    The lobby before Hamilton!

So I visited for the first time with a kid and first time since the pandemic began and I was pleasantly surprised how excellently this experience went for our kid! The kids' menu is great: picking an entree and a side (or two!) went rather well as the kid could point to pictures of desired items. The crayons for colouring were brand name Crayola, and the kids' menu included milkshakes so my toddler had a very first milkshake too! The kid even ate pretty much everything ordered which is impressive for a toddler... so this Denny's comes toddler-approved! It even has high chairs and booster seats (though the kid used the high chair). Denny's is one of the only restaurants I know of that still offers a free birthday meal with ID, no email list sign up or loyalty program required, which was a huge reason why we visited at this point in the pandemic, as one of our group had a birthday to celebrate. And they implement it as either a free build your own grand slam or a discount that you can apply to any menu item which is great! I didn't know they did that! As for how it handled the pandemic, they were consistently applying the current restrictions and checking ID. We were happy to be seated far away from others in the restaurant and there were barriers in between booths. I could tell that a number of students were lingering there to study or otherwise and the server who was handling basically the whole restaurant (or at least the whole part that was in use) was doing his best to keep up. It wasn't super busy as we were there on a weekday evening but it wasn't slow either with a trickle of people coming in and out. All the patrons seemed to be abiding by masking rules very well though as were staff. Food service was a bit slow but the food (and milkshakes) really hit the spot. I was exceptionally impressed that the server dissuaded me from ordering an item because people frequently complain that it is too salty and steered me toward ordering something I really enjoyed. It really helped making our experience wonderful! I've visited this location on and off over the years with middling results but this experience definitely encourages me to come back more in the future: it really was a great family dining experience on this occasion and the pandemic is being handled well. Parking is ample (though it is a bit challenging to navigate the parking lot if unfamiliar), and there is great transit accessibility here.

Great Denny's location in downtown Edmonton, across from Grant MacEwan University. 24 hrs Friday and Saturday. Service was excellent!

The eggs were so uncooked and black unknown substance on the eggs

worst food I've ever had, the food was uncooked and honestly think a kid would be able to cook better eggs. NEVER COMING BACK!

Oh Dennys's I love coming to you for Sunday Brunch but you disappoint me this time :( Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday, after making a reservation the table for our group of 10 which was not ready (there were not additional seat or tables available so we had to cozy up), the beverages too very long and they were NEVER refill as our waitress was really busy on here area. We all order and it took 45min for the food to arrive! Not kidding. They did also forgot the order of the birthday girl!!! What?!!! Oh yes they did. Other 15min for wait for her food to have a very overcooked Salmon. Denny's you didn't even offer a 5% discount for the birthday girl on her special day. We would think twice before coming to celebrate another birthday here.

A decent bowl of spaghetti w/ garlic toast, a great serving of red skinned hash browns, along with a tasty Oreo milkshake to wash it down!

I just came here the other night to hang out with a friend for a nice, late night meal. Our server Joyce was a sweetheart and very attentive from start to finish. There was hardly any wait time for our meals, and they turned out to be pretty good! I must give credit to whoever whipped up my red skinned cubed hash browns: Denny's makes some of the best hash browns in Edmonton in my opinion! The Oreo milkshake I had as well was a great treat to tie it all off. Oh and PS: the people watching around here late at night can be quite the treat too. You'll see a lot of interesting characters come around this location to say the very least. If you're in the Grant MacEwan area and everywhere else is closed or doesn't appeal to you, look no further than right here!

Trying a new item on the menu- orange cream cheese pancakes with raisins, scrambled eggs, sausage.
    Maya D.

I wish I knew how huge the portion would be- what was I thinking. The pancakes were fluffy, the raisins were a great addition and so was the orange cream cheese frosting. I kinda wished the raisins were throughout and not only in the center. The scrambled eggs were sort of rubbery and dry, the sausages were good. I ordered breakfast tea thinking it would come in a pot just like the coffee my husband ordered. Instead, I was offered a Lipton teabag, a cup and a half worth of hot water, honey but I wasn't offered any milk or cream. It was a so so experience. The waitress was pleasant!

I jumped on the chance because I love the pizzas here. They have a soft doughy crust. So we ventured here for lunch. It wasn't too full, and it took a while for someone to notice and get us seated. We actually debated leaving, however finally they seated us, it was all good. (Hence why it looses a star). Atmosphere is pretty typical for a craft brewery. I am not a huge sports bar fan, and I was pleased to see that TVs were not a focus here. Menu is good. Lots of different things to try, but they are well known for their pizzas. Great selection of beers. Also an okay selection of cocktails and wine. I am on medication, so I tried a "near beer" can that they offered and I was pleased with the flavour. I wish they would have a non alcoholic that is more local on tap. Hubby because of driving went with a coke. We decided on two pizzas - PB & J which contained roasted pineapple, smoked bacon, fresh jalapeño, mozzarella, brick blend and the Animal Style -Ezzo pepperoni, seasoned beef, bacon, pizza sauce, crushed chilis, Grana Padano. Both came out hot and fresh and tasty. I enjoyed my toppings better, however my husband's pizza sauce was absolutely perfect. Service (once we were seated) was pleasant. We received some chocolate dipped strawberries as a customer appreciation gift and that was lovely. My goal is to try all the pizzas. Give it a go if you like Detroit style pizzas.

Edmonton is no different than anywhere else in the fact that our restaurantscape has been dotted with more and more local breweries - which is cool and all - but the part that has caught my attention is the elevation and refinement that has also evolved. Gone are the days when the average pub is slinging a beer in your general direction and calling it a day. Now there are chefs involved, complete dining programs, and entire concepts. It's more than just a boozy good time (but it's also still that). One of the standouts in this game is Campio Brewing Co., which first opened its doors in 2018 and have since expanded to a second location. In a previous life the original restaurant operated as Characters Fine Dining for twenty some years, which is why the space might feel familiar. (I remember dining at Characters in my 20s and believing that it was the height of luxury.) Voted Best Brewpub 2025 by EDify Magazine, Campio has positioned itself as a reliable standby when it comes to beers and eats Downtown, and they ain't slowing down anytime soon. I visited on a Monday evening, only half realizing that it was also an Oilers home game night. At only a seven minute walk away from Rogers Place, you can be sure that the place will be positively packed with jersey-wearing fans, the majority of which who are grabbing a bite before gametime. This was absolutely the case during my visit, and while it was crowded there's something about the buzz of a hockey night that feels pretty special. Peering through the sea of blue and orange in the main dining area, it was clear that tables were at a premium. I had no idea that there was additional seating downstairs but quickly learned as the hostess lead the way down the stairs. The basement appears to be the brewery itself, lined with fermentation tanks and wooden aging barrels. The picnic-style tables are communal. While it's not as nice as upstairs and certainly feels like an overflow area, it is kind of neat to be sitting where all of the brewery magic happens. (Think of when you try to go camping but the campground is already full, so they just stick you in a big empty field with the rest of the extras.) The main upstairs dining area is expansive, rich in wood, and feels historic. You'll find exposed brick and the same epic wooden pillars that exist in many of the old buildings downtown. But the best table in the entire restaurant? That would be the elevator shaft room - now converted into a small dining area. The elevator buttons are still on the wall! Our server was super personable and friendly, genuinely seeming like she was having a good time. Campio is obviously known for their 16 rotating craft beers on draft brewed right in the restaurant itself. They also sell their beer in cans (covered in beautiful artwork) which can be found in liquor stores everywhere, as well as offsale at the brewery itself. My husband is a big fan of their seasonal Once in Oaxaca (a prickly pear horchata sour). I, myself, am not much of a beer drinker so I was pleased to find a list of house cocktails to choose from - way more my jam. The Iced Edmonton Fog (Baileys, Cointreau, Amaretto, walnut bitters, earl grey tea - $14.50) sounded really delicious and fun. (They also make beer cocktails!) The flavour profile of this drink is right up my alley! The combination of almond, walnut and earl grey sounds cozy and delicious! However, I found that I wanted even more flavour from each sip. The beverage tasted quite watered down and could've been more full-bodied. It did remind me a lot of a paralyzer though, which I was not mad at. The main concept at Campio is to fuse Edmonton's blue-collar nature and artistic flair into one, serving up whimsy and quality with diverse offerings. I do think that this shows a clear understanding of the clientele in this city and it points toward Campio's success. The menu is fresh, playful, and approachable, offering the kind of food that people actually want to eat in a brewpub today. They've got Fried Pepperoni (With honey mustard - $9.00) on the snacks part of the menu and I'm not one to refuse! A Halifax stable, Edmonton and this Maritime city seem to have a lot in common when it comes to cuisine (RE: the donair). Sliced paper-thin, each ruby-hued round is crispy like a chip. You could easily toss about 20 of these into your mouth and barely notice. I liked the tangy honey mustard to dip into. This dish is like the best part of a pizza without all of the unnecessary rest of it. I'd happily start my meal with these every time! For the main event Campio offers two types of choices; you can opt for a handheld (I've had their Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich before and that tall stack is a good time!) or you can order a Detroit deep dish pizza (which I feel is kinda their "signature thing.") Detroit-style pizza really blew up arou
