My 55+ scramble
Rene D.

We haven't been to a Denny's in quite awhile. Looking forward to using my AARP discount here woo hoo! Gotta take those perks when u can u know.. The waiter came promptly and asked for drinks and gave us a menu. I'm excited to have my 55+ scramble with pancakes and the works! Hubby is having lunch today ( egg allergy) Burbon chicken. Wow. It was all great. Service on point with drinks and checking on us and the food. I love when they melt the cheese on my eggs!! The bourbon chicken was great too. The vegis underneath were very yummy. Lots of zucchini. He had to take half home. So much food. We are very satisfied and going home full!

I will address two concerns I had first and then get to the good stuff. My only marks on negative side of the ledger may only apply to a few folks. The on street parking on MLK Way can be tough to find and there is lots of local traffic including Sound Transit street train. We got very lucky and found two spots just three businesses down. My second concern is the metal chairs used for dining are not a good fit for my 3x body, and can be uncomfortable rather quickly. Most regular folks will have no problems. All of the menu items which is why you come to Three Hearts were absolutely fabulous. We enjoyed some pastries, muffins, croissants and coffee before getting to our breakfast choices. The breakfast sandwiches, savory Dutch baby, quiche all received high marks. The service was friendly and quick even though they were busy and cook things fresh when you order. Check out their menu for the unique combinations of ingredients and variety of dishes. This is a place you really need to put on your bucket list!

I tried the savory egg sandwich which was good. I wish it had mire garlic aioli and pickled onions to give it a bolder flavor. The cruffins were my favorite! They're $6 each and I preferred the lemon curd one over the matcha one. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. Street parking can be challenging, so be prepared to walk a little.

We went around 8pm on a Friday because we wanted to grab a bite, a couple drinks, and check out their karaoke scene. We don't sing often (he NEVER sings, I do on occasion) but we love to watch others! Their setup here is pretty solid with a stage and lighting systems and everything! Plus a super large screen for everybody else to be able to read and sing along. Service here was awesome. Both staff members we encountered were super nice and we got all of our stuff quickly when ordered. They have a super solid lineup of drinks on tap and even some decent wines. My husband and I have learned that it's better for us to order one entree and one app, and we just split everything and we always end up decently full and don't waste much! We got an order of their mozzarella sticks and the Sandbar Burger (their take on a smash burger). Everything was delicious! We were pleasantly surprised by the burger - no frills, just simple and done well. I'm glad that we finally made it in and we'll definitely be back.

The place was very busy even at 9 pm but we found a lot of treats in the market and then headed over to the deli to order 3 pastries but the line was very long and we could not even see where to line up at the counter but noticed some others ordering from a kiosk so my son and I both ordered and paid on the kiosk and waited for our number to be called. There seemed to be no sense of order or numbers being called so we were confused after waiting 10 min. just for pastries to be taken out of the window and handed to us. But it was quite busy so we waited patiently. 15 minutes goes by and still no numbers being called so we were confused and noticed that others were standing in a line to one of the registers so I decided to just wait in line even though I waited in line already to use the kiosk and ordered & paid already. I waited about 6-7 min. in line and when we got up to the front I told the cashier that I was sorry, we did not know we had to order at the register but that we ordered and paid at the kiosk and gave her my number and my son's and she picked up our order receipts on her side of the counter and looked at them and told me that someone would help us in a few minutes and set the receipts down and took the next customer, so we assumed someone was going to work on our order. So we moved over in front of the pastries again and waited. And waited. While the girl I had just spoken to was taking orders from others in line and making and bagging/boxing their orders AS they ordered with her. Completely ignoring the fact that we had just waited in line again and had already paid for our orders and she chose to skip our order, not box them and took others orders after telling me that someone would be with us. She took several orders for about 15 more minutes and still no one helped us, so I went to stand in line again because now at this point it seemed purposeful and discriminatory as she took orders and fulfilled orders as soon as she took them and ignored us. We are not of European/Ukranian descent and did not speak the language but the customers she helped all did. So now, after being more than patient I was getting angry. We had been waiting for more than 40-45 minutes at this point. AFTER we had already ordered and PAID. I kept looking at her thinking she is going to pack our order but she kept working on others, but she made eye contact with me many times, knowing we were waiting. Finally when I was about to say something to another clerk she comes over and asks us if we wanted it packed together. Like we had not been made to wait for over 40 minutes till she acknowldged us. No apology, nothing. She packed our 3 pastries and we were not happy at all, especially after leaving a tip at the kiosk. I did not get her name but she was the only dark-haired/brunette behind the counter. The saving grace was the cashier at the front, a very friendly gentleman who saved our trip but not enough to want to come back to your market again. I understand being busy, I work in the food industry-but to have no direction, no sense of urgency, no customer service skills at all and to be made to feel like the bad service was purposeful, no thank you. We don't need to visit again. Which is sad because I love to learn about other cultures and enjoy their cuisine and the market was delightful and everything we purchased was delicious but we know when we are not welcome at an establishment so we will spend our money elsewhere. After posting this review I went and read how many others felt discriminated against as people of color(we are Asian), and see a theme here. If more than one customer has felt this way, obviously this is an issue that has not been addressed. Again, the cashier at the market was very friendly but your servers behind the cafe/deli counter need some training on customer service and discriminating practices. Such a shame for a business to allow this behavior to continue.

The service was a bit slow when we visited but it was kind of busy. The food we got was decent, nothing spectacular but certainly nothing to complain about. Just reasonably good breakfast fare that is better than most you'd find in the area. It won't be life changing but if you are nearby it is a good spot to hop into and get yourself a bite and coffee. While we sat we decided we would order, we couldn't find menus and kept waiting for a waiter, then someone finally told us ,after we asked , that we had to order in front! I ordered a BLT on a GF bread, I had to pay $2 more for gluten free! I expected a large sandwich for the price, like most the restaurants we've eaten at have been, but this sandwich was small, like a tiny one made at home! The bacon was burnt to a crisp and black, and the bread was super dry, the whole sandwich was dry and tasteless and a disappointment. When it came the side of pickle was missing and I had to ask for it. The only good part of my meal was the chips and my Italian soda! A huge waste of $18 + $$

Beyond what's listed on the menu board, they also have additional items like pasta and other dishes that aren't posted -- you just have to walk up to the counter. I overheard one of the employees mention that those items stop being served around 10 p.m., but they looked really good, especially the pasta. Honestly, I was a little overwhelmed at first because there are multiple menus and so many choices. I ended up keeping it simple and ordered a spicy Hawaiian pizza. It was good -- I wasn't a huge fan of the barbecue sauce as the base, but I did like that it actually had some heat. The jalapeños still had the seeds, which gave it a nice kick. I also grabbed a strawberry cupcake, which was delicious and a really good size for only $3. I didn't even get a photo because I scarfed it down immediately -- no regrets. My husband ordered a burger and fries, and he said it was good as well. Overall, the food was solid, and the pricing felt very fair for the portions. I would definitely come back again.

We were out celebrating my buddy's birthday today, and started out next door for some smokes and drinks. I had a plan for some choices for his bday dinner, and he opted with Ms. Jane's inside BJ's Casino. First off... this place is very elegant with a fine dining experience. Secondly, Cassandra was absolutely superb!! We all thoroughly had an amazing experience, from the drinks, appetizers, to our entrees, and the service. The Lavender Martini was top notch, and we also ordered the White Mojito. That mojito was crisp and refreshing! Two spectacular cocktails. As for our meals, undeniably unbelievable!! I ordered the 12oz. Ribeye, with Garlic Potatoes and crisp Broccolini. So crisp and a unique almost vinaigrette flavoring, with a subtle spice. As a side, we ordered the Thousand Layer Potato. My first time ever having this, but seen how it was made on a video. Simply divine. My wife ordered the Braised Bison over Polenta, with some Carrots. This is the tastiest Bison we've ever had!! We finished the evening with a Dubai Chocolate Fudge Sunday, and Cassandra gave us each a spoon to share in this decadence. Needless to say, my buddy had an incredible day of celebration! Turns out it's the former, at least in atmosphere. The service was genuinely lovely from start to finish. The host, server, and table assistants were warm and attentive. No notes there. We went with the ribeye prix fixe, which felt like the obvious call given that Ms. Jane's has built its reputation around it. The menu included a salad, two ribeyes with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and dessert for $150 plus wine. The salad was beautiful and delicious. It just could've used some cheese, and I will die on that hill. The mashed potatoes were legitimately outstanding and nearly redeemed the entire evening on their own. The broccoli was fine. Broccoli is always just fine. Then there were the ribeyes. They were enormous, beautifully presented, and unfortunately not much else. Both cuts had an excessive amount of fat and lacked the depth of flavor you'd expect from a restaurant that's staked its identity on this one dish. We make better steaks at home, which is not something you want to be thinking about after dropping $150 before wine. Dessert closed things out on a high note. A chocolate and vanilla mousse topped with genuinely delicate whipped cream. In the moment we told ourselves we'd come back and try something else. A few days of reflection later, that enthusiasm cooled but it didn't disappear entirely. The service was too good, the mashed potatoes too memorable, and the mousse too solid to write the place off completely. Ms. Jane's clearly has something going on. We just hope the ribeye isn't the thing they're most proud of.
