I am a meat eater however I do eat Vegetarian meals twice per week. I placed my order to go and felt welcome the second I stepped into restaurant! Staff was super nice. Private parking lot with plenty of spots. Easy access into the restaurant. I opened the container and immediately smiled. The smell of the dishes were amazing! Whether you're vegan or not if you like cheese burgers, order the Beyond Cheesy Burger, you will not be disappointed. I actually had to look at the burger 3 times while I was eating to make sure it wasn't real meat. This was the absolute best prepared Beyond Burger I've had anywhere. And my non-vegan friend with me agreed it was fantastic. This was the cheeseburger of my childhood the way I remember it being made in the (get this) '70s! But this was even better because they added sauteed onions and mushrooms--that made it super juicy! And the price was lower than I've paid for Beyond/Impossible burgers at any other establishment. Really enjoyed the food at Boon! My friend and I got the cheese curds and the Dunkt Butter Chicken. The cheese curds are breaded really nicely - not super thick, so you can really focus on enjoying the cheese (just the way I like it). The Dunkt Butter Chicken had great flavor! I was expecting a sandwich type of thing, but was pleasantly surprised that they cut up the pita and line the bowl with it. The spices were on point, and the chicken was excellently tender. The ambiance is casual, almost has a kind of local cafeteria feel, but it's very comfortable and clean. Service was quick and the staff was very friendly. The owner came out as we were wrapping up, he seems like a really nice guy who loves what he does. Highly recommend checking this place out, they have a LOT of different options on the menu and I absolutely plan to go back and try more! read more

Everything I've eaten here has been delicious! I love that they have a dedicated vegan menu! The owners, husband and wife duo, and also the other staff are all super friendly and customer service-oriented. My favorite dish to order is the Loaded Vegan Nachos with added Beyond Meat. I also enjoy the Vegan Quesadilla, Sumac Clucker Vegan Sandwich, and Hummus. The house iced tea is something special, the wife makes it with her special spice blend. I will continue to dine at Boon Cafe especially when I'm coming in from a flight at O'hare. (^_^) read more

This feels like such a hidden gem in the area; it's always empty whenever I go. Everyone who works there has always been so sweet and genuinely happy to see customers, whether it be for take out or dining in. The food is always flavorful and well seasoned; never a sad taste bud when I'm there! I got the beef chapli burger last time on recommendation of our waitress and it was bursting with flavor. We always get one of their loaded fries when we go - I feel like this is the only place that does loaded fries right. I have yet to try something disappointing here. Came here yesterday with my wife and I am pleasantly surprised at what a gem this place is! The food was absolutely delicious. I'm a sucker for good fries because fries usually get cold and lose the crunch but these fries were phenomenal. I got a classic cheeseburger with coated fries. My wife got a swiss burger with curly fries. We also got a slice of cheesecake and tiramisu. We loved everything. The restaurant was clean and organized. The atmosphere was cool. It's a shame that its location gets overshadowed by the ice cream shop located a couple doors down. They also have vegan options and some Halal food too. Service was also amazing. The food here is wonderful! I'm vegan, my family is not, which is one of the many reasons to love the menu at Boon Cafe. They have wonderful meat dishes like steak quesadillas and po boy sandwiches, but they also have a full vegan menu that can be healthy like curried cauliflower or junk food like vegan chicken po boys. I got vegan curry cauliflower and vegan samosas and they were packed with flavor. Highly recommend this little spot. read more

I have a severe dairy allergy so I seek out vegan restaurants and for the most part they all have the same thing in common. They are trying way too hard. I want delicious food without all of the pretension. This was it. I had the best burger I have ever consumed. I don't know how the vegan cheese was so good but good lord it was heavenly. I found out about Boon Café through Uber Eats! I was excited to try them after seeing they offer vegan options. There were some amazing sounding vegan options, but I saw that they have a Shrimp Cajun Po Boy which sounded good so I ended up ordering that instead! My order was ready in about 15-20 minutes. The lady in the shop was nice and greeted me. The inside of the shop was clean. Their bathroom wasn't the nicest, but it was clean at least. I saw that they had some seating outside and decided to eat out there. My sandwich was a decent size and had a good amount of shrimp! I thought the sandwich was good, but imo it was a little over salted... Parking wasn't too much of a hassle but beware that their lot can get full in the summer due to the ice cream shop in the same strip. I've already posted a review but I have to do another. I love this place so much. It's honestly great that they have a separate vegan menu for my partner (I don't need it) but it makes it easier for them when they order. Love the hummus po boy. I crave it frequently because it's a monstrous sandwich and affordable. Love picking up from here because everyone is always nice and attentive. Small place in a strip mall. Very casual location. Advertising as vegan but not 100% vegan restaurant. The woman did assure me special steps were taken to prevent cross contamination with animal products and vegan items. I ordered a vegan po-boy and vegan channa chat. Both were good sized portions and tasted very good. It was difficult for me to stop eating so I could save 1/2 for leftovers. I was full but it tasted so yummy. The man who I believe was cooking came from the back to check on me during my meal which was a nice touch until he started begging for reviews. As someone who usually does leave reviews I had already planned to but it was off putting to be asked repeatedly. I would definitely feel awkward if this was always the way they do things. I'll definitely be back to try some other menu items and hopefully have a less awkward experience with the chef. read more

Huge vegan menu - they have plant based versions of nearly all their regular meat menu items. There are po-boys and burgers, some with a Midfle Eastern twist, and plant based deli sandwiches too. Plus hummus and many appetizers - I'll have to come back to try more. Got the vegetarian falafel po-boy. Went in first time, didn't know what to expect. Saw online they had a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Welcomed warmly immediately and while waiting for my to go order was pleasantly surprised with a cup of lentil soup. Very flavorable and aromatic, what a nice gesture to give this to a new customer while they wait. As I was enjoying my soup, I was approached again and asked if I would like a free sweet tea or iced coffee. Wow!! Talk about hospitality! The iced coffee was strong and very tasty. AGAIN, an unexpected and generous offering. The po-boy itself was a very big size with plenty of veggies and the falafel was not dry or oily and definitely flavorful. I asked and was given an extra side of their delicious boon sauce. Creamy and tasty! The cafe is in a tiny strip mall next to a cute ice cream place. Parking right up front.
