We walked in on Canada day, where they should be prepared for a large crowd, we were seated promptly, there was 4 other tables beside us. we ordered off the menu after a few minutes of debating and the waitress took our order, we waited, i was starving, we continued waiting and waiting, for 35 minutes, I asked the waitress to check on the status of our meal and she said, I will go get your area waitress, the only was that, she was our waitress! I've always been a big fan of Denny's but this is the worst Denny's I've ever been to and the only reason that I continued to go here is because it's the closest location to me and they do seem to make an attempt to fix their mistakes. I don't think I've ever had a takeout order that was correct or good quality. Either something's forgotten, burnt or the quantity is way less than it is if you eat in mot where near worth the money. Even though they make an attempt to fix the mistakes there's only so many times that you can fix your mistake before it shouldn't require to be fixed order should just be correct. Last night was my last straw with them nothing was wrong with the order but I ordered spaghetti with extra sauce and there was barely any spaghetti in the container and the "extra sauce" I order barely covered it. I've been to this location once for brunch, and despite it being at peak brunch hours, we weren't kept waiting long. The service was fine, but the food was pretty bland. I love my breakfast staples (eggs, pancakes, waffles, etc) and I really don't need to be wowed to have a good time, but this felt like cheap imitations of those foods. It wasn't *bad*, but it wasn't *good*. Also, I'm really, really not a fan of paying at the front counter because it's exactly where people wait to be served, so when you go up to the counter, if there's nine people, you have to ask or try to figure out who's a group, who's waiting, who's paying, where's the line, is there a line? I told them I cant have peppers I'm deadly allergic I just wanted the nacho chips with the cheese and meat sause no pico no peppers (specifically said why) I got jalipinos and pico and sour cream which I'm also allergic to.. I didn't see it trusting they got it right I took a bite ... bad move.. I said I cant eat this ..throat already having a reaction ...they said theyd just get me a burger... uh I waited yet again .. was already there an hour for the 1st thing ..I did take allergy meds which I keep on me if I wasn't starving I woulda left.. burger came ..finally I almost fell asleep waiting..i said no pickles btw ,,, sigh ... and they charged me15 bux for it ... oh they gave me .50c off for trying to kill me ... :/ srsly Another few times before that*in a row they gave me the wrong bill 35 bux for 1 person just having pancakes um ,, no...and again and again... the meat wasnt cooked everything was stone cold coffee was gross and no refill the whole time I was there I haven't been back since sadly theres nothing else open and I need to go today ...wish me luck :( read more

It's Denny's. I'm not expecting The Keg.. oh wait! I just ate something that tasted better than what I've had at The Keg. I was there today with some work peps and I ordered the "Meat Lover's Omelet". Wow, very tasty and half the price! It looks like they've changed it too because I don't remember big chunks of steak in the omelet and this yummy sauce poured over it too. This was my first time being at this location since they finished the reno's and it does look better. Where do you go when you've had a little too much to drink and need food? Denny's of course. We were seated and served quickly enough and the appetizer we had we Pancake Bites or something. Good, but they are basically deep fried timbits. We waited a long time to get our food as other people who came in after us got their food much quicker. When it arrived it was cold. I don't know about you but when my friends and I go out to party until the bar close down we get very hungry. We usually need food to soak up the booze and at 3:00 in the morning that can be a challenge if you don't know where to go. The great thing about Denny's is that they are actually opened 24 hours a day! This is great for all the wasted people in Edmonton. But you need to tell your Designated Driver to get there before all the other DD's otherwise you will need to wait for a table. The other great thing about Denny's is you can order breakfast any time of the day, even for dinner if you want! I love that! The service is fast and friendly and the prices are pretty sweet considering the amount of food they bring out to you. You end up feeling like a pig for actually consuming most of the stuff they put in front of you. But it is all just so yummy that you can't stop packing it in. If you happen to be drunk we usually tell ourselves that all this food is required to soak up all that booze we consumed. Now if you are going to Denny's for breakfast then I suggest one of the following dishes: If you are too hungry for words and love the meat then order the Lumberjack Slam. If you like omelettes then order the Ultimate Omelette. The Fabulous French Toast Platter is mighty good if you like your French Toast. The Pancakes are famous here so defiantly try those. I like the Heartland Scramble (it comes with the country-fried potatoes... so good). If you want to order lunch then the Club Sandwich and the Chicken Sandwich is really good. If you are actually going there for dinner I can't help you out! I usually order breakfast for dinner when I got to Denny's just so I can feel like a rebel! read more

Let me start by saying that I am never one to complain but tonight's experience has to be told. My hubby and I arrived at the restaurant just before 6 pm, and where greeted by a woman who was nice and seated us with menus and took out drink order. At this time we where the forth table in the whole place (the one side of the restaurant was closed off). Not two minutes later a young male server came over and asked to take out drink order when the same female who sat us came over and said that she had our drink order and that this was her table and she would serve us. Awkward!!!!! The male server returned with our drinks and took our food order. Now the place was starting to fill up. Time pasted and table who came after us started to receive their food orders, we still waited patiently. At least 30 - 40 minutes had past and our food finally arrived, the milk gravy that was on top of my country fried steak was so cold it was like glue!!! The sautéed veggies where luke warm at best and the steak was very tough, the coating was very crunchy???? Our serve never came back to see how our meals where at to even offer coffee refills. We had to sit and wait for our bill to come... we where getting ready to leave and the manger Ross came to the table behind us and I overheard the customers complaining about the serve and the condition of their meals that where cold when delivered and he apologized that they only had two servers working and that he would fix the situation immediately. We waited at the front counter to pay our check. The manager came over and asked how things where and let him know how dissatisfied I was with the service as the food was horrible. His reaction was pretty much the same as what he told the couple sitting next to us, that they where very busy and that it was not the norm. He thought that he was being very gracious by giving us 20% off our bill. I know that when we went there that I was not looking for 5 star white glove service but service as paramount. Even if it is 4 am or brunch time, Denny's is the place to have all around meals. They have a wide selection and can tweak so your side orders to your liking.
