This is the worse Denny's I been to. After 15-20 minutes waiting for the waiter to come and greet us, I asked the host how much longer and she said she is not a waitress so she doesnt know how much longer but will ask. We were a group of 8 and it took them 1 hr and 15 minutes to serve us our food and their reason was that they had another large group. To top it off the food was cold. The lady's room had no toilet covers or toilet paper. We had to wait because they did not have change for a $100 bill. I will never stop by this place again!! read more

Poor poor service. Ordered drinks and all the wait staff decided to take break. Had to go get someone just to get our water we ordered. Food was ok just poor management I think. Also all available table were dirty so we had to wait while they went to find someone to clean them. The windows and doors class was filthy. My boyfriend & I stopped by to eat late night after driving all day. We were disappointed as soon as we walked in because it looked old & dirty. When we were seated the table was still wet from being wiped down & there were crumbs and a fly on the seat. The waitress didn't seem well trained. She was good about refilling drinks & brought the food quickly but asked if I wanted toast without explaining that I would be charged extra and didn't bring extra napkins for nachos (messy finger food). Avoid this Denny's as you would the plague! The place smells horrible and the service is worse. We tried to give them a second chance today. We won't do that again! We had to wait for a table because they don't know how to keep enough staff on the floor to serve at lunch time and the hostess was rude and did not inform our server of the order of her tables. This Denny's is always clean and welcoming. The wait times are reasonable, heavier during regular meal times, so we always go at odd hours. The food is always good, fast and we are always asked how we like our meal as soon as we start to eat. The staff typically have an awesome attitude, but every once In a while we get a negative Nancy of a waitress. The claw machine is always being filled with different types of prizes and keeps it interesting, even though I've only won once. The only real complaint I have is that our drinks aren't always re-filled quiet fast enough we always have to flag someone down and ask them after our cups have been empty for a while. Overall though this is a nice place for my little family to eat at every once in a while. read more

Solid Denny's here. Clean and nice location, lots of parking especially if you are a Truck driver or someone pulling a trailer. Large lot in the back. Food was quick and tasty. New pancakes are much better in every way, taste, texture and consistency. 11 bucks for a big breakfast and coffee is not cheap but this is worth it. TIP- if you ask for a to go coffee they have a nice cup to send you out with.. this is after you have had a couple of cups with breakfast. read more

Like many others, not a dennys person but after 3 hrs on the road, it was that or fast food. We wanted to get out of the car but we needed quick. Food was bland and tastless. The meal took over an hour... The 25 min it took for someone to take or order didn't help. 1 of the irders was wrong and had to be sent back... 20 min later we got our kids burger back- Seriously i think they're cooking with an easy bake oven the patty was smaller than a Reeses peanut butter cup. We ate quickly and got back on the road. Somehow we spent $50 on i don't know what . Anyways it will be a long while before I head back into a dennys. I was very pleasant surprised; usually we only eat @ a Denny's when there are not much options and we want to have 'safe, child friendly' place. The waitresses here were friendly, seemed to care and helpful. We had the haddock dish with wilted spinach and the fiesta corn. The spinach was fresh, the fish was good ( a big filet) and the corn was spicy because it had a fresh pepper cut into it. We asked for fries without salt, and we actually got them. Everything also seemed cleaner then usually. They even wiped the booster seat before bringing it. Anyway on the I5 definitely a good choice to eat. The only place around here at this large rest stop called Coalinga where I could find something VEGETARIAN. I know it is Denny's and really none of us in our right mind really expect anything great about this place right? The food was great. I had a red white and blue slam. That's the main reason they got 2 stars instead of one. Our server Sabrina served us quickly and nicely, but that's all she did. She did not check in with us even once besides taking our order, giving us our food, and handing me the check. I wasn't asked if I wanted more coffee. Exceptional service, Antonio our server was friendly and attentive but the entire staff and atmosphere was fantastic.

My family and I were driving to to LA and decided to stop for some food. We walked in thinking, "Oh yea we can have real food here." Oh boy were we wrong. We ordered fish, and it was over cooked and its texture was like leather and can't forget the over boiled, salty clam chowder. We got a cup of hot water and poured into the soup to make less salty, did not work, it was still extremely salty. Their staff seemed out of it and when my mother got a cut from the silverware and asked for more napkins, the girl never came back with more napkins, and can't even talk about how slow the service was. On the way from San Jose to San Diego, I began to panic when I could not find any place to on I5 South for forty miles or so. Out of nowhere, The Denny's sign appears. For a change, I shared my five year old's rapture at seeing the Denny's sign: my five year old has developed an obsession with this chain and will not eat anywhere else, largely due to their Mac'n Cheese and mashed potatoes and 24x7 service. We walked into Denny's and the wonderful lady smiled at us. We ordered coffee, Orange juice for the kid, salads, veggie burgers and kids Pizza (no Mac'n cheese this time). I asked the lady who served us for the items on the "Hobbit menu" and she understood immediately that I was interested in the Denny's "The Hobbit" collection cards. So, she gave me THREE sets of cards. I was on cloud nine. I managed to pick up Gollum, Gandhalf and some rougish looking dwarves. The food tasted like typical Denny's, which is very comforting if you have a child who refuses to eat if there is any deviation in the routine. I left elated and left a good tip, in eternal gratitude to the tall blonde lady with a heart of gold and with Hobbit cards by the pocketful. Thank you, thank you. Let me just preface this by saying that Karina was doing the best she could under the circumstances. She was taking orders, hosting and bussing tables. However, the assistant manager Tammy was useless and only succeeded in making me annoyed enough that I had to Yelp. She sat our trio only after I stepped in and announced that we had been waiting before a large group that walked in. She sat us at a table that was not set, didn't offer drinks, put the menus down and walked away. It took approximately 10 min our server was able to come to our table. After being told to bus tables, wrap silverware and expedite food. Our section was hurting and it was not our servers fault. The asst manager was unable to step away from whatever she was doing to help customers. I kept seeing her bark orders but did not see her stepping in to help out. Bad service reflects bad management. Bad management. We arrived around 2:30pm today. 1/2 of restaurant was closed. The other 1/2 was filthy. Every table (and I mean every table) was dirty. There were 5 tables with customers so the resturant was not busy. It took 10 minutes to get a seat. All of staff and manager were sitting in the closed area talking. One waitress was helping everyone. We had to go get someone to take our order and drinks. The manager should be terminated. Worse Denny's I've been to. Dirty. Lousy service and poor poor management. This place has gone down hill. Very poor service. Took 50 minutes to get the orders, which were cold. The restaurant was not crowded. We noticed that the waitress kept giving incomplete orders to several tables. Not sure why the food was cold. Probably the fault of the waitress or maybe a combo special, the fault of her and kitchen staff and no food runners. We tipped the waitress, but she did not deserve it. Several recent yelp reviewers seem to have mentioned cold food and poor service. I recommend Harris Ranch. read more
