4 stars for this place bc it's very nostalgic for me. If you've ever read anything by me, you know nostalgia is at the top of my list of favorite things. Deluxe has been around forever. In high school, a long time ago (no way I need to say how many years lol), for proms and Christmas formals, Deluxe was a popular spot. I never ate there tho for those dances haha. After high school, I'd fly home and my family and I would go here a lot. My sister and my brother both worked here at one time. Pretty sure, my sister did, hmm lol. The food is pretty good. Can be a little pricey, but it's good. This restaurant reminds me of any older NY Italian restaurant. So many of the Italian restaurants I've gone to down in the city (NYC) had similar atmospheres. Family owned/operated. These long time Italian restaurants all have that mom & pop feeling to them, homey...the "feels like home" feeling, if that makes sense. Is this place high end? Like when you walk in do you feel like you're walking into the Plaza? No. not at all. Has a bar up front, restaurants in the back. Not a very big place, but it's ALWAYS packed! Be wise to make reservations in advance. If you go on weekends without reservations...your wait will be forever...that's if you get a table. In that sense, it makes me happy that after all these years, it's still a successful place..especially since soooo many places in Geneva have closed and so many in recent years. Deluxe, I think will be around forever or at least until the owners want to retire. I do think someone bought it a few years back, don't quote me on that tho. Our wait time tho, for our dinner was SO. LONNNG! Biggest complaint. We waited over an hour and like 20 mins for our food. Our waiter was nice about it. He's the kid of one of my junior high teachers! That legit blew my mind! Wow! Of course, I would never blame him for the wait time, he gave us an idea of why the wait was long, but yeah...wow! It was weird for sure how long it took. They were also out of gnocchi. My friend was super sad lol. She ordered it and like 35 mins or more later, the waiter comes to her and tells her they were out. Gnocchi is her favorite apparently lol. IMHO, they should have known that when she ordered, but yeah. So she ordered something else, making our wait time even longer. So that's really the only complaint. The wait for food...especially when we saw parties come in after, they all got their food before us and left long before us haha. Just something to keep in mind. Regardless, this is The Deluxe. Is a local favorite to many many people. That will never change & it shouldn't. It's a staple in our little community back there. It wouldn't be the same Geneva without The Deluxe. When I'm home, I always go..either with my family or friends that have been friends since we were all in the 5th grade. It's special for many reasons. Here's to many more years of The Deluxe and people creating new memories with their families and friends after years and years of sweet memories already created. We went for our anniversary and again for valentines day. Same server. It was not too busy on the non Holiday and service was good, 2nd visit not that great and we brought friends. I mean to say slower service, but present. Food was good lobster and a small steak. Husband was happy with the drinks they served. It is nice in side. We w3nt there one timemany years ago. Clean tables are very close. A few booths. Valentine's day was decorated and lots of balloons. I loved it. At the end they asked us if we're finished because they had people waiting. I was not fond of it but I didnot complain sense we were starting to wrap up. That was on Valentine's. We normally eat and run. That day we were engaged in conversation with our friends. Guess sense they were slow to start they ended us to hurry and finish. We'll it is what it is. I would say if you are just going to eat and jump up to leave you will like it here. If you like to let your food to digest, then you maybe be aware they will gently give you the boot. read more

First time here in a very long time, since I live in Florida. Really looked forward to coming to The Deluxe again. Used to eat here, and indulge at the bar, a lot when I lived in the area. So disappointed in quality of food. I had eggplant parmesan, my favorite. Eggplant stacked 2 pieces high, warmed thru, heavily breaded and soggy and very little flavor. I assume fresh out of freezer. Sauce was sour tasting, almost bitter and very acidic. Had to take antiacid tablets afterwards. The soup was very good, and freshly made. My friend had fish, which she said was very good. Soooooo disappointed in the pasta because I always loved food here. Wait staff was very good, clean inside with new paint and decor from what I remember. We were sat in a timely manner per our reservation, after that, the drinks came with the appetizers. The salads came after the dinner was served. Steak was burnt, grilled shrimp was served cold, crème of vodka sauce tasted like simple spaghetti sauce. One glass of wine was forgotten all together. Absolute worst pizza I've had in a long time. Other places were closed, but Deluxe food is usually so good so we tried it. Expensive for what we got. Tasteless, no flavor, crust looks like frozen, flat and dry. No seasonings. Do yourself a huge favor and do not order. There are several really good pizza places in geneva. read more

If you are looking for the best Eggplant Parmesan within 400 miles you need to stop at Deluxe Grill! I have tried about 20 different restaurants and tried to make my own, this one is second to none! My husband and I always look for local restaurants off the beaten path. The Deluxe was an amazing find for us! We sat at the bar and each ordered an appetizer. I had the sausage parmesan bites with red sauce. OMG, I was in heaven. I will never forget that sauce! My husband had a (unique to us) local specialty dish called greens and beans with sausage. Used to go here when I was a kid and it was under different management. Was hoping that the new owners would re-create the quality and atmosphere of the old restaurant. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When we entered the dining area, the smell of stale dishwater permeated the air. The interior design was bland and looked very outdated- lots of mirrors and unflattering lighting. The food ranged from okay to terrible. I ordered the chicken- it was cold, tasteless and very chewy. My daughter had the haddock and said it was palatable but she wouldn't order it again. The pasta sauce was decent but nothing special. We won't be going back. read more

Plus, we were charged an extra $5 for a split plate which wasn't split we just shared a plate as my wife can't eat much. For what was supposed to have been chicken marcella for $23.50, it was just a chicken breat over pasta. No flavor, barely .any sauce, no tomatoes or olives... very bland. Average for a small town restaurant. Have come here for years with in-laws and just now got around to rating the overall experience. The good: - friendly service, they definitely remember you by name once you have been here a time or two - lot of menu options - quick drink service - quick order and no lengthy wait for food The bad: - this is my personal preference but I know this will be a draw for other but the spaghetti sauce is not to my liking as it is sweet - part of my chicken was hot and part was lukewarm - while the service was prompt throughout the meal, once it came time for check, the waitress was MIA and then took long time to bring back credit card Overall, not a bad experience but not exceptional either. read more

Honest to goodness the absolute worst meal I have ever eaten. Went to Geneva for a girl's weekend with my young daughter. We went to Cosentino's on Friday night and had a fabulous dinner. We figured we would try something else on Saturday night so we went to Deluxe as the Trip Advisor ratings were good. Unfortunately we should have heeded the low rating on Yelp. We had reservations and I believe they were for 6 or 7 pm. We were about 15 minutes early and there wasn't a table ready but we were promptly seated a short while after, which was just fine. We sat at the table for 15 minutes before we were acknowledged. Finally, server came and took our drink order but never brought my drink. I had to remind her when she came back another 15 minutes later to take our food order. We ordered mozzarella sticks (standard frozen, deep fried sticks - which wasn't really a surprise), they came pretty quickly. Still didn't have my drink but it showed up two minutes after our sticks were delivered. Main entree's. My daughter ordered lasagna and I ordered the small prime rib and requested the end cut, cooked medium and ordered penne cooked al dente as my side. Again, it took a very long time for the food to arrive. It was peak dinner service time so it was understandable to a point. When it finally did arrive, I asked for a refill on my drink. My daughter's lasagna was a monstrous piece of yuck. It was drown in tomato sauce. Mushy and watery. Just horrible. My rib was a beautiful piece of meat. I like the end piece because it tends to be the most flavorful with all of the seasonings. When I tell you it was completely flavorless. Literally NOTHING. Didn't taste like red meat, didn't have anything in the way of seasoning. Just awful. I took a forkful of my pasta - it was cold and overcooked with sauce thrown on top and the pasta just stuck together in a clump. Disgusting! At this point I still didn't have my drink refill. I asked for the check and as you can see from the pictures, we left almost our entire meals at the restaurant. The server did feel bad, she was a nice young girl. She offered to get someone for me to talk to about it but I was so embarrassed that it was so bad, I didn't have the nerve. I regret that now. Expensive, especially considering we left hungry and had to go eat elsewhere. The decor was like someone's dirty basement. Carpeted floors, some carpeting on the walls if I remember correctly. Dark. Plastic table cloth. Just an overall terrible experience. If you're looking for authentic and good Italian food, drive past this place! read more

This place is a well hidden gem! Highly recommend the pasta with olive oil and garlic. The fried garlic was absolutely delicious. My mom and aunt (both from downstate) loved the pizza said the crust was SO good, as toppings they got mushrooms and sausage. We sat at the bar, both drinks and food service was friendly and quick. first time we have done a pickup order from Deluxe. the hostess forgot to put our order in so when we went to get it after 45minutes it was not done. Told it was going to be another 45 minutes. when we finally got the food and got home they forgot our salads and comped us for them But since I will not go there again the money will not be used. we did get free dessert for their mistake. Not unique to this restaurant, but we asked for multiple checks and ours was very inaccurate. I don't have a solution, but as the restaurant staff was descending on our table to clear because they wanted to close, is was a disruptive ending to our evening. None of the staff seemed to care and the checks were not corrected. Finally, without warning, the restaurant charged a " non-cash fee" of 3%. read more

There is something to be said for a restaurant that can stay in business since the 1930's. The Deluxe is a place taken right out of The Godfather. There is almost a 1940's atmosphere about the place and I like that very much. I mean, my grandparents had their wedding reception here in 1946. I remember eating here with them when I was knee high to a meatball. That's the kind of staying power we're talking, here. That being said, the food is not necessarily mind-blowing, but it's still good food. Italian comfort food, really. And that's compliment. The bread is fantastic, a meal in its own right. They don't have espresso, which is strange for a place like this. And they have old carpet on the floors, which is kind of a red flag. Carpet in a restaurant is just asking for trouble, and I really don't know how often it gets shampooed. All in all, it's a very solid place. I enjoy it. Would recommend. read more

What a mistake! The additional tossed salad was horrendous as was the lasagna!! The sauce was bitter. Reluctantly asked for a drink with no ice and was told it would be four dollars;outrageous!!! This place has been around since 1933. Everybody in town always talks about how great it is. I don't get it. Ten years ago was the last time I went here and I was unimpressed with my dried out steak that I ordered medium rare. Tonight I ordered the Seafood Deluxe: "Lump crab & shrimp in a seafood base, cheddar cheese, cream, and sherry sauce on pasta" this is verbatim from the menu. I got imitation crab, what was obviously canned shrimp on a sauce that could only be alfredo sauce. I tasted no sherry or cheddar cheese. I was able to take about 3 bites before my stomach turned and I lost my appetite. It was $14.95. I'm not expecting too much for this price, but imitation crab and canned shrimp?? So....I have tried the Deluxe several times over the years. Each time has been a reminder of why I wait so long between visits. It all came flooding back to me as my guest and I slid into a booth smelling of a dirty rag...and the seats were still damp from the wiping. It is astonishing that The Deluxe has managed to avoid changing its offerings in the face of increased food awareness of customers. If you miss your 1950s middle school cafeteria, then this is the place for you: The bread was mass produced plain white bread. The "vegetable" of the day was corn from a can reheated to tepid and served in its own fluid (water and corn syrup). The veal parm was flavorless and rubbery meat coated with flavorless bread crumbs, topped with flavorless cheese and topped once more with flavorless sauce. The sauce likely came out of a can. Don't even get me started on the beans & greens or the green salad with iceberg lettuce and hard tomatoes. My goal is to outlive all the adults and children who's permanent ideas of food and food service were formed in the immediate post-WWII era. By the looks of the average age of Deluxe patrons...I am well on my way! read more

Ok so first the service is 5 star - I mean absolutely no issues whatsoever. My mom had wanted to go to the restaurant since she first read about it on TripAdvisor. She had the idea that this was old school Italian and we were originally going to utilize the restaurant for our family reunion prior to Covid. I ordered capellini with sausage and marinara. Mom said that the pasta was homemade, but I didn't think it was anything special and the fact that the sauce choices were limited just didn't strike me as authentic. I mean the menu had this diner feel to it instead of traditional Italian. Sauce was watery and tasted more of tomato paste than fresh homemade sauce. However the sausage was lean and tender and I'd probably do this ala carte with some garlic and sauteed spinach to create my own dish. Mom loved her house red wine and the sausage appetizer, but I'd choose somewhere else in the future. Parking is easy if that matters to you. read more

This is a bar with a large room for eating. The owners are rude, the staff is slightly better, still getting any service such as refills is impossible. Do not get the chicken cacciatore, it isn't fresh, straight from a can or jar and cooked to mush. All the food is boxed pasta with some canned sauce poured over it. ALL OF IT. Not even presented nicely - literally drop dripping wet pasta on a plate and cover it with microwaved sauce. Table of 10 served in less than 15m from ordering. Dessert, strawberry rhubarb with some oatmeal they dared call "crisp", they charged 7.50 and IT WAS STILL FROZEN. We complained, the owner just took it away without saying a word and came back 3m later with the dish now steaming hot (microwaved to puree). When it came to paying the bill they demanded to add tip before payment. Just rude treatment, expensive too. read more
