We live nearby so we come here relatively often when we want breakfast. Mostly it's good and what you'd expect for a diner, mediumish to good quality food, fast service and staff who kind of hang out like your casual friends.. but sometimes we've had some pretty crappy service. I came today because I found out you get a free build your own grand slam on your birthday, which is awesome of them to do. Thanks Dennys!! That being said, I'm really glad I did not have to pay for my meal because it was pretty gross and our server only came to the table a total of three times. I came in with my toddler and planned on paying for her meal, but I'm assuming my server saw this as a crappy tip and decided to not give us much effort. I was never asked if we want refills on drinks and when I wanted to add something to the order right after we placed it, I couldn't get my waitresses attention. She served the 3 tables around us and I was finally able to interrupt since she never even made eye contact with me the entire time. It's like she pretended we didn't exist. Too much to deal with just to add fries. Our food arrived and it was cooked properly but mine was sopping with so much grease it was slimy. I didn't order anything out of the norm like a skillet which would have more grease, this is just from well done hash browns. It was so greasy I had to clean part of my plate with a napkin before I put a bit of ketchup on the plate. The waitress still didn't ask how anything was or if we wanted refills, as soon as the plates were down and before I had even taken a bite she came back with the check and left it on the table. None of it was piping hot which was a good thing since I had a toddler with me, but that was something else noticeable about the quality of my meal. Nothing was wrong with said toddler food, but it's tougher to mess up microwaved chicken nuggets and a bowl of grapes. I feel like this would have been a better experience if I had just served myself, as I would have paid more attention to the condition of the plate and gotten my own refills. I'm rating this 2.5 stars.. High for the awesome policy of free birthday breakfast, but low for today's crappy service. read more

Denny's - The greasiest eggs and hash browns I've ever seen - American Near Me - Arnold, Missouri

There are two parts to my review. The first, is the service and the second is the establishment/company. 1.) The service is always AMZING when we go. We frequently arrange Magic matches with (sometimes up to) 15 people, and they're accommodating to our large parties. We try to be respectful and are, in turn, respected, which means bigger tips. We've had Cynthia so many times, we've lost count. The food is always good (or at least, reasonably priced and equivalently yummy), the people even better. I wouldn't change that for the world. But... 2.) This building seems to be dropped straight from the prehistoric era. Tiles are missing in the ceiling, tables are wobbly, and the bathrooms... If the service was not so good, this store would be getting a 1 star review based solely on the bathrooms. Every time, without fail, the bathrooms smell like dirty feet and pee. Tonight, there was the added benefit of a fan that sounded like it has an elephant stuck in it and was about to fall out of the ceiling. I dread going to the bathroom any time I am there. Which brings us to the end note... Dear Denny's: updates will make you money in the long run, because people will not be afraid of falling fan/elephants in the pee soaked bathroom. read more

5 years since previous visit, decided to go to Arnold instead of S. Lindbergh today. Very slow service, about 3 minutes before hostess seated us, coffee served was burnt or old bottom of pot, another 10 minutes for first cup of coffee. Over 20 minutes more to get eggs, bacon & hash brown, like warm, paper thin bacon. Salt shaker clogged with moisture unable to use. I guess one could understand if it was a rush hour, it was Sunday around 10:00 no crowd. We travel and stop at Denny's a lot, I'll never return to this location, so dissatisfied. read more

The french toast didn't taste like it was even dipped in egg batter. I was really in the mood for french toast and bummed me out.

The older male manager at this location is so miserable and rude every time I visit this place. It starts the visit out on the wrong foot and makes for a very unpleasant experience. The food here is hot or miss. Sometimes it is amazing and you are glad you chose Denny's and other times you wish you would have just gone hungry. It's a shame because they remodeled and have great new choices on the menu but this location has never been able to consistently have competent employees. There have been great wait staff through the years but it seems the cooks don't really care about customer satisfaction. This Denny's is in a prime location and they are always busy. I wish they would put more concern into food preparation because it really is a great place to go. I will likely go back because where else do you go for drunk meal or breakfast. However, I have been choosing this location less and less over the years. read more

At this specific dennys the food is good and made well and the inside was terrible though crappy booths amd tables dingy gross carpet but as of recent the whole inside of the restaurant got a make over restoration and is a huge improvement. But one thing that remains is the service. Its terrible theres always no one at the counter to check people out when your done even with a crowd same goes for when you come in, you have to wait around for someone to see you then finish what they are doing then come to you. I also am not a server so i cant judge them to hard but you have to be on point when someone needs a refill or is done waiting for a check. I would rather have someone bothering me than the impatient waiting. Overall its just an average place to get breakfast 24/7 nothing fancy. read more

We went there around 10am on a Sunday. We were seated right away. The floors were slick near our booth. We ordered and our food came out cold. The server spoke to the manager and had our ticket remade ASAP. The food came out cold again, but not EVERYTHING was cold so we ate what we could. The server told the manager again and she deducted 50% off our check. The server apologized several times. It wasn't her fault the food SUCKED. I've never been to s restaurant where there was an issue and the manager didn't come over in person until now. Don't waste your time going there. read more

Good food, reasonable prices, senior discount, 20% off coupons. Reasonably fast service, GREAT PANCAKES. My favorite food item there is the "skillets". Both breakfast and dinner skilets are large portions, fresh, seasoned perfectly. This is probably my favorite Denny's in St. Louis and it's local. read more

My family and I just left your restaurant. We sat at the table for 10 minutes before our waiter, Rudy, greeted us. An hour after ordering our food, we saw food getting delivered to the table next to us. At that point we flagged Rudy down and asked where our food was. He left to check and came back to tell us that the kitchen did not have our order and he needed it again. We had a 2 year old and an infant with us and after waiting for over an hour, we told him that we could absolutely not wait any longer. At that point he walked away without even an apology. No manager approached us to apologize either. It was the absolute worse experience at a restaurant I have ever experienced. read more

Typical Denny's restaurant, dated decor but clean. Wait staff was pretty attentive, my drink never got below half a glass before it was topped off! The food was a little slow coming considering there were only 4 tables. I had the the moon over my hammy sandwich, excellent even though it says on the menu sour dough and it was on plain white Texas toast. Hash browns were a little under cooked on both mine and my wife's meal. She had the red white and blue pancakes. Other than all the blue berries being in the center she said the pancakes were excellent. All in all pretty good meal and service. read more

I really like the service here, Ive been to some denny's where the service is awful but here Ive always been pleased. The quality of food is also very good from what you could expect from a dinner. They frequently send me coupons that save me some decent money so Ill keep coming back as a happy customers. read more

Whole restaraunt is good. Food was fast, and even though i spilled a cup of coffee on my table the waitress refused to let me and my friends clean it up ourselves no matter how much we insisted that we clean it up. 5/5 good diner read more

Okay so this is a super long story. 4 years ago on Valentine's Day. I met and took my girlfriend there. After 4 years of dating I was ready to pop the question. I could not think of any better place on earth to propose than where we shared our first experience together. I called the gm about 2 days earlier which was super short notice and asked for some help with this. The manager was absolutely amazing!!!! She said that they would have it taken care of. The day of (yesterday) came and I brought in some decor and they all helped me with everything. Not a problem in the world!! They gave us our exact same booth and seriously the best service I have ever had at any restaurant ever and made it truly special. This was a big night for me and our waitress and both managers were amazing!!! They made my big night more special than I could ever have hoped. Then after all of this. Money THEY SPENT!!! And time they spent. They gave us our meal for free!!!! Wow. I couldn't believe just how much they did for us. They have gained a customer for life and I will go out of my way to encourage people to get there food there. The food was amazing and with all the options they have seriously they have something for everyone. The cooks in the back even came out and shook my hand. Best night of my life and it's all thanks to Denny's. Me and my fiancé will be back there every week for the rest of our lives no joke!!! read more

The food is always good here. I usually go late at night considering its one of the only sit down restaurants open 24 hours. HOWEVER, there was an incident me and some friends were here, it was around 1:30 am, Valentine's Day morning, and a couple walked in an unfortunately, the girlfriend broke up with the guy in a very dramatic way. Understandably, the guy was upset and put his head on the table. Being 1:30 or 2:00 in the morning, I assume he fell asleep. The manager who was working at the time tried waking him up in a very violent and rude way, shaking him till he woke up and demanded he left the restaurant, even threatening to call the cops if he didn't leave. The man asked many times what the problem was, only for the manager to be a complete a**hole to him. The cops came and arrested this guy for falling asleep, before he even had a chance to eat the food he ordered because the manager had it taken away from him. I believe the manager handled the situation in a completely in appropriate and unprofessional way and he has definitely lost my business. read more
