us a good amount of time when to look at the menu and the waitress who took our order was nice. But then for some reason, we got a new one and it took them about an hour and a half to bring out our food from the time our order was placed there was only 4 of us so it wasn't a big order. The food ended up being cold and when we politely asked to speak to the manager or get a refund or discount the manager never showed up.
