Cambridge, Maryland Denny's restaurant the worst experience we have ever had. The waiter had hair all over his face handling the food no hair net number one number two had to wait about 15 minutes to sit down another 15 minutes before he came over for our order. Never did come back to check on us. We had to walk up to the register after a long time. Food was cold while we were sitting there. Three families walked out because they had to wait so long. We've heard of bad experiences there in the past it's sad because there's not many restaurants in the area except fast food. What a shame it used to be great. read more

Denny's in Cambridge Maryland. This location is a great location. Right off highway 50. This is just like any other Denny's that is out there. Nothing too special about this location. It's Denny's! We visit on Wednesday June 21, 2023. As we walk into Denny's there was no host at the beginning. We waited about 8 minutes to get seated. You can tell they was understaffed and the host was also being a waitress during our visit. The staff was very nice though but they did have a little fight in the back but it wasn't a big one. I think it was between the cooks. After we got seated and we placed our order. It took about 20-25 minutes to get our food but like I said in the previous comment above. They were understaffed. The place was kinda clean because they was understaffed that some tables still had plates all over the tables. Our food was good. I order the lumberjack Slam breakfast. The price was about $17.00 because I upgraded our pancakes to the cinnamon rolls pancakes. The pancake was good and the eggs and meat was delicious. Only thing I wish they did was cooked the meat a little more but it was still good all together. Our waiter was really nice and she was great. She was very busy. You can tell she was running all over the place but she asked us how we doing and how was everything and even gave us refills on our drinks. She was wonderful. I didn't get to use the bathrooms, so I didn't know if the bathrooms were clean or not. We do recommend this location. Definitely if you are heading to Ocean City or going back home from Ocean City since it's right off Highway 50. Just be prepared to wait a little for service because of them being understaffed. The air conditioning has been out for over two months. It is consistently understaffed. Having said that, one of the waitresses (Kalinda) is outstanding. Memo to owner: It's not a labor shortage, you are just not paying enough. Food was fine Denny's food, at a fine price. Burger was good (single patty was plenty big), chicken tenders were meh. I liked the "wavy fries", your basic steak fries, with some ridges running lengthwise. Code products. And extra points to the (overworked) waitress we had for dealing with that horrible couple in the table next to us--they griped about anything and everything ("Don't put any salt and pepper on my eggs." Nacho sat in the window for 31 minutes as I watched them. Soggy mess of goop. No sliver wear napkins or ice. Customer walking up the window to ask for things one waitress in the entire restaurant. She couldn't remember anything you asked for messed up everyone's order because she was overwhelmed obviously. Her the other manager who screws up my food twice talking about how Troy refuses to pay overtime and they get slammed every Tuesdays (5 tables in the entire restaurant). Shout out to Ronnie our waiter. I was in town for a bike ride to raise money for a Harriett Tubman statue. Everyone was very nice. The bathrooms and restaurant were clean........ only the table was sticky.......ewwwww...... but they took care of it once they were notified. Sorry no pics I was hunangry. Update: I came back here after work I ordered two beyond burgers NO CHEESE NO MAYO and add lettuce, tomato, onion. I ended up getting cheese on both burgers and it's NOT a beyond burger it's a black bean burger with quinoa and peppers and other ingredients! It's been a while since I've been to Denny's and I was impressed with the extensive menu - it had plenty of "healthy" and "nicer" eats and options for people with allergies, in addition to the standard diner fare. Was in town for Ironman Maryland and EVERYONE must have had the same idea before driving home - kinda the McDonald's of diners I guess! Came in to this Denny's because I was staying in a hotel nearby. When I walked in I was seated quickly, ordered the American Slam and it was ready in 5 minutes. This is the best place to eat in town.My husband and I have been coming here for years and the servers are outstanding and friendly alway.We have never had a bad meal,we would highly recommend it.Being that we are regulars I have gotten to know the people that come in there and they all agree that it's cheaper to eat in Denny's then to go to the grocery store and buy food plus you'll never find a more pleasant group of people that make you feel like your family. Definitely the worst Denny's I've ever been to. All the food was definitely under par. The only good service we had was that we were seated quickly, granted that there was only 3-4 other tables being served. But even that doesn't redeem itself into a 2-star review. Also wanted to mention that I ordered seasoned fries and veggies for the side. They got the veggies but gave me mashed potatoes instead of the fries. I said it was fine because I didn't want to cause an issue and just wanted to eat already but that's when I noticed that they messed up the order for several other people too. We said whatever we were just hungry. Okay so we eat (fucking disgusting) and we're waiting on the check. It took them almost an HOUR to get our checks and when they finally did, they split the checks in the most random way. I could've gave the order to a 6-year-old with Alzheimer's and they could've done a better job splitting the check the way we asked. We asked if we could split it again because, it was wrong, and they said no! Honestly they're lucky they got the money because we were just gonna walk out. She's always loud and yelling across the restaurant and always talking nasty and rude to customers. This is usually the best Denny's in the entire Eastern Shore. Two weeks ago went for breakfast. Particularly went to get the pumpkin pancakes. At 11 am, the cooks had not opened up the pumpkin pancake mix. My entire breakfast was not good but other diners with me said there choices were ok. Called up and spoke to the manager Ida. Ordered chicken tenders and asked for gravy for the dipping sauce. They charged me for the gravy. So I called the manager over and asked why they charge for gravy when it is for the dipping sauce instead of ranch, honey mustard or another dipping sauce. He said because the menu didn't say it was a dipping sauce. This is the only restaurant that I have been to in my life that charges for gravy with chicken tenders. My service from the sever was good but heard this manager being very rude with his employees while I ate. The cost of something doesn't bother me unless I think someone is just up charging to save a penny. By the way ranch cost more than gravy. If they are cutting corners with the customer out front, no telling what they are doing in the back. I have never been charged by other Denny's for gravy with chicken tenders. My birthday/Father's Day weekend was ruined thanks to Denny's. My experience at Denny's in Cambridge was terrible. We were seated and our server was brief and dismissive. We ordered our food and drinks. We noticed that a larger group, predominately white, had entered and sat next to us in the middle tables about 5 minutes after we were seated. The server took their order and brought out their drinks right away. About 15 minutes later a female server came to ask us if we were ok but stopped in the middle of her sentence because she noticed we didn't have anything on our table, so she came back with utensils. We waited about 25 minutes until we notice our server taking an order from the booth next to us. He was very friendly and prompt with the patrons. He immediately took down all their drinks orders and got them their beverages right away. My boyfriend and I were frustrated at this point and asked our server if he forgot about us because we hadnt received any drinks or food. We also told him the large group that was next to had also received their drinks right away. He proceeded to say that he didn't forget about us, and that he had put our order in and that we had to wait. He didn't apologize for the inconvenience or delay. We felt we were being discriminated against and decided to leave. Our experience at Denny's was so distasteful that we left one day earlier from our vacation. We will never eat at Denny's in Cambridge again and strongly suggest that others don't eat there as well if they don't want to experience unprofessionalism and discrimination. read more
