Whenever I'm in Chicago I search for hidden gem foodie spots. I mean Chicago is literally foodie Heaven. We didn't dine in because we were trying to prepare for an event but I'm kind of glad we didn't. It's small and dark inside, and I felt like the tables were too close together. But they made up for it all with an AMAZING breakfast. I got the gyro skillet. Absolutely delicious!! The picture does it absolutely no justice.. I never thought of gyro as a breakfast item and now I know I need it often. There were huge portions of meat and amazing tzatziki sauce and nobody will ever call them stingy with the cheese because for every bite I got delicious feta cheese chunks mixed in. It was amazing. The pancakes were basic, there was nothing wrong with them but I'm not going to reminisce on them. But that gyro skillet!!! I can't wait to get it again

Build your own including gyro, broccoli, onion, tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach

Been in this area for a while, first time here. Great spot for a good old fashion breakfast. Nice service. Loved their radio station . All about positive messages. Which is very much needed today. Enjoyed June's service and recommendations. Spot on!. Like I said, just a good old breakfast. I had pancakes, turkey patties and eggs. My gurl had a build your own omlette with gyro meat. I'll be back for sure!!

Both dishes were flavorful and delicious. I was absolutely in love with the pancakes! They were gigantic, beautifully presented, and incredibly rich and satisfying. We were both very happy with our food. Our coffees, however, were just okay and not particularly memorable. The only downside, and the reason I'm taking off 1 star, was my bad experience with their seating policy. I had planned to stay for a while on a weekend to finish my coffee and get some work done. However, because the café was busy and completely full, a waitress politely came to my table and asked me to leave while I was in the middle of working. I understand that restaurants need to accommodate waiting customers, especially during busy hours, but I was still disappointed by the experience. I rarely have been asked to leave a café or coffee shop while I was in the middle of working. Because of this, I would probably choose another café in the future when I'm looking for a place where I can comfortably work for a while. That said, the food was fantastic, and I'd recommend coming here for the pancakes alone.

We're anything but regulars to this place, yet she remembers each of us, like we're her precocious kids. "Let's see Coffee for you four and black tea for you two weirdos, Irish Benedict for you, 2x2x2x2..." Is she guessing, I dont know, but she make me feel like she knows me and cared about. This gem is the polar opposite of a creative, avant guard, posh restaurant, which we also love to go to. Instead, this place is a down-to earth 'warm sweater' sort of a restaurant. There's no caviar or truffles here. Instead, if you like a classic breakfasts, like you ate when you were a child, put on your way-back shoes; and try this place. They make their own corned beef hash and serve it in a myriad of variations. I prefer the 2+2+2+2. Two tender golden pancakes, two eggs basted, two strips of bacon and two sausages. I dont like the sausages but offer them to the others and woof they're gone. Is this a fancy place with 'ambiance', ummm... no. Are my eggs basted, by ladling hot bacon grease over them, like how my mother made them; no - that would be too much to ask. My Mom used to make corned beef and cabbage for dinner the night before, then make corned beef hash the next morning. Again, too much to ask, but this is as close to those paradigms as I'll ever dream of getting. Thank you Mimi!

The menu really does not offer foods for those of different dietary wants/needs.
