Went here because norms was closed. Waited for Tony to come back to our table for a good 5 mins. We wanted appetizers but he took so long that we basically had everything we wanted to order and drinks ready. I looked around to find him and saw him just standing around by the POS machine. I wanted nachos but I wanted fries instead of chips, he told me that because hes never had anyone order that, he wasn't sure if they good do that. I asked him to ask the cooks if it was possible, he told me that he didn't think they good do it... Again I asked him if he could just go ask. He was overall very unprofessional and rude. We asked him to wait to put in any of the orders while he asks about the nachos. We ended up just leaving and going to another dennys that didn't have to ask about the nachos with fries instead if chips. Personally, I feel Tony should honestly work the slowest hours since he obviously gets overwhelmed with "complicated" orders and a busy restaurant. Sat around forever waiting for a the waitress to take our orders. It was us and two other tables The food came fine, but we were then ignored for the rest of the time spent there. The first and last time I ever go to this dennys. It has to be the worst one in existence. I went with my friend and we waited about 15 mins to get their lovely tap water. Ten minutes go by and we tell the terrible waitress that we are ready to order. She was only running another 2 tables at the time since it wasn't that busy but she took 20 more minutes to get back to us to finally order and if we hadn't reminded her that we were ready I think we would still be waiting for our food and it's been a month since I've been there. This morning we pulled into Norm's but it was crowded and the prices were high. So we went across the street to Denny's. We didn't have to wait for a seat. We were courteously seated by the hostess. Then the waitress came right away and asked us what we would like to drink and if we were ready to order. After we ordered she brought our coffee and water right away. Our food came rather quickly also. Only two minor problems were noticed regard First, a topping was left off of my french toast. (I realized this later or I would have asked for it). Secondly, my grits were bland (but I am not supposed to eat much salt anyway :-). The major problem was that the bathroom was not clean. There was urine on the toilet seat, not uncommon in a men's restroom. Someone, however, had purposely left excrement on the sink counter. I removed the excrement with toilet paper and put the toilet seat up. There was a sign that read: " If you find the restroom unclean please contact any staff." I should have contacted staff about these sanitation problems but I didn't . Over all I had a good experience at this Denny's Restaurant. When I come back to Claremont I wouldn't mind eating at Denny's. I just hope the bathrooms will be cleaner next time. read more

First time at dennys...Walked in here with a party of 6...the whole was empty. About 4 other tables with no more than 3 people at each.. Was seated and the girl walked into the kitchen without a word... Waited for 15mins.. Saw every single girl waitress walk back and forth and completely ignore my table.. Wasnt till i called someone over that i got my order taken... Order took 15 more mins.. And my smallest childs order ... Simple burger.. Just buns.. And patty. Took the longest of them all...the manager was also here walking around and never even bothered to ask about the service.. last night, my family decided to eat at this location ONLY because I was too tired to cook after getting off work. unfortunately at my fault, I have been there 3 times... all 3 times I have walked out p***ed off. The first experience we sat there for over 20 minutes to just get our drinks then the waitress goes to the back to socialize and we never saw her again. So, after another 30 minute wait, I walked out and my husband went and asked for the check and paid for the drinks. The second experience we got our food and drinks, but once again no waitress to give us refills or the check. Then, there was last night.... we asked for our desert to come to us later after we ate, and she sends it out with our dinners. after she gave us our food, she ignored our table the rest of our dinner, and gave us our first refills with the check once we decided to get up to go look for our check.... she also had the audacity to put a "thanks" next to the tip part on the check. I tipped nothing by the way. Then, I waited almost 10 minutes to pay... a line of upset people were waiting as well. Once the manager finally came, he was rude and gave me attitude when I left no tip. Whatever, I'm never going back there. I have a lot to say about this Denny's. I went with my family and when we walked in, the hostess did not smile and did not welcome us in at all or give a smile, very disrespectful. When we sat down, we all noticed that the table was not wiped down, as were the other tables. Very disturbing, especially if you are paying to eat there. Utensils from the last customer, which must have been hours ago when they came I assume, where left on the table and they did not care enough to check. The server came in and he was nice, but awkward, which I do not blame him for personally. He has so much potential to be something great, but the environment and the manager completely ruins his chances of that in my opinion. He did not say hope you enjoy or I'll be right with you and gave very minimal eye contact. But when we needed him, he was there, which I applaud him for. As for the appetizers, we got salads. Good size, but a crouton dropped, the server just stared at it and gave my sister the salad without looking at her or apologizing. When the only other people that came left, instead of doing their job and cleaning while collecting the check and money, they just simply grabbed the check, looked at how much tips they received with the check and left. Keep in mind that there were two people that went for it and not one of them cleaned up, one of the people being the manager herself. As for her, she was TERRIBLE, I felt bad for the employees. She did not instruct them at all, they must learn from her. I did not get her name, but she sat down on her behind the whole time and ate while chatting with people that are supposed to be doing their job. Only time she bothered getting up was to get the money. The walls that separated the booths were not wiped, leaving fingerprints and syrup wiped everywhere, the last customers must have had children. The food we ordered was pretty good, which is why I give my review two stars. The only downside from the food was that I ordered toast and did not get it, but that's honestly fine because I can do without it. However, the employees did not do their jobs right and need to be replaced, especially for the manager, which is sad to say. Usually I try to look for the bright side in every establishment, but this one I absolutely cannot, in any circumstance, tolerate. When we left, the hostess, once again, did not smile and did not even bother thanking us for coming or to have a nice day, which most people should be taught, especially in a restaurant. And finally, the floor had a slippery when wet sign, and you would think that it was really wet. I would think that too. But nope, there was syrup on the floor somehow. I mean, you pay right there and your food should be in a bag, so how did it get sticky? Worst of all is that they should have been responsible enough to actually clean it right away, not put a sign up saying the floor is slippery. We had Jackie as our waiter and she was phenomenal! It was a super busy morning (Valentine's day) but she came by my table at the perfect times to ensure I had everything I needed. Both times I've been here they have messed up and now I have learned my lesson. SLOWEST SERVICE EVER! Holy shizzzznits! People that arrived after me had gotten their food and drinks. Wow, I am completely shocked on how crappy the service was at this Denny's. Our group of 6 adults and 2 kids arrived at approximately 11:30 pm on Friday night 6/1/16. We were seated pretty quickly but from that point on it was all down hill. It took almost 20 min to get our drinks, and a little long to have our order taken. None of the orders were difficult, 2 kids pizza, BLT, lumber jack, hamburgers, fries and 1 salad. My salad came 25 min later, along with my salad was a nice long hair. The kids finally got their pizza which were both raw and side grapes were frozen.....needless to say at 12:55am on 6/2/16 we still hadn't received our food. Not even a refill on our drinks. The waitress was rude, along with the elderly waitress that was also working. After waiting for about a hour and a half we decided to get up and leave..this was the worst service I've ever received or should I say not receive seeing that we never got our food. What's bad is this is my second time visiting this establishment. The first time wasn't any better but I thought what the hell it has to be better cuz it sure can't get any worse. Boy was I wrong. I am forced to give at least one star, otherwise I would give 0! Went to have lunch with a coworker and was excited to have a nice sit down lunch. We were seated right away by a man who seemed to be one of the managers on duty. He was very polite. We waited and waited! A waitress finally was headed our way and went to the table behind us who got there about 10 minutes after us! She then came to our table to take our drinks orders. We already knew what we wanted so I asked if she could take our food order, especially being limited to a 1 hour lunch! She had the audacity to say I will be back I have to put their order in first! !!! Whatever I let it go and at this point we were about 25 minutes in to our lunch. We waited about another 10 minutes for her to come back for our food order! So the time came to 1255 and no food yet! We had to be back at work by 110. At the point we just got up and headed to pay for our drinks. When we got up, our waitress was on her way with our food. She said "your food is ready!" I called to cancel a to-go order and the guys on the phone "Milton" who claimed to be the manager said he could not cancel my order and *he thinks* I have to cancel in online. When i check online, it said to call the store to cancel. So either "Milton" the "manager" is incompetent about the rules of his restaurant or is flat out lazy and trying to get out of work. This place also say they do not take to-go orders over the phone. Could just be a horrible worker "Milton" but if he is a manager, then i doubt it's only him. The tables didn't have any regular sugar and when we asked for more, we got maybe five packets. Horribly understaffed, it seemed like there were only two servers. One lady from another table even stood up and asked them for coffee in a very angry tone (this lady and her party were seated before us, and we'd begun to receive our appetizers. Then she and her party just left). My sister got a chicken noodle soup which looked like a murky yellow bowl of piss with chicken cubes. But before she could taste it, her knife wasn't cleaned properly and had very visible food particles in it. My coffee cup had lipstick still on it as well. I ordered the Santa fe skillet and it wasn't by any means horrible, but it was underseasoned and didn't really taste memorable. My sister's pot roast though, absolutely disgusting. The meat was lukewarm and it tasted beyond disgusting. She said her food tasted weird and asked me to eat it. I managed to get the rancid meat down but when I tried the "garlic bread" it was just inedible. I couldn't bring myself to swallow it because it was just burnt garlic over mushy bread. I've eaten some gnarly things in my day, but I haven't had to spit out my food in years. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm, had no seasoning, and tasted like microwave mashed potatoes. Coffee was good, Equal sweetener was nice. The servers were struggling to keep up with the amount of people so we didn't give either of them a hard time. My girlfriends double cheeseburger was mediocre; the meat didn't taste great and the fries were bland. Go to another place. Denny's is a last resort kind of place, like after a night of debauchery and bar hopping. Not a good place. Go to McDonald's across the street or Norms. read more
