My boyfriend recently told me about the Chicken Fiesta Bowl that he sometimes gets at Waffle House so I had to grab it the next time he and I went. Their description is Springer Mountain Farms® Grilled Chicken, Three Scrambled Eggs, Two Slices of Melted American Cheese, Grilled Onions, Tomatoes & Jalapeños. We sat at the high bar facing the cooktops and watched the cook do her magic. I was so taken aback that Waffle House had anything with chicken and high protein at that! This dish comes in at 480 calories and 52 grams of protein. The jalapeños are not overwhelmingly spicy. Each bite packs a flavorful punch and I ended up taking half of it home. Early morning when I arrived and the overnight shift was still here. I was able to order my usual Fiesta Omelet and it didn't take too long. This morning's cook said it took him two tries and he apologized for the delay. Which was not much of a delay - it was 15 minutes from the time I walked inside to the time it arrived in front of me. We had a group of 8 and had to sit in separate booths- but the booth next to us was dirty so we patiently waited for them to clean it off. After 5 mins, no one seemed like they were gonna bother cleaning it off so i went over there and started wiping it down. I was rudely snapped at and told not to sit at a dirty table and they would wipe it down. So we backed off and waited almost 10 more minutes, all while the rude waitress took our friend's order in front of us and didn't acknowledge us once. Finally, I had enough and sat down at the dirty table, where she still refused to acknowledge us until my boyfriend grabbed menus for us. Me and my brother came in from New York on a road trip and decided to stop in at Waffle House since we've never seen anything like that around where we're from. We came in at about 1AM and had a quick bite and it was so good we came back a second night in a row! Went here recently for a predinner meal. The service was personable and quick - the waitress was attentive with the refills and taking orders! The restaurant itself isn't the cleanest but it is clean for being open 24 hours a day. There seems to be a lot of grease on the floor or it's just slippery. When ready to order I inquired about the steak dish and the server informed me that the portion was small and was not worth it. I appreciated the recommendation and ordered a melt instead. My party's food order came out very quickly and the order was perfectly correct. Regarding the taste of the meal, the meat was dry and didn't look as great quality- honestly exactly what I expected which was fine. This establishment is great if you're looking for diner-type food and everything else is closed or if you're waiting to see a movie. Parking is great and the workers are kind and attentive. The restaurant was super busy this morning. Not surprising since it is Christmas break. Miss Kaeli had everything under control and moving like a well-oiled machine. Amid all that was going on, she never lost her smile or failed to take the time to talk to her customers. The whole team pitched in to make things run smoothly. We come in for some late night eats which they are 24 hours supposedly. We get to the door and the manager or whoever he is says they don't have enough space, but they have half of the damn seats in the restaurant cut off which is stupid. That's on them losing money. Fine dining, ambiance, and cleanliness are things you wont find here, but what you will find is good food that's cheap. I gave a one star because zero isn't an option. We asked for an old fashioned omelette, and were told that the "rock star" cook didn't like making those. After we ordered, she decided to tell us that she didn't know how and refused to try. We have eaten in Waffle Houses all over the country, and have never had a cook refuse to make an old fashioned omelette. We were obviously disappointed, and decided to change our order. I asked if she would be able to make scrambled eggs, and she yelled from behind the desk that if we upset her, she would refuse to make any of our food, and that was her right. HORRIBLE, smart-aleck attitude. We love Waffle House and this is the worst service we have ever received. I highly advise anyone to go on down the road to the next Waffle House. You would think at a Waffle House the one thing you would get right is the waffles. Our food was served without our waffles and were told they were still cooking. My husband got his about half way through his meal. I wasn't so lucky. After the second waffles got burned because the employee kept walking away and after I was completely done with all my food THEN the manager (who had been sitting there the whole time!) then she got up and put a waffle in for me. Both of us done with our food waiting on a waffle......at a Waffle House. And then she puke sit off too soon because she was trying to hurry and it was want even cooked through. Would have turned the whole thing around had the manager offered to compensate us for even a portion of our food but no. Instead she served me a half cooked waffle and we paid our bill and left. I'm so embarrassed to write this review. But, looks like waffle house needs some good press. For that reason, I'm setting aside my dignity and providing you with this review. I live a couple blocks away from waffle house and I was coming home one night with some friends in a cab when we decided we were hungry. So, we did the only logical thing and got dropped off at the house of waffles. Clearly not the most sober I've ever been, we paraded in there and were greeted with smiles. I asked to try the gravy before ordering and they obliged. They were extremely accommodating and the service was great. They seemed to be in good spirits which I enjoy, too. But, Here is what made This experience so great: I remarked that I wished we were at home watching movies AND eating. The line cook reached into his back pocket and pulls out....a tablet! Then, he signs into Netflix, hands it to me and tells me to watch whatever I want. The food was fine and lived up to what I think should be expected but my experience was phenomenal! This is a typical Waffle House that is at the corner of Lindbergh and Baptist Church Road. I had decided after I drove by one day that I would stop and see how it is since I have eaten at so many Waffle House establishments across the US on my different travels. The set up with table and chairs, counter and kitchen is almost exactly the same as it is in all the other Waffle Houses where I've gone. It was around lunchtime so they were busy, and that also means that people like this particular Waffle House to go there in the first place. Because of the lunchtime rush, the cook was busy but she was really good at what she did. She got the orders, cooked then up and sent them out with the servers in quick order time, and that always impresses me at any restaurant where I have been. I got steak and eggs. I liked it a lot; my eggs were over-easy (where did that phrase come from?), and the steak was a thinly slice sirloin which I asked for medium, and I got that. I had raisin toast and a side of grits; loved the grits...cooked like they did it down south with my father's family. My server was Heather; she was pleasant, friendly and nice. Jason, another server, was well informed and very nice, too. I always appreciate friendly, pleasant and nice servers in restaurants where I go because it's not an easy job, and customers can get pissed of at their servers rather quickly. Both get kudos for their job performance as well as the cook when I was there. I like this Waffle House and I will be back. read more

So to start things off, literally the moment I walked through the door I slid on the floor from all the kitchen grease and split my head open. After Venus helped me up I went to the bathroom to clean up a little bit and my shoes and socks were literally surgically glued to the floor from all the schmoe juice and poop dust. After I got seated and my fountain soda (aka Sprite Zero) was so unimaginably flat that it actually tasted pretty good. I ordered pancakes, sausage links, and hash browns. Pretty much a waffle house staple. Upon my food arrival, I abandoned my booth and jetted over to the John. Not necessarily to blast brown into the bowl, but to eat my meal. Out with the old, in with the new. I was half done with my flap jacks and felt the urge to make. So I scooted a turd out and went to wipe. Well, I didn't have any tp (my mistake) so I went straight for the pancake. Let me tell you, not only are the pancakes great in texture and overall taste, they do wonders on cleaning your bung piece. I then quickly shoveled the hash browns down my gullet and went back to the table to wash it down with some Sprite Zero. What a great experience. Waffle House has always had a special place in my heart. It has great service. Unbelievable food, and the dining experience akin to eating in a port-a-potty. Reasons one, two, and three that it is and will always be my favorite restaurant. To cap it all off...after my meal I went to Marcus and saw land before time 5. I understand that COVID is a thing and I am VERY considerate about this. I NEVER leave reviews. However, I have never experienced worse service in my life. As soon as I walked in with two other people (so three total) there was no hospitality. We were just stared at and looked upon. When I asked do we sit wherever? They kept staring. Took someone about two minutes to stare at us and say "we're busy"... Yes ma'am, I understand that completely. More than half of the restaurant was EMPTY. Maybe about 4 tables/booths were taken. So we went to go take a seat. We were then scolded saying no we are busy we can't sit you. So we got up, then a nice couple got up for us and said "hey we're done here you can sit in our place." So we happily went over, JUST TO BE YELLED AT AGAIN in the most rude tone. The lady said I told you we are busy, we cannot serve you for another 30 minutes we are full. I explained to her that this couple just got up for us so we can take their place. She turned around, we sat down, then she came back and said you guys need to leave. Can somebody explain what we did? All in all a horrible experience and I've never experienced ruder workers. I completely understand being stressed, understaffed, and busy. I hold a job similar.
