Two road trips back to back, and have stopped at this McDonald's on both occasions. On both occasions, we went through the drive-thru, then were advised to wait at one of the numbered spots. The first time, it was midday and busy. We waited over 30 minutes for our order. Eventually, I went in and asked for a refund because 30 minutes is too long to wait for a drive-thru order from a "fast food" establishment. Today, there was literally no one in the drive-thru line, so we figured it would be okay since it's the only place to stop. Also, I hopped out of the car to run inside to use the restroom and there was hardly anyone inside either. Well, we were wrong. Same story. Went through the drive-thru and were told to wait at spot number 1 for our order. After 10 minutes, and after 2 other cars parked next to us got their orders and left, we figured we should go ask for an update on our order. They claimed they had already given us our order already, which was curious since we didn't have it. They gave our order to another car parked in a different numbered spot. They didn't apologize at any point for the mistake. We asked for a refund and left. It's really unfortunate because McDonald's breakfast might be the only fast food indulgence I'll allow myself while on a roadtrip.Their fresh hot hashbrown are my favorite but after experiences like this, it's highly unlikely I'll return. read more

We stopped at the McDonald's in Coalinga, CA and ordered through the app. I'll give credit where it's due -- the app was easy to use and made ordering simple. That part worked smoothly. Our food actually came out pretty decent. It was hot, tasted fresh, and was put together better than I expected considering how busy it was. The kitchen seemed to be holding it together. But the front of the store? That was rough. The dining area looked like it had been hit by a hurricane. Tables weren't cleaned, trash was building up, and the straw/soda station was sticky and messy. There were a lot of people standing around trying to order. The manager was loudly telling customers they wouldn't be served for a while and should just use the kiosks. That didn't exactly calm the crowd. There was confusion, frustration, and a pretty tense atmosphere overall. Bottom line -- good food and an easy app experience, but the front-of-house operations and cleanliness need serious attention. I ordered a Deluxe McCrispy, fries, a Diet Dr Pepper, and a strawberry & cream pie. Somehow, the only thing that showed up alive and well was the soda. Let's start with the fries. These were cold, soggy, and tasted like they'd been emotionally abandoned hours ago. Not "just came out late," but "forgotten under a heat lamp during a shift change" vibes. The McCrispy... whew. The chicken was burnt, bone-dry, and so tough that taking a bite felt like I was testing my jaw strength. You couldn't bite and pull away--this thing clung on like it had unfinished business. Also had a weird flavor that made me immediately question my life choices. Walking in didn't help. Staff was playing music off a phone or little speaker, which felt less "restaurant atmosphere" and more "we closed already but forgot to lock the door." Shoutout to the employee who helped us though--nice guy, tattoos on his arms and neck, genuinely pleasant. He gave me a strawberry & cream pie because the apple pie would've taken 12 minutes (which... fair). Unfortunately, that pie had a sticky, chewy filling that tasted like strawberry taffy mixed with regret. The texture alone deserves its own warning label. In the end, the Diet Dr Pepper was flawless. Crisp. Cold. Reliable. Honestly the MVP of the meal. Everything else? A reminder that sometimes you go to McDonald's for food, and sometimes you leave with a story. I was in the area near the town of Coalinga and dropped in on an early Saturday morning. It was an odd experience that ended up with not receiving the correct items and me preempting a stranger from taking my order. First of all, like all McDs, this one is no exception that they prefer the customers to order and pay using the self help kiosk. I begrudgingly used the kiosk. I ordered two combo breakfasts but Instead of a McMuffin breakfast combo which I paid for and was printed on the order which was taped to the bag; I got the breakfast burritos combo instead. Plus it's easy for folks to swipe your order. The staff shouts out the order number and leave the bag on the counter; and walk away. They don't check receipts. One fella grabbed my bag and I had to grab it back from him. Never mind the pickup ordering monitor's screen showed only one number at the moment, and it matched my receipt. He had no receipt. I'm not digging the self policing. Plus the dining room oddly already had a multitude of dirty table tops for being 9:30am. Possibly they were short staffed. read more

This was the worst mcdonalds I believe I've ever visited. It was dirty, the kiosk was incredibly slow, and the employees took way too long to even acknowledge there being a customer at the counter, not to mention the attitude they gave after finally pausing to see what the problem was. The food wasn't great either, my hashbrowns tasted burnt and I heard other customers complaining about their food as well, perhaps the oils need to be changed. The tables were all dirty and nobody was cleaning the entire time we were there. There were so many flies, it was disgusting. I've never had a foamy smoothie either, not sure why it came out like that. If I ever decide to stop by here again, it would be because all the other food options nearby are closed and I can't wait the 35 minutes to the next food stop. They wouldn't fix their receipt printers either so we can't even leave a bad review with the QR code, because there's a big white strip down the middle of it. read more

Food was piping hot and decision here and service was quick. The main reason for the low rating is the cleanliness of the restaurant. There was a mop in the middle of the dining room and the tables were filthy. The restrooms were semi-clean but in need of maintenance. There was a stall out in the women's restroom and the toilet seat covers were not stocked. read more

When I approached the counter and explained that I had been waiting outside for 30 minutes for a curbside order, I expected at least an apology or some urgency in resolving the issue. Instead, the employee I spoke to immediately shifted the blame onto me, suggesting that I must have done something wrong when checking in or that I hadn't parked in the right spot. This response was both confusing and frustrating. I had followed the exact instructions provided in the app, parked in the clearly marked curbside space, and confirmed my arrival properly. Rather than taking responsibility or even attempting to investigate what went wrong, the employee's reaction made it feel like I was at fault for their mistake. There was no accountability, no effort to de-escalate the situation, and no sense of customer service whatsoever. Eventually, I did receive my food, but by that point the entire experience had already been ruined. The purpose of curbside pickup is convenience and efficiency, and this experience was the complete opposite. Waiting 30 minutes without any communication, only to be blamed when I tried to resolve the issue, reflects very poorly on the level of service at this location. And just when I thought the situation couldn't get any worse, the cherry on top was discovering that my order wasn't even complete. After finally getting my food and leaving, I realized they had forgotten one of the burgers entirely, along with all of the sauces that were supposed to come with the meal. After everything else--the excessive wait, the lack of communication, and being blamed for their mistake--this final oversight just added to the overall disappointment. I stopped here hoping to grab a bite to eat. However, after using the restroom I changed my mind. It literally looks like something blew up in there. I've never seen the public restroom so dirty! They have a toilet leaking; and the trash cans are literally overflowing. I cannot describe how disgustingly dirty this bathroom is! This poor place.... they need to hire more people and make sure that people who work here actually communicate with each other. So you walk in and they want you to order through the kiosk only. I want to pay cash and get a sausage patty for my dog and you cant order that through the kiosk. So I literally stand in front of the registers from 8-10 minutes before someone came up. Ordered my meal and it took close to 30 minutes. They were getting pretty busy, I came at just the right time. The guy was going to give me a second drink and I said no I already got it. But I bet a lot of people wouldnt have been honest and took it. They dont seem to communicate with each other. I was surprised that a sausage patty costs $2.89, but a meat/hamburger patty is $1.59. I only came here because a member of my party needed a snack. He asked me to order something for him. When I looked at the kiosk and available offers they were slightly higher than other locations, and the entire restaurant was full of flies, which grossed me out. Even going to the car to eat was not that good because there were flies in the parking lot and they got into the car. I ordered something containing double patties for a member of my party. When he opened it to eat it in the car, they had only given us one party despite the receipt clearly stating it was a double, which means we overpaid for this and there was no time to rectify it. The receipt didn't offer buy one get one free offers unlike in Lake Forest, which made going here an unnecessary expense, both financial and mental, from my perspective even though it was not my decision to go here. Since I'm likely never going back here I see no reason to be polite with the numerical rating, though I would say that it is only in comparison to all of the other McDonald's with better prices, offers, cleanliness, and restrooms. I'm usually a nice reviewer and give the benefit of doubt on things. Let me get started. This is usually a popular pit stop for food as well as Harris ranch next door. Walked into MCd's and I TRIED greeting the cashier and she didn't say anything back. So i repeated myself once more and she replied "good." Poor attitude, poor customer service and she looked very miserable. These are the kids you don't want working at your establishment. The restaurant was no well kept as the tables were majority not bussed. The bathroom were dirty and there was no toilet paper. I Ordered some nuggets , and a fish filet meal. Fish was old and hard and so was the bun trash it went. They ran out of ice coffee, ice tea, and lemonade. Very pathetic circus going on in there. This place needs a good check up by corporate. This McDonald's is located off the Interstate 5 freeway. Normally, I do not stop here because it is at the same exit as Harris Ranch. Recently, though, we were traveling back from the Bay Area with my parents. My Mom was craving some McDonald's fries. Being the good son, I drove here after stopping by Harris Ranch first. Used the drive-thru to place our order. Surprisingly, they asked me to pull up at one of the drive thru parking spaces because our order of French fries was not ready. After 10 minutes of waiting,I walked into the restaurant. They were very busy, but the folks were receiving and eating their fries. Looks like they forgot to bring our order of fries out to us. Very disappointing!! Hopefully, this will be the last time we stop into this McDonald's. Harris Ranch is a much better option. read more

I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to roadside fast food, but this place was so disgusting during my visit on 8/7/2023 that I couldn't let it slide. Upon arrival, the front door was blocked off with cones and signs directing everyone to the rear door. The trash bin outside was overflowing with garbage and the parking lot and walkways were strewn with trash and random stains. Inside, the first thing I noticed was that the floors were sticky with dried ...something, and there was a lot of trash and food left on the floors. The beverage station was also filthy- lids, paper, straws were everywhere and the floor was sticky with old product. There was a moldy musty smell coming from the machines, so I shudder to think how long it has been since the machine was cleaned. Then I noticed the flies. Flies were EVERYWHERE in the lobby. When I sat down to a table, several landed on my leg, arms and even hair. I swatted them out of the way to no avail, and moving tables did not help. My partner and I attempted to eat at a table but the flies kept landing on our food and it was so gross that we lost our appetites. We also noticed at least 4 families eating in the parking lot inside their cars instead of indoors, and I can only imagine that it was because of the flies. We asked an employee what was causing the fly infestation and he casually mentioned that it was because there was a farm nearby. Bro. Like, I understand being in the country comes with more wildlife but I'm pretty sure the spilled soda and garbage everywhere had way more to do with the obscene amount of them in the dining room of a restaurant than a nearby farm. After we challenged his assessment of the situation, he mentioned that he could spray again to take care of them. Unfortunately he decided to do this while a family with 3-4 children was eating nearby. The mother of the group was understandably furious that her and her children's food were now underneath a cloud of Raid, so she had some choice words for the employees before packing up, throwing out their contaminated food, and leaving. I can't in good faith recommend stopping here, let alone trusting any of the food (especially the beverages) coming out of here. Run. read more

Terrible customer service. We were in the drive-through, and I forgot to order orange juice for my son. When we were at the window to get our food, I asked if we could add orange juice, and the food clerk said: "Sorry, you can't add it because we have a long line." And then she had us wait at the parking area for our burger. Might as well add the orange juice since she will make us stay at the parking lot. So my husband went inside and fell in line just for the orange juice. While inside our car, I checked our bag. They forgot the catsup. How can you eat French fries without catsup?! We walked in, and they were ants and flies. We went to order and they removed the grilled chicken as well as the Reesie McFlurry. Before us had an overcooked chicken sandwich with no sauce. When our order came out, the fish fillet was way overcooked or spoiled and tasted terrible. The ice machine on the Coke machine was not working. Neither was the gas so the soda is flat. My sister and I stopped here on the way home for something to eat, terrible service!! The staff seemed like they were more worried about drive through and taking online orders than they were about customers waiting in line to order the food. When we were finally able to order our food through the machine, because we were still not being served in the regular line. When we finally got our food, the food was just shoved in a bag. The Deluxe Chicken Sandwich I ordered was just thrown in the box and not even put together semi on the bun. The inside of this place was not cleaned up or kept up very well.
