I used to work there but was wrongfully terminated for being black. I was lied on and called a thief. With the amount of discrimination I endured I felt like I was working in the South and this was the 1960's or something. I was constantly singled out and made to feel like I was less than the other co-workers. Although, I worked and tried my hardest and gave my very best, and I always took my work serious because I enjoyed serving my guest... The Guests were my only good reason I kept working at Dennys and did not quit, it was the guests that made me feel adequate, made me feel equal, and made me feel my hard work meant something to them,most importantly they did not shame me or stereotype me because of the color of my skin. My first disappointment at this Dennys. I love Denny's French toast. However, tonight I simply wanted three (full slices) pieces of French toast and two slices of bacon. Everything was fine until I got the bill. $4.49 for each of the three slices of French toast. Three slices of French toast, two slices of bacon, and one Diet Coke cost me $20 and change. I can't afford Denny's anymore. The woman behind the counter at 4 AM on May 8, 2022 was incredibly unhelpful. I had been here several weeks ago and had their French toast. I know that I did not pay the same amount of money. I ate 4 slices of French toast that night. Anyway, I asked to see the price of the French toast somewhere in writing besides the receipt. She could not produce any printed material with the 4.49 price on it. Searching online showed me two different sources showing $2.49 for each additional slice. We don't come here often. The food is pretty basic. We came today because of a coupon. We ordered the spicy skillet and a chicken-fried steak (dinner version). The skillet was surprisingly tasty, and the chicken-fried steak was their usual chicken-fried steak. The whole grain rice was nothing special (the server said it would be similar to pilaf, but it wasn't). Overall, for the price paid, it was a reasonable meal. I can't stand their "grand slam" breakfasts, but their skillets can be tasty, their burgers are fine, and the chicken-fried steak is pretty good. You generally know what you are going to get here. I came in and it was like a normal Denny's night, except for there was this male waiter that was talking very loud with other customers about having sexual relationships with another man while I was eating dinner then he proceeded to check me out. Mind you this is not my waitress. I did not give her a tip on my card as I was going to get cash out of my car because I can give her a lot more cash than I could on my card, and he proceeded to tell my waitress that I did not give her a tip and I looked at him and he said to me that he was just joking and as I turn my heel to walk out the door, he proceeded to call me rude because I gave her a zero dollar tip so that means I'm not giving my way just a tip and I will never ever come back here because I am disgusted about the conversation that I heard my way to talking about while I was eating my food. read more

Prologue: My fiancée and I had another long day of running errands, which resulted in us missing breakfast and lunch again and looking for a place to for some comfort food in the early afternoon. My fiancée was somewhat unfamiliar with this franchise, which happened to be located very close to our last appointment, and so we decided to give it a try. The Plot: We began by sharing a half order of Zest Nachos, which was followed by two entrees, including a Loaded Veggie Omelette (with grilled chicken added) and a Slamburger (with a side of fries). The Scene: The portion sizes were more than enough for the both of us to leave very satisfied. The Zesty Nachos were plenty for the both of us even though we ordered a half portion. All of the ingredients were light and fresh, all of which were topped with a generous scoop of sour cream. The thin, crispy tortilla chips that were cooked to order definitely made a nice difference. The burger I ordered was properly cooked with good flavor and was topped with everything you could want on a breakfast burger, including hash browns and some Pepper Jack Queso that reminded me of hollandaise sauce. The fries were an interesting cross between steak fries and cottage fries; nice and big and also crispy. My fiancée absolutely loved the omelette she ordered, which is high praise. It was prepared with at least three and was packed full of fresh veggies. The Rest of the Story: My fiancée and I agree that this location had a cozier look and feel compared to a couple other similar franchises we've visited. My mom and I were going to give up on Denny's after we had a couple of awful experiences with the Denny's in our neighborhood... Awful service and bad food to boot. Even the coffee was bad. But we were driving home and almost passed this one and decided to give it a shot. (This is the Chandler Blvd and Dobson one that we stopped at) We were grated by Serena our server and immediately seated and asked if we wanted something to drink. We weren't quite ready so she said she'd come back. When she came returned we started talking a bit. She has such a bubbly personality and a beautiful smile, so unlike our experience from the other Denny's! She's an amazing server! When our food came it wasn't cold (like the other place) and it was delicious! We both got the chicken fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn. It was amazing! I wish I knew how they made the corn! Omg! So good. The chicken fried steak was great. Cooked just right, not dry but moist and tender. Such good flavor! The mashed potatoes and gravy also good! Mmmm red potatoes with skins on. Awesome job to Julio and Ana the cooks! Both Serena and the other sever Sarah are very hard workers and checked their tables often. I noticed how hard they work and that they seemed to always have a smile, even when Sarah had a rude customer who had a tantrum, she kept going. Good for her! After we were done and totally stuffed Serena asked if we wanted to have drinks to go. So nice of her to ask but I couldn't put anything else in my mouth lol! We meet Landra the manager at the front and asked her for everyone's name so I could write a review about our awesome time there. We didn't know she was the manager until she told us lol! We let her know that we were so glad we decided to try their Denny's and the humongous difference between the two locations. We also told them all that we would definitely be back! Came in here today with a group of friends and it was meh. Our food was great and came out of the kitchen pretty quickly but our waitress and service really wasn't the best. We were seated quickly as well and she took our orders fast but really never checked up on us. Once we received all of our food, she asked us how it was and that was it. After that, she didn't even ask us if we were ready for our checks and needed boxes, but just set the check down and walked away. We needed boxes and the check split up so we remained seated after she dropped the check off and didn't even ask us if everything was correct. We ended up having to go ask the hostess to split it up and give us boxes. The hostess was very nice and was happy to help. Overall, it was a pretty decent experience but the service was lacking from our waitress. read more

My mother, brother and I ate at this location on Sunday January 12, 2020. The windows in the entry doors were not clean. There was a "wet floor" pylon in the middle of the antechamber.The floors were not wet. From the moment we arrived we heard rap music playing in the kitchen area which was competing with the regular background music that normally plays. The waitress was nice and the food was good, but it was very odd that no one working at this restraunt was willing to step up and take charge - TURN OFF THAT PROFANITY coming from your kitchen. Yes, it was not public radio edited, there were all sorts of words that you don't ever hear in a public establishment - A DENNY'S. Luckily our mom is elderly and did not notice. The person (MORON) that should have been managing your store should be let go to find another job which they can be successful at. But, working in the public is not a good fit. We were in this Denny's from approximately 3:30 PM and 4:40 PM. It was not busy the whole time we were there. When we left the "wet floor" pylon was stil sitting in the middle of the dry antechamber and the entry door window still had numerous icky fingerprints and smudges. GROSS. Went into our Dennys location to be served by one of our favorite servers (miss Lori) in the valley just to find out that after several years she is no longer working there. Her hospitality made the experience better each time we were in. The food was okay. Although I asked for scrambled eggs and they were cold. Very disappointed. Made an online order and went to pick it up on Monday June 5, 2023 around 7:30pm and come to find out after talking with the employee, he explained that they gave my order away to some random person earlier. We arrived around 5 am expecting be able to peacefully to our homework and studies while possibly getting a bite to eat. We wanted to go to the back corner to get peace and away from the distractions but as we step a few steps past an angry server miserable with his life, I hear a screech coming from mr working for his pay but can't give some simple respect like saying please the front instead he yells at us stating "I've worked 12 hours," while laughing with some guest which it was only a few extra steps but whatever he then proceeds to try and fake it and act like he didn't rudely scream at us making us want to leave immediately and very uncomfortable additionally making us unable to do any work like we planned and wanted, sir we've been up maybe as long or longer having a day ourself do not proceed to be fake and not give an apology. That's not even it we ordered and he doesn't he even and tries to make small talk to recover for his actions. Yet again messes up and never brings us any silverware and proceeds to act like we're not there and not acknowledge us once so ever. I'm giving this experience a big fat 0 STARS! I went around 3am and had the worst experience and I usually come to this location. I ordered my food and it tastes great UNTIL I noticed the silverware that I had been using was DIRTY! I mean it was flighty! It still had food on it from the previous meal. Jennifer even brought out plates that were dirty! Is she not paying attention....like seriously! I noticed something hard on my fork that made me unwrap the rest of my silverware and sure enough my SPOON still had what looked like chocolate dried up on it! Run as fast as you can back out the door if she is your waitress. She needs to be let go. When she replaced my silverware she had the audacity to ask ME to check if they are ok. "No you check to see if they are ok before you give them to your customers" WTF. She was the only waitress there and it wasn't busy but she was yelling across the room at other customers asking them if they are ok or need anything else! The nastiest waitress I have ever met! We just got home from eating at your location at 1750 W Chandler Blvd., Chandler AZ When we got there, we were seated at a table right in the pathway of the kitchen and incoming guests. I asked if we could have a booth and the hostess looked at a dirty booth and said we'd have to wait, so we sat at the table instead. The waitress, KarenW, came to our table a few minutes later to ask if we wanted coffee. She returned with 2 cups of coffee and 5 creamers. One of the creamers was sticky and rather gross A few minutes after that, she returned to take our order. My husband ordered a Santa Fe Skillet - NO MUSHROOMS. I ordered a Grand Slam Slugger. The entire time we were placing the order, Karen W seemed annoyed and disengaged, like we were intruding on her. She asked if I wanted orange juice. Initially I said no, but then I realized it came with the order. I said "This comes with orange juice AND coffee?" she rolled her eyes and said yes. When we got our order, it was brought to the table by a man, not our waitress, who was fumbling around looking annoyed. My husband's Santa Fe Skillet was LOADED with mushrooms, when he clearly told her no mushrooms. My Grand Slam Slugger - the potatoes were over cooked and almost burnt. There were some grey lumps in the potatoes, along with something that looked like bits of mushroom? What this tells me is, in addition to over cooking the hash browns, your cook used a dirty grill. Also, the pancakes were ice cold. The butter was not even melting between the 2 pancakes. We were just about ready to leave when the waitress finally came back and asked if we wanted more coffee. She refilled by cup and then came back and put the bill on the table without saying anything that anyone could understand. When I went to pay, the hostess asked how everything was. I told her it was terrible and I've had much better from Denny's. She just said "Oh." Never asked what was wrong, just rang me up. The total experience was awful. By far, this was the worst experience we've ever had from a Denny's. We will NEVER go back to this location. I will be posting this on Yelp. This sort of experience is uncalled for. read more

Middle of the night really craving blueberry pancakes and side of bacon so I headed to Denny's on Chandler Blvd. Never been there before. They seated me quickly. They took my order quickly. They delivered my tasty food quickly. Blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon wasn't on the menu. I didn't want the Blueberry pancake mega-meal that was on the menu. She gave me what I wanted and when I went to pay for it I was blown away!! $5! I never get out of breakfast restaurants for less than $10 usually. Thanks Denny's. This was my Mother's Denny's. She loved to go here! She wasn't much for experimenting with wild exotic food like me. She always suggested either Floridino's or Denny's, or take out from Boston Market. We always had good meals here. One of my fav's was the shrimp skewers, which I got more than once. I think they were only $5.99 or $6.99 for 10 shrimp and two sides. It might have been from the senior menu. Whatever, it was always delicious and just the right amount of food, well cooked and well-flavored. The service was efficient and friendly also. Pretty consistent, which was probably what she liked.
