For example, the Aristocrat is "a feast for a king or his court, flame-forged angus blend cloaked in American cheese and enthroned upon shattered lettuce...". Huh? Is that a cheesesteak with shredded lettuce? I thought it was absurd and funny. My hangry friend did not see the humor. We both agreed this really good restaurant is doing itself a huge disservice by confusing customers. First rule of selling anything is to make it easy for the customer to want what you're selling. We did ask our server their favorites on the menu. They named a few appetizers and said they mostly stick to the less expensive items. This is supposed to be an upscale restaurant, and I would expect the staff to be well-educated on the food. I don't blame the server for not forking over the cash for a variety of menu items. It's a pricey place. But don't they prepare the staff to answer questions about the food by letting them taste everything? I thought it was standard practice to prepare tasting portions for waitstaff. This restaurant is currently too tied to their theme. With a little editing, this could be a great place. I hope more people give them a chance, offer constructive feedback, and that the management is open to suggestion.
